I could not get enough of the clean, purposely unfinished blonde wood, big windows, yet the amazing cozy feeling you got inside from the couches and other decor. Not only can you come for a dinner but plant your butt for the day with a book or computer and just start with a tea, work your way to coffee, and at noon just go for the cocktails. Nothing wrong with that. Like I said, there were four of us and it seemed we ordered one of each items on the menu - a total of 9 dishes. Everything came superbly finished and seasoned - no objections or comments from anyone other than praise. We split 2 desserts, and we had 6 drinks to the table. The maple squash was particularly finger-licking-delicious, as was the beet salad. At the end of our meal we had the pleasure to meet one of the co-owners of the establishment, Bjorn. Super nice guy who told us the story of the beginnings and how the place came about. We left full, happy, and couldn't stop talking about the resort all the way home. The bill, with tip, came out to be $400. I will definitely come back and I can't wait what else will be added to the Dandelion menu.

However, the gorgeous decor and overall feel of the house would make me return. The innkeeper was kind and more than ready to help us with anything we needed. The vegan breakfast was a stack of pancakes with fresh berries and an array of topping choices. We also got vegan yogurt and homemade granola. Everything was absolutely delicious. The room was larger than I expected it to be from the pictures I had seen online. It was set up nicely too with the bed having a night stand on each side with a book that was related to the sanctuary or animal issues. There were also decorative coasters you could use for the cute mason jars provided for water. One negative is that three of the rooms share one bathroom. There were no other guests during my stay so I didn't have to worry about this. But I think this would be a little annoying if there was a full house. Being only a few minutes away from the sanctuary, you can easily take a walk down the hill and take a tour. I like how the Homestead continues the sanctuary's mission and maintains a vegan house by offering vegan and cruelty free shampoo and not permitting any non vegan food to be stored in their refrigerator. The scenery is gorgeous and I would love the chance to stay at the Homestead again.

She was incredibly accommodating and friendly as could be. We enjoyed two wonderful breakfasts with her - that girl has a way with waffles and tofu scramble!! Our room was lovely and comfortable with its big king sized bed and window air conditioner. The bathroom was right outside our door, and was shared with other guests. First the good: the property is gorgeous. Nestled on the side of the eponymous hill in the village of Pine Hill, NY. It features several cabins and two vintage airstream trailers, a central green space with a fire pit, a communal lodge and an outdoor hot tub. It's a five minute drive to Belleayre Mountain and a five minute walk down the hill to the downtown area of Pine Hill with a few restaurants. True rustic Catskills coziness. My girlfriend and I stayed for two nights during a weekend in February when everything was buried under a foot of snow. A gentleman named Matty found us as soon as we drove in and was incredibly friendly, but that was the last of any employees we saw during the weekend. To the bad: I would not recommend cabin 8. It's a single room with bathroom and shower (no bathtub) at 175 total square feet. My girlfriend and I are not big people and don't mind a small room, but maybe just not for a weekend of skiing/snowboarding as we discovered. With so much equipment and barely any space to put it all save for one bench and a few wall hooks, it's just not ideal. The water pressure in the shower was depressing, especially after a full day on the slopes. At one point in my shower it slowed to a dismal trickle, presumably affected by the sinks/showers in the rooms next door. Cabin 8 has neighbors on nearly all sides. We shared an entrance with those in cabin 7 and could hear them clomping in and out in the evenings/mornings, and could hear them easily through the walls even though they were talking at a reasonable volume. We were bummed that the hot tub was closed all weekend as that had been one of the big draws for us in the first place - the possibility of relaxing after skiing all day. The temperature dropped to -15°F in the night so we understand why it was closed. A fire was set up on Friday night, but the fire pit was too big and the fire too small to make sitting in the chairs comfortable. We had to stand in the fire pit itself two inches from the fire to stay warm. Eventually we got tired of standing and went back to our room. The lodge is definitely nice with its pool and foosball tables. The website mentions an air hockey table, but this was not in the lodge when we visited. A sign on the lodge advertised croissants, bagels and coffee for sale on Sunday between 8 and 11, but when we stopped in at 10:30 the whole place was empty with the lights off. We never did get to see the gift shop as it was closed all weekend. So... not terrible. But at $398 for the two nights, I just don't feel like we got our money's worth. We love the Catskills and might give the place another try if we come back to do some hiking in warmer weather.

Quaint, clean, welcoming, homey, friendly, and extremely hospitable. Cris the Inn Keeper made us feel at home and even made us breakfast! Location: 15mins from Kaaterskill Falls for Hiking / Catskill Mountains and literally a 10min walk from Hunter Mountain for Fall festivities like Oktoberfest. Also less than 10min drive to the town of Tannersville where you'll find a few restaurants, bars, and shops. There is also a little plaza walking distance that has a bar-Ronnie MacGregor, bagel spot, pizza, etc. We came up from Manhattan so it was about 2hr 15m drive but definitely worth it if you want to get away from the city bustle. There is also ziplining at Hunter Mountain for those interested, essentially lots to do nearby. Accommodation: We had Room #2, it was spacious enough for us 3 girls, clean and quaint. We spent a night here and it was just what we needed. Bed that fit two and Cris set up the pullout sofa bed for us for the 3rd. He made it before we returned from dinner which was really nice. The room has no TV (which is fine since there is one in the downstairs common area) and to be honest you don't want one up here. It's just perfect to wind down/relax - away from all of the usual distractions. Our room faced the back lot but with the colors/fall foliage it was great little view. There is a private bathroom in the room, which was great to have at a small Inn (amenities included body soap, shampoo, and conditioner) included and if you need a hairdryer (just ask Cris). The door closes but not fully shut-an easy fix though. There are also towels (hand / shower ones), extra blankets if needed, there is AC in the room and a dresser. Plenty of outlets too which was great for us and all of our phones/cameras. The bed/sofa bed were a bit stiff / harder than the mattresses we're used to but that was the only critique we really had, not a huge deal breaker for me. We had little mints in the room too which was nice. It seems each room has a different theme or style, I'd recommend you check their direct website for details on the room you book. Sedgwick House Overall: As you drive up you notice it's a cute B&B, well maintained, welcoming, and charming. The sign out front is really cute too! There is a social room that has board games, a TV, books to read, little informational flyers, and is just a nice little area to hang out if you'd like to get out of the room. There is also the breakfast/dining area where you'll find a family style table for breakfast. We ate with 4 other guests of the B&B and it was so nice to actually have a meal with others and socialized (not just eat glued to the TV). It was nice that he made us all breakfast at 9a (he let us pick the time!) which gave us a chance to socialize and meet others that were up for the weekend. You can chose your type of egg, toast, sausage or bacon and there's a variety of yummy jams, orange juice, coffee, tea, etc. There are also a variety of snacks kept out for guests: chips, cookies, water, candies etc. There is also another little room with a fireplace, couch, just hang out area- we didn't spend time in there but took a peek. The decor overall is a more traditional, old school country vibe. There is a really nice front porch with tables and seating and also a little seating area along the side of the house. The girls and I actually took our picnic blanket that we had a laid it outside the front of the house at like 11p to star gaze and it was great, you can see so many stars on a night, clear night, a real treat for city folk. If we would have spent another night I would have loved to just sit on the porch and read- next time! Also very nice views of the mountain from the front of the house. Grounds/grass well managed as well. Also has bathrooms on the lower level towards the back of the house. There is no official Front Desk area, usually Cris will be there so if you arrive and he's not there, he'll most likely leave you his number to call when you arrive as he likes to greet all the guests. There is free Wif too-i we didn't get a chance to ask for the password since we were only there a night and it didn't make a difference but if you think you'll need it be sure to ask when you arrive so you have it. Inn Keeper: Cris is very attentive and wants his guests to be comfortable and feel at home. He was very responsive and puts in a lot of work to make sure the Sedgwick House is kept nice. He runs the Inn with his wife Florentina who I spoke with on the phone to make my reservation and both are very sweet. It's definitely a homey place and one I'd be happy to return to on my next trip. Overall: I'd recommend if your looking for a nice, simple, rustic, country style, charming spot to spend a weekend or few days out of the city. It was also reasonably priced and right

My wife and I (both early 30s) went back the Fall to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Typically, we are not bed and breakfast style people. We like our own space and don't love staying with and around strangers in an intimate setting. But after looking at some of the reviews and pictures, we decided to give it a shot. Amanda and Joe are two of the nicest, warm, fun and amazing people we have ever met. From the minute that we arrived, we felt like we just got to the home of a long-time, great friend and not a hotel/B&B. The main house where you stay is decorated incredibly well and so clean it was like we were the first people to stay there. You can tell that Amanda put in a ton of time, thought and effort in to the decorating. Everything was perfectly chosen; from the furniture to the pottery to the art to the lighting, it all came together so well. The guest rooms are SO nice and cozy. We couldn't get over the amount of thought that Amanda put in to the design and the little details. The bed is extremely comfortable, the room is ridiculously (in a good way) clean, and it just has such a nice at home, cozy feel to it that makes you never want to leave. One of the most important things to us when choosing somewhere to stay is the food. We can confidently say, that the food Joe prepared was some of the best food we have ever had. We love local, farm to table, fresh, simple but elevated style cooking and Joe is a wizard in the kitchen. The meals that he put together for breakfast were delicious. We also loved how they were pretty healthy as well and not overly indulgent, but did have a few things that were just indulgent enough without being over the top. We also opted to do the dinner at their home on Saturday night. There are some pretty great restaurants in the area, but I would recommend opting for the dinner at their house. It's a really enjoyable experience and you feel like you're out at a friends house for dinner (also you can just walk to it from the Villa, so no need to worry about a DD). The Villa is also in a really nice location where you aren't too far from towns or outdoor activities. Everything is a drive, so you can't walk, but it's not too far and the area is so pretty you won't mind driving around. There are probably countless other things I am missing right now, but all in all, 10/10 would recommend. If you appreciate great food, amazing service, a luxurious style of comfort that isn't over the top plus meeting new people, you won't be disappointed. The worst part about the whole trip was having to leave. We can't wait for our next trip up there.
