One word- AWESOME!! Took my best friend here for his birthday and we absolutely loved it. It was the first time for both of us. We will definitely be back. Our server was awesome and very attentive and good at giving opinions on what we should order, depending on our personal tastes. We will definitely be back!

Nice atmosphere and full of families which I love. I came on a Friday morning for breakfast and was pleased to see it fairly busy. Only one waiter but he managed all of us quite well. The mimosa was a bit sweet for my liking because they added grenadine to it. I ordered another one without grenadine and it was much better although I would have liked it more chilled. I ordered the eggs Benedict and they were okay but desperately needed salt. Had to go to another table to get some salt. I would have preferred the fruit option instead of potatoes but waiter didn't give me that option. When waiter brought me my food he asked if I needed anything else and I said "silverware". He came back a few minutes later and rudely placed them on my table without saying a word. Maybe it was a language barrier but I thought my waiter was bordering on rude.

My son and I went here for a lunch, under his recommendation. I heard about it and wanted to give it a try. He had an omelette and potatoes and I had the churro French toast. Quite a departure from my usual savory dish. Everything was delicious and fresh. Service was friendly and prices were reasonable. Stop by and give them a try. Wide variety of Mexican and breakfast items to choose.

Artistic new addition to the neighborhood. Beautiful decor. Nice Mexican music played at a background level for breakfast. Prompt, polite bilingual service, good hot Collectivo coffee. Great breakfast selections but I'm especially a fan of the oatmeal banana pancakes which I choose to believe are healthy.

We checked this place out for breakfast and it was really good! I had the Espanola Omelette (subbed the sausage for chorizo) that comes with a side of seasoned red potatoes. It also comes with a choice of toast, pancakes, fruit or tortillas and I chose the pancakes which were delightful. The place is kind of split with one side as a bar and the other where most of the seating is. Service was great - she was so attentive and always made sure our coffee was refilled.

The atmosphere was nice for a girls brunch I had with a friend. The music was not too loud . The service was good the staff kept checking in if we were ready to order and checked in on the quality of the food. I had the Española Omelette. The food was good and presented well on the plate. I think the amount of food for the price was great! I had a side of pancakes it came with too.

The ample menu might leave you trying to decide among several good options, and based on our choices today, we can say you are likely to find good and tasty savory or sweet fare. I had the veggie fajitas, which was a very generous portion of everything, and my partner had the strawberry crepes. He enjoyed them and I also tried them and can confirm they were delicious. So, a few highlights: you can get breakfast fare until 4pm, and you can already get dinner options at 3pm. That overlap should keep your squad happy! Also, they have happy hours Wednesday to Sunday, so do check the margaritas and drinks menu for more details. The front patio is nice since there is a tree for some shade. The back patio wasn't open today, but that might be another great option for a balmy summer/fall evening. Nice service and reasonable prices given the hearty portions.

If you're searching for your next favorite spot for authentic Mexican food, look no further than Catrina Cafe. The service here is truly exceptional--attentive without being intrusive, and every recommendation feels genuine and thoughtful. The ambience strikes the perfect balance between modern and traditional. Colorful murals line the walls, woven lanterns cast a soft glow over rustic wooden tables, and the upbeat music creates a lively, inviting atmosphere that makes you want to linger long after your meal. And the food was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented and perfectly seasoned. This is the kind of place that makes you want to come back the very next day. Delicious food, amazing service, and a wonderful ambience--it's everything you could hope for in a dining experience. Highly recommended.

Such an incredible restaurant! We absolutely love Catrina, they have wonderful tacos and drinks! We loved their appetizer La Vale Madre (so good!) and their homemade chips and salsa are awesome! The service is stellar, the wait staff are knowledgeable and attentive. It has a family friendly ambiance that we really enjoy.

He went early to get our bake on the list and they were spot on with the wait time. We did sit outside which I think sped things up. We all ordered an assortment of coffee beverages. There are so many great options on the menu and I was torn between three. Luckily one of my friends was torn between two of the same ones I was looking at so she split them. The spam omelette was delicious and paired well with the Johnny cakes. The Johnny cakes are massive and we ended up both taking leftovers home of that. The orange blossom syrup was really good with it. Our server was attentive and stayed on top of water refills which was appreciated as it was a warm day to be eating outside. Perfectly cooked medium rare steak with chimichurri, crispy-runny eggs, and excellent potatoes holding it all together. The food is thoughtfully plated without trying too hard, and the prices feel fair for the quality. Definitely worth checking out if you haven't been. Another lil Milwaukee gem!

I was standing there waiting for her, like IN HER WAY! Smiling and all! lol this was the worst restaurant I have ever been to. The whole vibe here is that of a toxic work environment, starting with the hostesses that have zero and I mean ZERO interest in your experience as a customer of this establishment. Frankly makes me feel sorry for the owners when they have staff like this working for them. I had to walk away from two drinks we ordered on the way out because of the second hostess's attitude with us!!! She was so rude to the lady that prepared our drinks! Than was rude to us? People just don't understand sometimes that they are in the wrong field and we as customers don't have to put up with their attitude wherever it may be coming from. It's a pass for me, sorry Xavier we won't be coming back! (Xavier was our server, he was super nice, he gets the whole customer experience portion which seems to be a foreign concept to the rest of the staff). Online it said both kinds of flights were included their special if the day, which was BOGO half off, but the staff told us the bloody flights were not included. We ordered a skillet, burrito, and harvest hash. Everything was great and came out quickly! What the restaurant is lacking is in overall aesthetic and cleanliness. It seems unfinished inside, has chipped paint, the canvas on the seats is ripping, and the floors were quite dirty where we were seated. We visited when there was only an hour left of them being open, and the staff made it seem like they were wanting to close up. If some of these items are addressed, this place has potential to be really great!

Brunch It Up (possibly in the middle of rebranding to just "Brunch.") is a classic breakfast spot in downtown Milwaukee...we were there on a Sunday morning...high brunch time, and were seated quickly upstairs. The place had an overall run-down vibe to it...scuffed paint on the walls and a general feeling of not quite matching the quality of the upscale brunch spot implied by their modern logo. Menus...I normally don't comment on the menu itself but our table featured no less than 4 different menus...the regular menu, a drink menu, a specials menu and a mimosas menu...choices are wonderful, but the immediate reaction is this is a whole mess of menus on the table, and I don't know what to look at first. It felt haphazard. Let's move on to the coffee...Coffee is an essential part of the brunch experience. Even at a diner, you want it to be strong...the mug it came in was nice, but it was weak coffee. I need coffee to kick my butt, and if you're serving what's close to "browned water" at a breakfast place, you're missing the mark. How about the food? I can't fault them for the generosity of the portions, but will say individual dishes were way too much for my wife and I...we wish smaller portions were available, so so much didn't go to waste. My wife had the Egg and Waffle sandwich with waffle fries. It was fine. I had the Harvest Hash made with egg whites...the eggs were a little overcooked. (Egg whites require a thoughtful touch when cooking them so they are finished white and not browning all over.) There are plenty of fresh tomatoes, mushrooms, and peppers in there (I guess that's the extent of the harvest in Milwaukee) The hashbrowns it all sat on were undercooked. We were excited about the croissant beignets...Available were the regular ones with chocolate or strawberry dipping sauce, and a special with a fruit dipping sauce. They couldn't mix and match sauces, so we got the special. They were okay but a bit over-fried, losing the croissant texture altogether ...I mean, there's nothing wrong with deep-fried dough with sweet things to dip them in, but we do wish they hadn't fried the croissant out of them to give us the unique experience implied by the name. The menu has plenty to choose from...every breakfast savory or sweet thing you could imagine...and on the nicely designed, modern-looking menu at looks like it could be amazing...but everything we got, plus the experience of sitting in a place that felt a little rundown, left us overall disappointed.

Their website has a popup on the home page saying it comes with fried haddock, potato pancakes, applesauce, and rye bread, but the popup doesn't list the price and it isn't available through the online ordering function. I ended up calling in an order to go, substituting wheat bread for the rye, and also added a piece of lemon ginger coffee cake. The lemon ginger coffee cake tasted fine, but man was it dry. Like Sahara Desert dry. Maybe this was an anomaly and their other baked goods are better, but I'd be hesitant to try them based on this coffee cake. Even though the website says the side is potato pancakes with applesauce, my fish fry came with fries. They ended up being the best part of the meal, which I certainly wasn't expecting. Still, I was disappointed cause I prefer potato pancakes and was given their inclusion as an expectation. The wheat bread itself was ok, but the butter was oddly unsalted. The fish, of which there was three pieces, was battered with a hint of beer, but like the butter for the bread there was no salt to speak of in the batter. As much as I didn't enjoy the unsalted butter for the bread, not having salt in the batter for the fish managed to be more unpleasant. Maybe Blue's Egg should just stick with serving breakfast items instead of adding something temporary that they clearly aren't pros at.
