The food is really good and the drinks are strong. We got an appetizer sampler and the patron tower. The service is really quick!

I ordered through DoorDash but returned to dine in person this time. I ordered the taco trio with shrimp, chicken, and steak. It came with a side of rice and beans. It was all flavorful. I got them the classic way with onions and cilantro. I also got a side of Mexican street corn because it's one of my favorite dishes, and this was top-tier, too. For the table, we ordered the queso, which was good. I also got a Jarritos fruit punch. Service was quick.

Second time here I brought back my cup for the $6 Paloma and had the build your own bowl. I just put in ALLLLL the free stuff plus jalapeños and guacamole. The guac portion was small, but the bowl was GIANT. It was delicious, great the second day as leftovers and I'd get it to share next time. The servers were able to get us a second round at the table instead of getting back in line.

Yep mall living, what happens when the mall dies like so many do, you still live there

This was the new restaurant of the week to try out. This is in the new concept that is popping up all, the resident mall which I just don't get because I wouldn't want to live in a busy mall. The place is small and colorful with no real table service, Culver's like with place your order at the register and put your plastic number on the table. I ordered the taco dinner to go because it was packed with one steak up charge, pastor and ground beef with cilantro and onions that comes with rice and beans. I tasted a sample of everything and I defiantly didn't care for the the non traditional flavors of the meats, beans, rice and sauces. Everything looked good but the flavors were like this is hipster Mexican and we do it differently here. The tacos were oily and small with dry steak and moist pastor. Overall the flavor profiles of my food were not traditional Mexican flavors so if that's what your looking for than this isn't the place, maybe it's a fusion Mexican thing, I don't know.

Chips and salsa--not free, but good!

Date of visit: December 8, 2023 I believe Mex Avenue replaced another Mexican restaurant that didn't make it, so I was a bit wary of trying it but this was a work celebration lunch so I figured that I didn't have much to lose since it wasn't on my dime! It's counter service but staff was very friendly and provided suggestions and options for each of us. When I asked to confirm that the quesadilla didn't have any onions or tomatoes, she confirmed but mentioned that the ground beef was cooked with peas and carrots, which I appreciated. Those veggies aren't an issue for me, but was glad that she verified as some folks would have not taken the time to throw that in! We also went with some chips and salsa; there are two kinds of salsa, one for gringos such as me and another that is seriously hot, so avoid the green salsa if you're a wimp like me! The chips were warm and appeared to be homemade--we did not leave any behind! I really enjoyed my quesadilla and found the rice to be excellent as well. Food arrived quickly and staff came around to clear dishes and bring more water as needed, though I did wish the water cups were a bit larger or a carafe/pitcher was provided as it seemed wasteful to bring me a new plastic cup each time! In terms of ambiance, it's decorated in a way that fits the theme, but also doesn't encourage hanging around, as the chairs and benches are a bit hard, so don't come here for a long strategy or study session, your bum will not appreciate it. Outside of that, it was a great visit!

My husband and I decided to stop here for Mexican food. It was a really busy but luckily we found a table. You order at the counter and they bring your food to the table. The ambiance was fun they were playing good Latin music. The service was fast and I was surprised because it was so busy. We ordered quesabirria taco plate and chips and guacamole as an appetizer. The quesabirria tacos were delicious and authentic it came with the consomé, onion and cilantro, and the side of rice and beans. Quesabirria tacos are not super easy to find in Mexican restaurants so I'm glad we tried them. The strawberry margarita on the rocks I ordered was good and it came in a cute little cup you can take home with you. Definitely recommend this place, we will be coming back to try more food.

A great spot for drinks, dinner or dessert. We were headed there specifically for the mini churro cart as I'd seen it online but called some family members to see if they wanted to meet there. They hadn't eaten dinner yet so they grabbed an actual meal and were thrilled with what they got and have even gone back already. But the churro cart was definitely the highlight. It comes out with a giant sparkler and more churros than we could eat alone with two sauces and two ice creams. Just a really fun little treat. They also have a margarita tower that looks fun but we just got one large strawberry margarita to share and it was delicious. The cart took a bit to come out but meals were made very quickly. The restaurant has been newly redo and has a fun and festive atmosphere to go with their fun options. We will definitely be back

I've eaten here 3-4 times. The food is delicious - even the beans and rice are excellent. They provide two squeezable sauces (red and green) plus they provide table service after you walk in and pay. Highly recommend the food. Only thing is price. I got a burrito plus chips and guacamole and tap water which was over $30 with tip.

I was really pleased visiting this location. I had it saved to go visit when I returned back home and I'm glad that I did. The location was really clean. The service was pretty quick. I may not understand that people in front of me don't know how to order and look at the menu before they get up there, but that has no ground for the workers there who tried to work diligently to get customers in and out as quickly as possible, I really enjoy my chimichanga. The steak was flavored. I did not like the sour cream. I do like a thicker sour cream but again that's not here nor there it's not something to mark it down the star for just because of my preference the margaritas tower to me was a little too sweet, but it still got the job done so I still fell asleep with no problem after having about two of those after that tree overall definitely plan on visiting again very soon.

So stinking cute! I appreciated the holiday decor

Relatively authentic Mexican food served up very, very fast. Vegetarian tacos hit the spot but the steak chimichangas were lacking. I'd skip the chips and queso if I were you. Small portion, high price tag. Overall, I thought the prices were steep and there is no soda machine which I was surprised by - made drink options a little limited but a bottle of Jarritos soda is always a good choice (if you ask me). They also had frozen alcoholic drinks including a snowman and Grinch themed Christmas drink which I thought was cute but did not try. The menus are displayed on a big board on the wall right when you walk in. No paper menus. You place your order at a counter and then grab a seat of your choosing. Most patrons did carry out when we ate here (Sunday at around 6pm). The place did fill up pretty fast and by the time we left there were limited tables available. Service was friendly and you tip before sitting down, if you want to. The floor was insanely slippery - honestly it was like someone spilled a vat of grease on the floor. I mention this because I nearly slipped several times while walking to the restroom. Not sure I would eat here again but I am curious about their brunch offerings.

Solid -probably a 3.5 overall. Mex Avenue is located in the Mayfair collection. It's pretty new so we decided to give them a shot for lunch. The interior is bright and colorful, with a long open kitchen. You'll place your order at the register and your items will be brought out. Or you can grab a table and order via QR code - very efficient. If you want chips & salsa you have to order them ($5) - we didn't on this visit. I went for the taco plate ($13) which netted me 3 very full double shelled tacos. I thought the chicken was pretty good - nice flavor. The beans were nothing exciting but I really liked their rice. The mister had a Mexi burrito which is covered in queso ($16). He really liked the queso but the burrito was smaller than I expected for the price. The people working were really nice & our food came out fast. There is a bar, with a 32oz margarita available if that's your jam.

Great lunch here today. The space is bright and welcoming. They have a small dining space since they converted a portion of it to a bar but that allows a larger beverage selection! I'm slightly bummed by the small charges for things like cheese ($.15) and a cup for water ($.20) which aren't on their menu when you order at the register. However, the service was great, the food came out fairly fast and it was delicious. I would definitely come back and try the tacos again (and other items). The ground beef was surprisingly my favorite followed by the pastor then finally the chicken. Their pico had great flavor and they serve small salsas on the side. The green one was great! The refried beans were pretty salty but still good.

Their website has a popup on the home page saying it comes with fried haddock, potato pancakes, applesauce, and rye bread, but the popup doesn't list the price and it isn't available through the online ordering function. I ended up calling in an order to go, substituting wheat bread for the rye, and also added a piece of lemon ginger coffee cake. The lemon ginger coffee cake tasted fine, but man was it dry. Like Sahara Desert dry. Maybe this was an anomaly and their other baked goods are better, but I'd be hesitant to try them based on this coffee cake. Even though the website says the side is potato pancakes with applesauce, my fish fry came with fries. They ended up being the best part of the meal, which I certainly wasn't expecting. Still, I was disappointed cause I prefer potato pancakes and was given their inclusion as an expectation. The wheat bread itself was ok, but the butter was oddly unsalted. The fish, of which there was three pieces, was battered with a hint of beer, but like the butter for the bread there was no salt to speak of in the batter. As much as I didn't enjoy the unsalted butter for the bread, not having salt in the batter for the fish managed to be more unpleasant. Maybe Blue's Egg should just stick with serving breakfast items instead of adding something temporary that they clearly aren't pros at.

Food: They have a large selection of breakfast pastries, including scones, cinnamon rolls, hand pies, and more. There are also some savory items, such as a rosemary biscuit. It was a tough choice, but when in doubt, I go for a scone, and they had a Maple Cinnamon one. I had it warmed up a bit, and it was delicious. These scones are not muffins in disguise, which means the texture is a bit drier and more crumbly--perfect alongside a hot beverage. For my drink, I ordered a London Fog Tea Latte. I was hoping to have it served in an actual ceramic mug, but those are only offered to customers who order drip coffee. That said, they made a very good London Fog, with a little extra lavender and plenty of foam. For my taste, it could have been a bit hotter. Service: Everyone who helped us was kind and helpful and gave us plenty of time to choose the perfect pastries. When ordering the London Fog, they explained how they make theirs and how they would add the extra lavender, which I appreciated. As mentioned above, they do not provide mugs for specialty drinks, using mugs instead to keep track of customers who have paid for bottomless drip coffee. I could bring my own mug from home, but I am not a fan of carrying around coffee shop essentials. Atmosphere: The building is nicely designed on the outside and sits on a corner with plenty of large windows that bring in natural light. It faces north, so you avoid the glaring morning sun. Upon entering, there is a short walk to the counter, where you can view all of the bakery and pastry items. A menu board above clearly displays the breakfast and lunch offerings, making it easy for first time visitors. There are numerous tables that accommodate small groups, and a fireplace with a couple of upholstered chairs offers a cozy seating option. Even after filling up with customers, the noise level was very good, and easy to have casual conversations. A nice visit and a place I would enjoy coming back to.
