This place is a gem in the Catskills. It is very welcoming and comfortable. Kept very clean and with many amenities, such as complimentary drinks (water in the fridge) for guests, which doesn't happen anywhere else. Mandy, the linnkeeper is the kindest person. She cooks delicious food, not only for breakfast (included in the price of the night) but also during the day. Today we had the most delicious bread pudding. We highly recommend this B&B. read more

Disclaimer: While I've become a bit of a B&B addict the past three years -- This review is actually for the lodge rental only, as we didn't stay in the main B&B Building. The lodge is a large three bedroom apartment on the 2nd floor of a house that's almost adjacent to the main building. It's easy to miss on the road and up a small hill. It's not modern or luxury by any strech but it was extremely clean and stocked with firewood, coffee, tea, soaps and just about everything else we needed. There was also a playstation in the giant living room that we played and got a little nostalgic with. The owners happened to live downstairs so the 6 of us tried NOT to make a ruckus, however they seemed so nice that they probably wouldn't have minded if we did. A surprise bday getaway to this gorgeous historic Victorian house was just what this NYC gal needed. The rooms are beautiful, quiet and clean, with themes and well furnished although the T.Vs are outdated. You do however have strong WiFi even though it's only on the grounds. The place can take some getting used to, with their openness (lax security, communal space) and limited cell reception but then I realized that this is just the jaded me reacting to nothing wrong. I mean, the openness was ultimately amazing, we got to meet so many people from different walks of life every morning during their free breakfast. Graciously prepared homemade meals served at the dining room table in the mornings (8-10a). A fireplace in the living room, piano in the drawing room, games, books and even a DVD player + projector and movies for guests. The fire-pit & Jacuzzi outside, the two outdoor patios on the second and first floor, entire kitchen available to use for all (w. dishwasher too!) comes with a large fridge for guests, so we could easily prepare our own food. In addition, a mini fridge w. free adult treats is available during your stay. Overall the beautiful view of the mountains and great locals made this an unforgettable stay. It's not easy to find a quality dog friendly bed & breakfast, so we were super excited to discover Catskill Lodge. We have a well behaved pup who loves traveling with us. An excellent value, we stayed in this gorgeous historic Victorian house in a lovely room with a comfy king size bed, large couch, full bathroom, and private entrance. We were fortunate to book it last minute, and I believe it's the only dog friendly room in the house. Some people don't like dogs or have allergies, and I totally respect that. Jude was delightful and the hostess with the mostest. She made sure we had everything we needed, and prepared delicious breakfasts served at the dining room table in the mornings. It was gratifying to have a proper homemade meal. The kitchen was available to use with a large refrigerator for guests, so we could easily prepare our own food during our stay. The shared living spaces were warmly inviting, and we enjoyed sitting on the front porch with a gorgeous view of the mountains. I had a therapeutic soak in the jacuzzi in the evening, followed by a proper bubble bath in the clawfoot antique bathtub. The house has a wonderful vibe, a much appreciated weekend escape from New York City. Limited cell reception, but there's WiFi and it was nice to take a break from our phones. Looking forward to staying here again and checking out more of the beautiful area's sightseeing with our pup. read more

There were bugs in our room and the bathroom (both alive and dead). The bed was so creaky - a shift of weight in your sleep would result in a massive screech ultimately waking you up. Even sitting on the foot of the bed would cause the other end to rise up. The headboard would hit the wall every time you sat down. The bathtub could have used a good scrub. The breakfast was almost completely gone by 9 even though it was suppose to be served until 10. The whole place could use a major update. Do not recommend. read more

Tony and Sarah are the bestest hosts ever. I love staying at B&B, the intimate and sweet feeling of living under roofs of locals is homey and relaxing. Boyfriend and I stayed at Catskill Lodge this past weekend and we had an wonderful experience. The exterior of the house is like something out of a fairy tale, cute and intimate. As soon as we pulled in with our car, Tony walked over from their house, greeted and ushered us in (along with pumpkin muffins). The interior of the lodge is decorated with great taste and perfection, impressionist art works lines the walls of our floor, loved them. We stayed in Woodstock, one of the smaller rooms on the second floor with a shared bathroom, the rooms are cozy and very clean, complete with a TV screen and a DVD player. There are two outdoor patios on both the second and first floor, affording a beautiful view of the mountains and great for chilling. Tony also showed us their extensive movie collection in the living room and the many classic board games for entertainment. A mini frig fully stocked with soft drinks and bottled water (definitely the best luxury for hikers in the middle of mountain ranges, saved us so much time and headache trying to hunt down these essential supplies), along with popcorn and all kinds of cereals for anytime snacks. There is also a guest frig that we could store our food for later and plenty of plates that we could use. They really thought of everything! At breakfast, you will learn that Sarah is an amazing cook. The breakfast was SO TASTY. Sausages and scrambled eggs, yogurt with fresh fruits, and two main dishes besides cereal and drinks. I stuffed myself silly with cinnamon french toast (the texture is so fluffy) and fresh rasberry/strawberries, and blueberry muffins with lemon curd and boyfriend finished gigantic piece of egg frittata. Probably the best breakfast dessert dishes I've had anywhere. We were also asked about our dietary restrictions when we checked in. (Again, +1 for attention to details.) Location wise, the Lodge is within walking distance to a few little cafe and an Italian restaurant and just a few miles away from Windham downtown and more yummies. We didn't feel the need to go further than 1 mile from the Lodge to grab food (Nunzio's has amazing pizzas). It is also just a 10-15 minute drive from Windham High Peak/Blackhead Trail Head, which have both moderate and difficult trail, medium and long. We probably spent half of our weekend relaxing inside the lodge, on the porch, on the bench outside, watching movies in our room or just lazying around. It was delightful and charming all in itself. Cellular connection is limited in the Catskill region in general but the WiFi is fast and convenient in the Lodge. Also, this is one of the most affordable B&B in the area. Tony and Sarah are gracious hosts who are nice and attentive we felt right at home, they also have the cutest baby ever. We will definitely stay here again! read more

The Catskill Lodge is an incredible place. It will immediately relax you and is probably one of the most reasonably priced B&Bs in the area. Kellee and Mike take amazing care of you and they are ready to offer you an advice in regards to restaurants, hiking, shopping or anything else you might need. The rooms are comfortable. Spend the extra money and stay in the suite on the 3rd floor. It is super spacious and you have a great cupola where you can sit and read with the beautiful view of the mountains in the distance (especially great on a foggy morning). You will not go wrong with this place and we are definitely going back! PS The breakfast was delicious and they adhered to all my food allergies! Thanks! read more

Place is run down and dirty. No one was there to check us in - note said to do yourself. Other notes on various items in house says "not yours." Someone with purple hair knocked on our room door the morning after and said we were in the wrong room. She was irate and cursing, left and brought another guy up who kept shouting and cursing at us. We don't know who they are - assume it's the groundskeeper. We called the cops and cut our time short and left. read more

This place was amazing! My boyfriend and I stayed here for the weekend just to relax and be away from everything and it was great! Tony and Sarah provided amazing hospitality and the people we met that were also staying at the bed and breakfast were so kind as well! Sarah prepared delicious breakfasts and they will cater to any allergy or food preference you have (i.e., vegan,vegetarian). Tony has a wide selection of DVD's and he was the one that toured us around the house, showed us the menu books and suggested the best places to go out to eat (Prime steakhouse is delicious). The house is nice and clean and to top it all off, there's a hot tub! :) We had a great stay and definitely will be coming back! Thanks a lot you guys! read more

The price was right we didn't have to give up anything for it. The place was super clean. There were hammocks and fire pits. They even provided everything for snores. It's a home away from home. I was looking for a romantic getaway in the Catskill's and the Catskill Lodge far surpassed my expectations! We arrived on a cold wednesday afternoon in February, greeted by Dave the not-so-friendly but accomodating inn keeper. He had the hot tub ready for us when we arrived which was super nice as he usually doesn't turn it on until much later. He gave us an extensive tour of the Victorian house (which we had to ourselves!), including the living room with a fireplace, a drop down movie screen with over 200 DVDs to choose from and a cozy dining room. The rooms were immaculate and very tastefully decorated. I felt like I stepped back in time. The bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on (cloud 9...seriously)...and I won't even get into the hot tub which was extraordinary. What beats drinking white russians under the clear, crisp winter sky with someone you love? We woke up the next morning to the smell of french toast and coffee and came down the stairs to find that Dave had prepared for us a 3 course breakfast, country style. It was such a relaxing and wonderful time spent at the Catskill Lodge, I encourage you to try it out even if you aren't a skiier! It is ridiculously cheap for what you get...I felt like I was getting away with something! read more

Excitedly with a 5 star review we booked this place. We arrived in a heat wave to a facility that is not air conditioned, except for our room. Part of the charm of a B+B is the socialization and community which isn't comfortable here. As a senior with respiratory problems, the steep staircase, also presents a problem with luggage. Add to this a bathroom down the hall, it does not get our stars. Bottom line, we left-preferring our health and safety during a challenging summer weekend. Management has not been cooperative in refunding our charge. BEWARE AND READ THE FINE PRINT!! read more

Wow, words can't describe how awesome our time was at the Catskill Lodge. We were so pleased to see that even with the bad weather, there was lots for us to do. There's games and movie screens, a gym across the street (super cool old church turned into a recreational facility - day pass $15), coffee shop and restaurants down the street (.2 miles). We had a full kitchen and fridge to keep all of our meals fresh and easy for us to cook. Breakfast was delicious and made for us whatever time we wanted. Besides the beautiful lodge itself, JUDE (the housekeeper) was incredibly sweet and welcoming. This rustic feel made us fall in love with the place - will definitely be back. read more

Okay, where do I start? my wife and I were so overwhelmed by the Catskill Lodge, I couldn't figure out where to begin with all of the accolades. I guess I should start with the warm and inviting welcome my wife and I experienced when we walked through the entrance to the Catskill Lodge. We were greeted by Sarah who immediately made us feel at home. She was friendly and gracious with a smile that would make anyone feel at ease. After she welcomed us she took us to our suite and I have to say that the pictures on the Catskill Lodge website do not do the room justice. IT WAS AMAZING! Especially the whirlpool bath for two that my wife and I really enjoyed. Also, the overall feeling of the lodge was warm and cozy and the other guest were just as friendly. We met Tony (Sarah's husband) and he was just as friendly as his wife. I'm also proud to say that Tony is a former Brooklynite so our conversation really got interesting after discovering that fact. The breakfast was really delicious so I had several servings. I can't say enough good things about the Catskill Lodge, but my wife and I decided that we will be returning to this warm and cozy B&B. Thank you Tony and Sarah for the precious memories. You both made our 17th wedding anniversary memorable. My only regret is that I can only give this place 5 stars. read more
