We're so excited to have Machos Tacos in the neighborhood! We called ahead and ordered steak tacos, nachos, and a chicken quesadilla. We walked in to pick up our order - we were greeted and given our food right away. Even though it's located inside a strip mall, inside is cute and clean! The food was packaged nicely and everything was piping hot! The nachos were HUGE! We really enjoyed everything we ordered. The price was a bit high but that's ok because the quality was fantastic and I like supporting local businesses! I hope to have this place around for a long time. Get to it!

We arrived for our 6:00 reservation a little late, but were seated immediately. Upon being seated, we noticed it was quite crowded and were prepared for a few bumps along the road. Our waiter came to our table relatively quickly. Gave us waters and asked if we wanted any drinks. My wife went with a Diet Pepsi and I ordered the Wisconsin old fashioned. When the drinks came we were ready to order and put in our food order. My wife always gets the New York strip, but wasn't positive how she wanted it prepared. The waiter suggested to get it a step lower because they could always recook it but you can't bring it back. So she went with medium (she later stopped the waiter to change it to medium well). She also noticed on the menu that she could get a Grecian side salad instead of the house side salad for $2.95 extra. She went with that and a side of French fries. I had never been to Open Flame but my wife was raving about their steaks. So I decided to follow suit. I got the New York strip steak cooked medium. I always get French onion soup with my steak, and I also decided on French fries. A few minutes later we get our salad and soup. Except that she was brought the dinner sized salad instead of the side salad. After mulling this over when the waiter came back to ask how the first few bites were we told him about the mix up. He said that he told us it would be an up-charge and we knew that going in. We told him about the fine print on the menu where it said it'd be a side salad. He went and found a manager and they went to the serving kiosk. The came back to the table and said that it would be adjusted on our bill. The salad was gigantic and had lots of feta, onions, bell peppers, and pepperoncinis. The French onion soup was very delicious as well. After looking around I noticed that all the tables around us had bread baskets and we didn't have one. When the waiter came to clear our plates and give us a box for the salad I asked for one and he said he'd get it. Shortly after that we got our steaks. One of them had a white stick in it to tell which steak was cooked which temp. I cut into the steak without the stick and told my wife we had to switch, and we were very glad we did. Her steak was cooked a wonderful medium well and the medium steak was cooked very well and the center was still warm. The fries were quite delightful and the vegetables were cooked very well too. The vegetables just needed a touch of salt and pepper. The bread came at the same time as our dinners and it was welcomed because it was warm and pillowy inside but the crust had a nice firmness to it. It was great to sop up the steak juice on the plate. The experience was pretty good all things considered, it was a busy night with a lot going on. We both took some food home to enjoy later one. When the bill came we were anxious to see how much off they took from the dinner salad. They made it right and gave it to us for the price of the side salad upgrade. It was a 30 minute drive for us and we talked on our walk back to the car that we would indeed be back, but not at such a premium time or date.

We ordered the bacado omelet and barbacoa chilaquiles. The omelet was nice and fluffy, but the portion was much smaller than omelets I've had at other brunch places in the area for the same price. It did come with a side salad, although I wished I had the option to choose my own side. The chilaquiles were also flavorful, but it was a little too mushy and there was not a lot of meat. The beans were also very cold, and I prefer my beans warm. Our server was pretty good. She took our order quickly and did check on us once. However, we did have to try and flag her down for a drink refill. We did get lucky with our sever. There was a table near us that had a different server. They had to ask our server about some requests because according to them, their server "ditched them." I would come back here again. Perhaps I would get takeout next time. Overall not a bad place to grab brunch before going shopping at Southridge Mall.

Food: Ordered my usual London Fog Tea Latte, with a little lavender, a little vanilla, and extra frothy. I would have liked it served in a mug, but they only offer paper cups. The drink was nicely made. I am used to having the tea steeped first and then finished with frothed milk. In this case, the milk was frothed first and the tea bag was added afterward. The result was a very frothy drink, but the tea flavor was a bit weaker than I prefer. Service: I arrived close to noon and the place was about half full. There was only one person working, taking orders, handling payment, and making drinks. Because of that, it took a while to place my order. That said, the person doing all the work was super friendly and helpful, and took the time to make the drink properly. Atmosphere: The atmosphere is relaxing, with lots of big windows and natural light. There are several different seating areas with various table and chair configurations. There is counter seating, high tops, and overstuffed leather chairs. It was a cold day, but the space was very comfortable inside. Everyone was having quiet conversations and being respectful of the environment. Overall, a nice visit. It would benefit from a bit more staffing to speed things up, and ceramic cups for hot drinks would be a great addition.

The place is festive looking with color inside and out. I was started with chips and salsa which looked good. The salsas were green and red which were useless because they were thin and watery so you couldn't really get much on the chips. The chips were not warm or seasoned but thin and super average. I ordered a the steak Milanesa entree which is breaded steak. When my plate came I'm like what's with the French frys, did I order a kids meal because I have never had French frys with a Mexican entree and rice and beans always but no beans in this entree. It comes with warm tortillas and I got corn. The steak milanesa looked pathetic compared to one's in the past. The frys were frozen seasoned and hot cooked to order but had no place in a Mexican entree in my opinion. The milanesa steak was so tough that my wood Handel serrated steak knife was struggling to cut it up. This was the worst example of steak milanesa I have ever had. When my check came I was confused at the total because it was almost $20 for a $15 menu item and I was actually charged $17 for my $15 entree, my reviews are always very honest with pictures to back them up so look at my pictures. I can't go back again because I can't support a restaurant that charges more than the advertised menu price.
