I started out with the drink something call Tiki. Very good, and refreshing. It's what i call a creeper. Pretty, light, and fruity. My husband ordered the sampler as a appetizer. The spinach dip was on point. Only thing i didn't like was the sour cream in the middle . Everything else was good. My main side was a ribeye steak, salad and baked potato. It was ok I've had better. I've came to this cheddar's everyday with my dad since the grand opening and I loved it. Over the past few years we have stopped coming here for the following reasons: 1. The service is friendly but slow. My buddy waited for almost an hour and a half for his food and finally got it when I finished my food and got the check. Along with that, sometimes they will forget about you and won't come back to you until you are ready to pay. I do understand the constraints such as customers that need to be attended to but I feel as if they could do a better job checking on customers. 2. The food is alright but doesn't match the order sometimes. Me and my father loved to come here and get steaks every week and would always get it medium rare, but the more and more we came, the steaks always came out well done or close to fully cooked. I take pride in my steaks but it's not the same anymore. Not to mention, things like baked Potatoes may also not be cooked all the way either. It's like they just throw it out as quickly as possible. I understand if you have a lot of customers in the restaurant but, I'd rather wait for my food and get the correct order than something that I didn't ask for. 3. They can not really accommodate large family groups. Yes, they have big booths and larger tables but if you really wanted to come out with bigger families whether it's for special occasions or just gathering, chance are you will be waiting for quite sometime as they only have one big table and nothing else. Bleh. This is my first visit to the chain and more than likely, I will not return. When we entered we were greeted and seated fairly quickly. Waitress introduced herself, took our drink order and quickly returned with drinks. Pretty good so far... My parents and I ordered an appetizer and our meals together. Never received our appetizer. I basically gave up and ate the lettuce, tomato, and a little bit of the bread. Fries were average at best. Mom ordered fried shrimp with cole slaw and fries. Now call me crazy, and I am from the east coast, but doesn't cole slaw come with cabbage and dressing? Not here! Cole Slaw at Cheddars is just raw chopped cabbage. Yummmmm. Dad had chicken fried steak. From the look on his face while eating, I think he has had a better dinner experience from a frozen microwaveable meal. Big disappointment we had a large party of 9 we were seated immediately at 2 booths across from each other. We waited a long time to place our order and after we did we received our entrees before our salads. Two of our party had hamburgers and complained they did not look like or taste like beef not sure what they were serving for beef? This restaurant is usually pretty good, but tonight it was a horrible experience. The waitress Cameron forgot to take down how we wanted our steaks prepared, they all came out WAY overcooked. Also they didn't even bring out our baked potatoes. We were offered to replace steak but having already waited 45 minutes I was skeptical. After waiting another 25 minutes still no food other than my father's who didn't want to send his back because he was hungry, still no baked potato with his plate. VERY LOUD TV and LONG LONG WAIT FOR FOOD We were cozy in our both in the bar area for the first 45 min. but then for no reason they turned the TV next to us to full blast and the place was almost empty 3pm on Sunday. We let the staff know and asked nicely 5 times for it to be turned down. They were apparently forbidden to help and female bartender even cried about it??? Also it was over and hour since we ordered food and they came and told us it was wrong and had to be remade so WE LEFT. We will not be back after such terrible service and ear blasting TV on NFL football which was on but low when we got there. My family and I dine at Cheddars on a regular basis and it is ok although each and every time the server will forget a family shared appetizer and we wind up not paying for it....every time! But we enjoy the food and the family time. I recently went there to dine by myself. I ordered the chicken tortilla soup and it was too salty to eat. I mentioned to the server who was very gracious and I substituted for the potato soup which was excellent. I ordered the ribs and asked for the BBQ sauce on the side. I had had the ribs before and found them very good. This time, though, the ribs were overdone and very, very dry and I did not enjoy them at all. There was a little ramakin of sauce, woefully insufficient for a full rack of ribs and I had to request a second helping of cole slaw, again woefully insufficient for a full rack of ribs. I really didn't enjoy them this time. But I ordered dessert which was fantastic and the server was great, attentive and helpful. Although this solo rib experience was not all that great, I will of course be back.....no one-time unsatisfactory rib experience will keep me away from Cheddars....they are overall excellent and I will continue to patronize them with my family and when the mood strikes....by my very independent "I am woman" self! If I could give less stars I would. We decided to get a babysitter and go out for the first time since the pandemic started. Drove from Columbia Ky to Danville because we hadn't been there in years. Called ahead to see if there was a wait. They said no. We went in and was seated. 20 minutes later, after having no one come to take our order or offer any service, we left. People who had came in after us were already being served. Why people dislike Cheddar's, I will never understand. Cheddar's offers quality food with more than adequate quantity for a fantastic price. Perhaps the haters have a more refined taste that require you to hold your pinky out while sipping your beverage. Things I've had at Cheddar's that rock- Buffalo chicken wrapper-love it! I get it without cole slaw World class chicken-great taste to a grilled chicken sandwich Monte Cristo-not all locations have this item, but it's awesome Hamburger-good standard burger Ribs-I think these may be hit or miss, but my Memphis friends who are rib snobs like these too Salads-any kind of chicken salad is really good and full Chicken tenders-great, and plenty of them The broccoli casserole is my favorite side. The fries are delicious. Appetizer I recommend is the chips and salsa. It comes with cheese dip and they will put meat in it for free. It is fantastic. Had lunch at the Danville location and was not impressed on this visit. I ordered the 8oz sirloin and ribs combo, with queso and chips as an appetizer. We were served the complimentary croissants and they were delicious!! The queso not so much. It wasn't even fully melted. Clumpy like cottage cheese and barely warm. My steak was ordered medium and came to me med/well. Close to being well done. Thank goodness I ordered the bourbon glaze as it gave the steak a bit of flavor. The ribs tasted old and they were dry as a popcorn fart. My fries were quite good and the broccoli casserole was decent. Nothing to write home about. My wife and daughter were pleased with their meal although my wife's ribeye was ordered medium but was med/rare. But that's why I'm giving three stars instead of two.
