Komorebi
Lydia O.

So I came here briefly for a networking event and I LOVED IT! First of all, it is so cute and the rooftop is PERFECT! Second, all of the bartenders were so sweet and they did NOT skimp on the liquor AT ALL!!!!!!!! I asked for a sweet drink recommendation and was told to try the Komorebi. This was easily one of the best (and strongest) cocktails I've had all year!! Not only is it super cute, but it has the perfect amount of sweetness and tartness. Don't let that fool you though, because after ordering 2 of them, I was absolutely done for the night and needed an uber home so do with that what you will! If I had to pick one negative thing, it's that the elevators take forever - so keep that in mind. Aside from that, love it here and I'm looking forward to coming back!

Great vibe, beautiful people .... Bartenders were busy but polite, friendly and poured some great drinks. If you're looking for a fun time check this place out

It was alright. We arrived about 7:30 pm on a Friday night. It's on floor 9C. When you exit the elevator, you're in a reception / host station area. ID's are checked, then you're directed down a flower-lined hallway to the bar / restaurant interior. The bummer part for us is that while the place was not yet busy at all, all the open tables were reserved. We looked outside and found no viable places for 2 people to be comfortable. They have a second bar and seating area that was not open tonight and we were allowed to sit in there but we needed to come to the main bar to order and wait for our drinks. Only a minor inconvenience considering we found nice seating in the unopen bar space. The drinks were okay. Cost was $19 to $21 each for what we had. We expected that. We asked the bartender to order us a piece of cheesecake. At first it was a no - "you have to order from a server". But since we weren't seated in a space with any service, the bartender agreed to make it happen. And he did and the cheesecake was good. Over the next 40 minutes or so, the music got louder. Really loud! And the place really started to fill up. I'm thankful I carry Apple AirPods with me as it was the only way I could survive in this loud environment. A lot of people hung out outside on their two outside terrace-like spaces. There was little seating outside but the young folks were content to stand, chat, take pics and such. To me, this is definitely a younger crowd space, but we're glad we went - so now we know.

You can find Catbird inside the Thompson Dallas Hotel on the 9th floor. The ambiance is so vibrant and floral. This is a great place to come for cocktails and drinks with friends. The bartenders are helpful and attentive. The views are immaculate and they have an awesome DJ on Thursday nights. 10/10 Recommend!

The smashburger smells soooooo good and tastes good too. I asked for extra bacon jam since I knew I'd like that, ha! Beautiful vibes in the building and great service. The drinks came out late but no worries

This place is really cute, with plenty of photo-worthy spots throughout. After a quick ID check at the door, you're in. The night we visited, most of the tables in the main dining room were reserved. That's where you'll find the DJ and one of the bars. There are also two patio spaces with open seating--one outdoors and one covered. The covered patio was my favorite, with another bar, plenty of lounge seating, a fireplace, and great views of downtown. I told the bartender I wanted something cute, and she recommended the Catbird. It was definitely cute, but don't let that fool you--it packed a punch, and I wasn't mad about it. The crowd was lively, the music was good, and the overall vibe was fun but relaxed. It's a great spot to grab a drink and hang out for the evening.

One of my favorite spots for drinks!! Always such a big fan of catbird. We had a group of 9 and got seated on the nice plush couches. The drinks are always so yummy, and the food menu changes and is fun to try! I still think about this udon carbonara regularly

This was the birthday dinner ...didn't satisfy unfortunately ... it more of just a bar with finger foods. This cost us 250 lol some garlic knots and raw tuna . The drink was good but unfortunately it's a no for me . Go to a steak house and maybe go there after for a drink but DO NOT GO IF YOU ARE HUNGRY lol

I visited Catbird during one of their R&B themed nights. With this theme, they served ramen and bao buns while a dj played RnB music all night. When my friends I arrived for our reservation our table was not ready. We waited a few minutes and then was sat in a more private area of the restaurant. Aesthetically, the restaurant is very pretty with moody lights and lounge seating, great for grabbing drinks with the girls or a date. The lounge seating was definitely not meant to indulge in a meal. The music was extremely loud. To the point where when we left we all complained of our throats hurting from having to yell at each other just to have a conversation, so that was unfortunate. As for service our waitress seemed ok at first, but it quickly became apparent she had a problem with one of my friends. She was very short with my friend and then tried to give her an espresso martini that was suspiciously bubbly. There were so many bubbles, that the drink continued to fizz and bubble over onto the table for 5 minutes straight. Finally when our waitress returned, I told her to take that drink back because it was obviously spiked. The waitress tried to push us to keep the drink but I insisted we did not want to keep that at our table. As for the food, no one at my table was happy with their order, and we were hesitant to drink after that encounter. Overall, this was a strange night and left a bad taste in my mouth. I would not suggest dining here, or at least be very careful on what you order and who serves you.

When mapping out all of the restaurants and bars I'll be trying during my time in Dallas, I knew I had to end it with Catbird. The ambiance here is so comforting and the dj really sets the tone with every track. I was beyond satisfied with every drink and dish I tasted here (get the fried rice)! If you're looking for a night out with friends or a fun dinner date, Catbird is the place to go.

Came in for Ramen & Bao x RnB night The DJ was in there going his thing, music was great all night! Unfortunately the service did not match the musical vibes at all. Politely put the service was slow at every turn. It was a mission to get water refilled. My request for a bottled beer, didn't get filled until after the food arrived and flagging down another sever for assistance. One of our burgers had to have been forgotten about because we were practically finished with all the other food before we had to remind our sever that we were still waiting for it. And once we were finally able to track our server down to close out, we asked that she come back ASAP because our Uber was outside waiting, we finally got our bill back to sign 15 minutes later. Which is especially frustrating for an establishment that auto adds gratuity to your bill. Thankfully most of the food was delicious, so the experience wasn't a complete bust. If you're willing to risk the poor service the teriyaki burger and fries were both amazing. And the brisket ramen was also really good. Both the crispy chicken Bao and shrimp po Bao were good, but overpriced IMHO for them to only come with 2pc. As an additional service note: our group found it frustrating that they left the normal food menu on the tables if they were only going to serve from the specialty menu, as there were items in the regular menu that we really wanted, but were told that we couldn't have, because they were only serving from the themed menu.

The environment of Catbird is fab, mood lighting, lounge seating, great views. The service? Terrible, you are limited to an hour and a half--which isn't mentioned anywhere. You won't be able to change tables, mind you some of their chairs are below sea level. The food was good, drink are an interesting asian fusion type, which is alright. Feel like the host had more say on what went on in the dining area, which wasn't accommodating at all. Also idk if I trust valet, saw them speed peoples vehicles in the garage. Maybe come during the week?

Sabrina M.

I have nothing bad to say about this place! The food, ambiance, service was all a 5/5! We got the crab Rangoon dip, fried rice and salmon bites, would highly recommend! We ended the night with the cheesecake and it was so good! Not to mention the views were amazing too!

Yummy drinks . I got the cat bird and cactus drink

Ask the Community - Catbird

Do they have happy hour?

I have been to Catbird many times, unfortunately I have not seen a Happy Hour menu, nor has it been advertised on their social media and/or website. I would call and ask for a definite answer. Highly suggest the espresso martinis, charcuterie board…

Is it 21+? Im 20, i don't wanna show up and then have to leave bc we're not 21. Thank you

Are infants allowed and if so, do they have high chairs?

Even if allowed (which seems unlikely), Catbird is most definitely not a place where you're going to want to take an infant. The music is deafening and the environment would be a very uncomfortable one for your child.

The ambiance tries to give you a fun Asian street food feel, minus the gravel and actual cars zooming by. I also loved that they have games you can grab and play at the table while you wait. We grabbed an UNO deck and had fun with that. We wanted to try a variety of things without ordering so much that we wouldn't finish it, and honestly, every single item we tried was delicious. They did a great job staying true to the traditional flavors and recipes. The nasi lemak was SO good! It has such a unique flavor that I know isn't for everyone, but they did it really well. Definitely one of my favorites from the meal. Our server was also wonderful. She asked about food restrictions, and one of our dishes accidentally came out with nuts. She immediately brought us a replacement and apologized before we even noticed. That kind of attention to detail and care really stood out. Definitely coming back to try more items. We really enjoyed our meal!

While I waited, several different employees came up asking why I was there and what my order was, which made it feel like no one was communicating with each other. My order wasn't ready until almost, 35 minutes past my scheduled pickup time. Around 7:25 PM, someone asked if I wanted whipped cream on my Thai tea, but instead of handing it to me, they set it on the back counter, where it sat until the rest of my order was ready. By the time I got it, it was watered down and sweating. I'm really disappointed. The whole point of ordering ahead and scheduling a pickup time is to avoid a long wait. A few minutes' delay is understandable, but 35 minutes past a pre-scheduled order is pretty ridiculous. I hope they improve how they handle pickup orders, because this experience makes me hesitant to order ahead again.

We arrived early and grabbed pre-dinner cocktails on the patio, which honestly set the tone for the evening. The fire pit tables + evening atmosphere were perfect. We kept it classic with Old Fashioneds and martinis, and both were very well executed. Simple, balanced, and clearly made by someone who knows what they're doing. There was also a blueberry graham cracker cocktail (can't remember the name, unfortunately) that was surprisingly delicious and easily could've been dessert in a glass. The tasting itself was an 8-course menu and absolutely incredible. Since this was a one-night pop-up, I won't go into detail on the food, but every course was thoughtful, creative, and genuinely delicious. One of those meals where you're excited for the next plate the second the last one's cleared. Service really stood out. The team was attentive without hovering, cleaned up seamlessly between courses, and made sure our drinks were never empty. They also offered solid wine pairings that complemented the menu really well and elevated the experience overall. One extra thing that really sealed it for me: after dinner, the second chef Taylor and the owner/manager Tanner came over and hung out with us for a bit. As someone who's a bit of a foodie nerd, I genuinely appreciate when chefs and operators take the time to talk food, concepts, and the thought behind the menu. It made the experience feel personal and intentional, not just transactional. If this pop-up is any indication of what Rye is capable of, it's definitely a place worth returning to. Great atmosphere, great drinks, and a team that clearly cares about the experience. Would absolutely come back.
