Website is misleading. I've seen companies charge for their consultations but never for driving to the job site, let alone a DAILY charge for the crew to show up. Email reply I sent after seeing their initial email: Thank you for getting back to me. I'm confused as the "complimentary consultation" really isn't complementary, is it? Perhaps you should update your website that indicates your company charges for travel time both for the consultation ($40) and for each day of construction ($125/day).  Again, thank you for getting back to me but I think we'll go with another company. The lack of transparency on your website doesn't instill trust as one would hope.

I was able to get an appointment for grooming and haircuts a week out - which is unheard of at many other places I had called. Katie was just great to deal with - the dogs loved her right away too - which is really saying something coming from my dogs. I picked the dogs up 2 hours later as agreed - they were both ready to go - looking and smelling great! I am delighted to have found this puppy salon!

I'm sure the owner is…read moregoing to do everything in her power to discredit my words, but if you value and cherish your dogs, do not take them here. I decided to try Velvet Paws after reading all the 5 star reviews. I made an appointment for my two mild mannered Cairn Terriers. I will never take my dogs here after what I would call an extremely unprofessional experience. Here are my observations: + I was quoted $65 per dog over the phone when I made the appointment, which is what I had paid other groomers in the past. When I met with Katie, I told her that one of my dogs had some matted fur, so she said that for both dogs it would be around $150. I assumed $20 more for the mats, which I am used to paying extra, but usually it's around $5-10. Okay, so not that big of a deal but still on the high side. And again, all those 5 star reviews led me to believe that it would be worth the extra money. + Katie also informed me that she doesn't take plastic. In this day and age I would call this VERY unusual, and she should have told me when I made the appointment. So now I would need to make a trip to the bank to take out cash. + Initially I was told that the dogs would be ready at 11 am, then I received a text that it would be11:30 am. I communicated via text that I was leaving an appointment and would be there closer to noon. I arrived at 11:55am. Katie's hours are 9-12pm. She also texted that it would be more than the $150 she quoted me because the matted dog took longer. And she left an extremely "annoyed" phone message wanting to know where I was... I saved it and replayed for my husband. You can hear the impatience in her voice. It was scary sounding and I started to worry for my dogs. + When I arrived, she told me that the price was now $165. for both dogs (because the matts took longer to brush out? so I ended up paying $35 more? that's insane, he's a 26lb dog). She seemed incredibly annoyed that I did not get there at 11:30, that I ran 25 minutes late, even though her limited business hours are listed 9am - noon. When I apologized, she said she had "other things to do", shuffled my dogs to me without ever asking what I thought of the cut (it was horrible, they basically both were shaved, and unevenly which my husband pointed out later). She also said that she had to muzzle one of my dogs when she brushed him out. That's a first. My dogs are 9.5 years old and have never been muzzled during a grooming session. I can only imagine he may have been sensing her impatience, anger or negative energy. + When I asked for change from $170 cash, I heard an audible sigh, yes....a loud AUDIBLE sigh (the price was so off from what I usually pay, that I wasn't tipping). She seemed irritated that I would ask for $5 back. Handing me the cash she never smiled, nor said "thanks for coming in" and more importantly, she never asked what I thought of their new "cuts" (basically they were both shaved like I said above). + My dogs collars and leashes were not put back on them. I've never been given back "loose" dogs. It seemed like she was super upset that I was not there right on the dot of 11:30 to pick them up even though her hours are till noon (and I was there before noon), and that this last courtesy was too much for her to do. She acted like waiting for me was the biggest imposition anyone has ever done, and had she been able to take plastic, I would not of had to make a run to the bank in the first place. I have two sweet Cairn Terriers, I will never take them here again. The place is sketchy from the outside, it looks like a dirty strip mall. Inside is not much better. And I don't believe all the 5 star reviews on this page. It's not sitting right with me, and feel compelled to speak up so that others know the truth. In closing, here are my complaints - Price (much higher than the $130 I was quoted. You would of thought one of my dogs was a giant ball of matts to charge $35 more than what she said on the phone.) - sketchy, strip mall place, with odd hours - Cash or check only - rude and unprofessional groomer - shaved, not a cut

He knows exactly where we're going the moment we turn down the street and absolutely sprints inside with excitement. He feels safe, confident, and genuinely loved, and the team has been incredible at helping him find the perfect mix of puppy friends that match his energy and personality. Ollie has been to both Rocket Dog locations, but he's a frequent flyer at the SLU location, where the team knows him so well. The facilities are always clean, safe, and thoughtfully run. The staff take exceptional care of every dog and communicate clearly and consistently, which gives us so much peace of mind. You can tell they pay attention... not just to the group, but to each individual pup. We've tried many other doggy daycares in the area and across Seattle, and Rocket Dog truly checks every single box. It's our go-to not only for daycare, but for overnight boarding as well. We trust Holly and her team completely and highly recommend Rocket Dog to any dog parent looking for reliable, loving daycare and boarding services.

So approx. 15 mins instruction and training per dog. Class is 1.5 hrs. My roommate paid for the series of classes.. and unplanned she ended up in the hospital Emergency Room and had to have emergency orthopedic surgery. She texted and left a VM that she wouldn't be attending the classes the night before class started and asked to Be refunded the $275. They told her said NO to a refund.Too bad if you have an emergency. Our class isn't full and we couldn't fill the spot. But we will let you pay another $137.50 to sign up for another series in the future. So they kept the initial $275. And my roomie paid another 137.50 to be able to take said classes once she's all healed up and can walk again. They gave her a credit of 137.50 if she signed up to take the classes again. If she didn't there is no refund!! So that is 412.50 for 5 classes at approx 15min of ins time each week. So that ends up being a hour and 1/2 of instruction for 412.50. Holy Crap!! A huge rip off and absolutely crap business management for Dogs day out. Ok and my roomie has worked in the dog business in W Seattle for over 30 yrs and has referred dozens of dogs to this establishment over this years. She is going to take the classes that she paid 412.50 for so she isn't out the full amount she paid. But what a huge crock of doo doo. A poor business rule and my god she had to have emergency surgery. I know for a fact she will never refer another client to them or ever return to Dogs Day out for any classes herself. If I were her I'd also let my dog clients who she's referred to this biz about this if it comes up in convo. About this practise. Whatever happened to professional courtesy between biz owners in the same dog world. Or compassion when they end up having emergency surgery. I for one am really floored by this experience my roomie is going through!!!

If my pups are taken care of, then I am taken care of!…read more I have been to a number of mud bays around the Seattle area, and while they are all awesome, I really like the Greenwood location for a number of different reasons. First off, I have never walked in the door without being greeted with a huge smile and hearty hello by one of the staff members. I always feel so welcome and when I have my dogs with me they are usually doted over and made to feel like the most special dog that walked into the store that day. Additionally, I have had multiple, LONG, conversations with many different staff members regarding a number of different, meaningful topics - food, behavior, toys, etc. The knowledge the staff have, and the fact that they go above and beyond just to help their customers out is a big testament to why I feel so committed to spending my doggie dollars at Mud Bay. They really know A LOT and really care A LOT about making sure you're making the best choice for your animals. They might be a little expensive, but I would much rather walk into a nicely lit, well decorated, invested-employee establishment and feel like my dogs are truly cared for than a large corporation that barely talk to you, and don't know nearly as much. I'll continue to shop at Mud Bay for all my pups needs.

It was amazing. The Banfield took over and it became a shitshow. We've been wanting to switch to another vet for the past few years, but since the pandemic, it's been really difficult to find a vet nearby that's taking new patients. The doctors all seem very kind and competent, but the CONSTANT badgering and upselling Banfield forces the staff to do around the "wellness program" is obnoxious. No means NO, and it's time to drop the subject. I've never heard of anyone having a positive experience with this "wellness program," and apparently it's nearly impossible to cancel once you've agreed to it. Worst for us though, was when the kind, gentle receptionist that had worked there since the Carkeek Park Veterinary Clinic days left. We loved him and he loved the animals and the customers. He was replaced by a rude, accusatory, nasty woman who was impossible to like. Once when I was trying to pay and leave at the end of an appointment, I went to the front desk and stood there for TWENTY MINUTES while she was in the back. Never popped out to say she was delayed or explain why she had left the front lobby unattended. Eventually I had to leave to be somewhere, so I left a note on the front desk asking her to call me and I would give payment over the phone. She called me about a half hour later, coming at me like a pitbull and accusing me of running out without paying, and that I'D BETTER PAY UP RIGHT NOW OR SHE WOULD TURN ME OVER TO COLLECTIONS. I explained that I was left waiting in an empty lobby for 20 minutes and that I had left a note on the front desk asking her to call for payment--which she apparently hadn't bothered to read. Even after she found my note and realized that I was telling the truth, was there an apology or a change in her tone? Nope. Just rudely demanded that I pay immediately (which I did, just like I said I would), and then basically hung up on me. That having been said, does anyone know of any non-corporate-owned vets in the north end who are taking new patients?
