Went Saturday at about 8 pm. We got the fried pickles and pretzel stick apps. The pickles were good crispy on the outside and pickle flavor inside. The pretzels were a little disappointing. I like them thicker. The dipping sauces were a let down as well. It was a big thing of yellow mustard. Brown mustard is the way to go there. The other cheese sauce was good. We got burgers and tots. The burgers came on their own and then the tots after burgers were already consumed. So kitchen timing was definitely an issue. The service was great. Our server really did an excellent job and unfortunately had to do a lot of apologizing for the kitchen. The music was loud and not a game on any of the 12 tvs we were able to see and I am pretty sure baseball was playing somewhere. Outstanding customer service! On the Fourth of July, I ordered Drake's through DoorDash, but when my order arrived, the main part of my meal - my Mushroom Swiss Burger - was missing. I immediately messaged my Dasher but never received a response. When I called Drake's in Danville, I was hoping they could simply help make it right. Instead, they completely exceeded my expectations. The manager sincerely apologized, had a fresh burger made immediately, and then HE personally drove it to my home to make sure I had my meal while it was still hot. That level of customer care is incredibly rare today and says everything about the kind of leadership and team Drake's has. Ironically, after everything had already been resolved, my Dasher finally replied saying I would need to contact the restaurant, even though I had left a generous holiday tip. Mistakes happen, but what truly matters is how a business responds. Drake's turned a disappointing situation into one of the best customer service experiences I've had in a very long time. We dined at Drakes twice while we were traveling out of town, and we love Drakes! Both times the restaurant has been full but we've been able to sit almost immediately. Service is great and food comes out quickly. My favorite thing about Drake's is the variety of food, you can order a burger and sushi! Satisfies everyone at the table. For our first visit, we ordered the California roll and the tuna poke bowl with a side of sweet potato fries. Everything was delicious but the portion size of the poke bowl was a bit smaller than I was used to. On our second visit we sat on the covered patio and ordered the club sandwich and tenders meal. My only complaint was the amount of butter on the club sandwich bread but overall the food was very good and hit the spot. We'll be back the next time we're in Danville! read more

We stopped at this location while we were traveling with our two dogs. I stopped inside and asked if they would be allowed on the porch and I was so glad that they were. The waitress even held the only available table for us while I went to find my husband and bring them in. Service and food were both great. Fried pickles at Drake's are one of our favorite appetizers, and my husband had a salad with chicken which he enjoyed. For my meal I had the juicy Lucies, which were messy but very tasty. I would recommend this location, especially if you are travel with pets and crave a good meal. read more

We sat down at 10:30pm waited for a waitress and when they came told us we had to move, we moved and it took 15 to take our order. 11:30 rolls around and all we received was wings never got the food, never got an update. John was the manager on site and when asked what could be done for us he said there's nothing he was going to and it's not their fault. From 10:30pm - 11:50pm they allowed us to sit there without even caring that we were sitting there with no food. It just opened, so it is clean and new. I liked all the TVs and how they had music playing and trivia to view. I am a sushi fan and have enjoyed it at the Lexington location. I wasn't super impressed with the salmon. It wasn't enough food, but my husband was served a lot of fish. I ate some of his; it was good. Our kids had burgers they liked, but the kitchen messed up-not reading tickets-and put lettuce on one and got their sides on the wrong plates. Other than that it was an OK experience. Probably the worst service ever, sadly. We came here to try it after the hustle of everybody in town flooding to try it, maybe two months after it opened. We were seated rather quickly and sat at one of those high booths, which were quite uncomfortable, no padding. It took them 20 minutes to take our drink order and about 45 mins to receive our food. I didn't think it was that slow, even with most of the tables open. Fast forward a few months and a friend of ours invited us to go with them to catch up and it was the same incident. Slow service, the beer taps were closed for "cleaning" -- You clean then when you close, not during the middle of a lunch rush, I used to work at places like this, I'm sure that other waiters and bartenders will agree, you clean them when you're closed. Anyway, the food finally came, almost an hour later, my burger sliders were honestly lukewarm, which I was honestly hesitant to eat them. I choose the 4.5oz Filet w/ California Roll with Drake's fries as my side for my entree. My wife got Griddled Seared Chicken with Mac\n Cheese for her side. The file was fine but cooked too long for med-rare; her chicken was a little dry but was eatable. They do have a large selection of alcohol-free cocktails. I had the minted blackberry mule, which I did enjoy the most. My wife had the Midnight Crush, a blend of Vodka, pinot noir, cranberry juice, blood orange sour, and blackberry puree. The atmosphere was good. Overall, the place has a lovely patio and pub feel. However, in other reviews and our personal experience, service coordination is lacking; everyone has an off night, but this seems to be the norm. Service freaking sucks! We've been several times now, tried giving it the benefit of the doubt, every time is equally as terrible, this last time I received my food and the waitress stated they "had an issue" with my wife's food and they had to remake it all. 30 minutes later we had to pull her away from flirting with other male patrons to go check on the food after she forgot, she rudely made some remarks as she walked away to get our food. Terrible, terrible, terrible service, each and every time. We will not be back. read more

Visited 3 times and unfortunately all three times weren't a good experience. The first time we were in the restaurant for 2+ hours between waiting on a seat and food and the food was cold and stale when it finally arrived. The second time the service and food was just as poor and to top it off one of our credit card numbers was stolen by the waitress. The third time, it was for an early dinner and we simply asked for coffee and water to drink, they said absolutely then came back later and stated that they were out of coffee and "wouldn't make anymore because they didn't want to pour any out if we didn't drink it all" its coffee... grounds are not that expensive, also the service was just as bad. We went to Drakes today on 11/6/23 . It has been open for a month . I ordered the steak Medellin and chicken fingers the steak was medI'm rare and it was so tough and dry I could not eat it and I got a side salad but was charged extra . My husband got the grilled chicken and it was horrible very tough and dry and the seasoning was not good the cole slaw was too tangy . We were so disappointed. we paid 48.00 for meal plus tip 57.00 . It was not worth it at all and we did not take leftovers. We ate the chicken fingers because they were deep fried . The parking was good , the atmosphere was good and the music was good . read more

I love the one on Tatescreek Road in lex, so I was really looking forward to this one opening but was so disappointed. The stake wasn't seasoned and tough, the serving times were horrible even though they probably had as many employees standing around as customers. The chips were very stale and the dip was so cold that had a thick film over it and the crab meat was old tasting. After the first review, there was a "link" from the restaurant asking me to provide more information so someone could get in touch with me. That was in April & I've yet to hear back. Returned this past week for the first time since April & on a Friday night the restaurant wasn't busy at all. Our server was the best part of the evening. This young man was funny, knew the menu & went out of his way to make sure our food was what we had ordered. The food was much like the prior visit, the dynamite roll had one piece of shrimp on it, no sauce & was even smaller than the last time. My wife had salmon & broccoli and the portions were what you would expect at a lunch time meal for about 1/2 the price. We left after 7:30 in the evening & there were as many empty tables then as there were when we arrived. I've eaten the same dynamite sushi roll at BHG's Malone's location and the next time I have a craving for sushi, I will make the drive there instead of the one across town. The quality of food is so much better, and you truly get your money's worth instead of going home & looking for something else to eat.
