Have had nothing but exceptional meals here from the appetizers to the entrees right through dessert. Prices are reasonable given the high quality and service is always good. I've eaten here 7 or 8 times in the last 6 months. Highly recommended. read more

Had work in Fort Wayne and positive yelp reviews drew me to Catablu Grille. I sat at the bar on a completely dead Wednesday night. The bartender was super friendly and helpful with the menu. Apparently they had a pianist available to play but once he saw it was a dead night he peeled off (sad but I totally get it). At suggestion of bartender I got the black and blue salmon which was perfectly cooked with great flavor. Ordered their cheese dip which was extremely filling. Seriously, I ate way too much. Entrees come with a salad and bread so I was bombarded with food (but all of it very good). I could see this place doing very well and being a very fun date place on the weekend. If you live in Fort Wayne or are just traveling through, you should def check this place out. read more

I'm so happy this place was recommended to us, because I had no idea it even existed here in Fort Wayne. Everything about it is 5 stars, and it's the kind of place I think Fort Wayne needs a little more of. The atmosphere and service are impeccable. It's trendy, but still comfortable on the inside; you'll need to dress nicer, but you can still get away with a pair of nice jeans. The staff is extremely accommodating (almost a little too much sometimes - returning every 2 minutes to refill water, etc.) and pleasant. We started off with the green pea falafel appetizer, which included falafel balls and two kinds of dipping sauces, one that was beet-based and another that had tahini in it. Both sauces were plentiful, unique and complimented not only the falafel, but also each other. My only gripe was that the falafel balls were very small. For our entrees, I had the 5 spiced tuna and my boyfriend had their special for the night, which was sea bass. My tuna and all of its sides were some of the best items I have eaten since living in Fort Wayne. My tuna was served exactly how I ordered it (medium-rare) and had a perfect sear on it. The rub wasn't overpowering, which was great considering the accompaniments had such stand-out flavors. The pickled cucumbers were bright and acidic, but it was the garlic broccolini and wasabi purple potato salad that were the best. The garlic broccolini was perfectly cooked (not mushy) and seasoned, and the potato salad had so many unexpected flavors! It was creamy, but somehow still light. My boyfriend's sea bass was also wonderful, but not as good as my tuna. We decided to have dessert, and did a little happy dance when we saw they had beignets. Catablu gives you a large portion of bite-sized beignets with a few different dipping sauces (the raspberry is the best!) should you wish to dip. I think we may even go back for some cocktails and beignets in the future! Honestly, I can't wait to go back, and I hope everything else we try is just as stellar! read more

Very good food. Busy due to Savor Ft Wayne(to be expected) and patio was full. We were offered a cocktail while waiting and the wait wasnt long. Great dinner, however would have preferred a lobster tail not be fried( I didnt realize and was not advertised that it would be). Filet mignon was fantastic, melt in your mouth, and sides were great as well. read more

Catablu is an all around winner. Food is always delicious and menu offers welcomed changes throughout the year. Love their weekly specials especially the Pad Thai special on Tuesdays which we shared tonight and it was dynamite. The ambiance and atmosphere is extremely well done despite being located in a strip mall...great patio four outdoor dining during the warmer nights. I highly recommend the pad thai, best calamari in fort wayne, burger, espresso martini, key lime pie...list goes on. Staff is always friendly, always enjoy Trent's company at the bar and good strong drinks. Highly recommend this spot. read more

Great place for special dinners. Nice atmosphere and ambiance. This place has amazing food from the appetizers to the desserts. My favorite appetizers are the calamari and the thai lettuce wraps. Favorite salad's are the chop chop salad and the mixed field green salad (includes goat cheese fritters!). All of the flatbreads are great to try. Favorite entree would be the stuffed chicken chop. And then there is dessert...my favorite would be the beignets that comes with a variety of sauces to dip them in or just eat with the powdered sugar. read more

Catablu Grille - Lettuce Wraps - New American Near Me - Fort Wayne, Indiana

where to begin. This time I'll start with the good. It will only take a second. The atmosphere is nice. I like the movie quote banner above the bar. It was a cool touch. Ok so on the the bad. Service was slow and not attentive. Now in there defense there was a party of 20 dinning at the same time as me so I'm sure that had something to do with it. My steak was ok at best. I've had better, hell I've made better. The burger was good but once again for $15 it better be the best damn burger I have ever had. Should have gone to 5 Guys. Now the real complaint. They advertise hand cut fries, which apparently come with every meal in a fine dinning restaurant. French fries, which were about the oldest coldest fries I have ever ate. I'm sure they were Fresh Cut in 1999 when the were cut and cooked. This was just a disappointment. For and $80 dinner for two, it better be epic not something I could have pulled off on my own for $20 with a trip to the grocery store. French fries and fine dinning. Get outta here. The best way I can describe my steak...dense and flat. If a dry age steak tastes this flat than ill buy one from the grocery and do it my self next time. read more

We flew from LAX to Indy and then drove to Fort Wayne recently, and didn't get in until 9:30pm, which was 6:30pm on California Tummy Time haha. So we stopped in here for a bite and a beverage and were very glad we did. We shared several appetizers and they were all perfect, and my martini was also just right. The bartender was friendly but also gave us our space. We liked the ambiance and wished we had more time on our trip to come back for another meal here. We will be back next time we are in town to see family! read more

Location - great, atmosphere -good, service -pretty good, menu items looked good, but in reality...wasn't that good. The bread and salad were very good. I ordered the weekday lunch special which was an Asian-style taco dish and then i ordered a chicken bowl dish as well. I think the problem is that these dishes sounded good, but the dishes I had was submerged in sweet Asian sauces and that took away from the dish. In fact, both dishes were not good at all. Not in a rush to come back again..... read more

I was at Catablu for work Christmas party luncheon last month. We used the private dining space which was perfect for our special event. The lunch menu has alot of variety from soup/salad combos to small lunch entrees, appetizers and desserts. I chose the soup salad combo and both soup and salad were tasty, however my Steak Chili had one piece of steak in the bowl and was lukewarm. The appetizers were my favorite. We had the shrimp appetizer along with one of the flatbreads. Yummy! The martini list is decent although most of the martinis were overly sweet and not boozy enough. Dessert for me was a miss. I had the Butterscotch pudding with sea salt. It was too sweet and too salty, almost unpalatable for me. My friend chose the apple strudel, which I snagged a bite of, and it was fantastic. Overall a very nice experience and I will definitely return! read more

The appetizers were great. We took the calamari, and the Mediterranean skewers. The hummus was really good (and I am from Israel), the flavor was on point. The calamari were crispy and nice. We got for main course, the fillet and the sides were great, with perfect sear on the steak and great sauce. We ordered a head of time the soufflé, and beignets. Everything was special and good. I took 1 star off, because we got the table near the kitchen, so lots of traffic. Food was awesome. read more

Hubby and I had looked forward to dining here for a while and I hate to say it - we were underwhelmed. The duck flatbread appetizer, was the only exception. It was the only bite that induced that appreciative "yum," from either of us. The Lobster Mac & Cheese was just good. The cheese was not very flavorful (or plentiful), so the whole dish was a little bland.. Char Grilled Dry Aged Rib Eye Steak was ok, a little tough, but the butter topping made it much more interesting. We were seated in the bar area, which was not much for ambiance. We both had a fine experience, but feel we had the best Catablu can offer and aren't compelled to visit again. For the money we spent, I wish we would have driven the extra distance to Joseph Decuis (Roanoke) or Marko's on 2nd (Decatur) for something truly extraordinary. read more

First impressions? Hostess missed the mark on the "welcome/greeting" part of her job and was quick to dismiss our request to sit outside or to give an estimate for how long the wait would be. (As it turns out, there was a table that needed bussing and otherwise was ready for us.) The meal? Mahi Mahi "burger" was overdone, bread was soggy (I mean soggy!), fries were cold, and cabbage slaw was warm, limp, and lacked seasoning. It's July, and the tomato slice (on the sandwich) was the waxy kind you get at the grocery store in January. I would have expected something a little brighter and lighter. read more

Great lunch, ciabatta melt was wonderful, good price, friendly and efficient staff, clean and nice setting, will come again. DLP

Went for anniversary dinner. Everything excellent. It always has. Order the wine sampler if you go. You get three glasses of wine. It's a wonderful way to try a few new things. read more

We found ourselves at this restaurant after plans fell through on another spot. We walked in during lunch and were a little concerned that only two other tables were seated. The atmosphere was very nice. A large open dining room with a huge floor to ceiling fireplace burning. One wall was covered with a wine rack and everything was tastefully decorated. The good: Grainy, seedy bread with olive tapenade brought out to the table to start. Buffalo burger: great flavor, good size, perfectly cooked and seasoned with a side of the most delicious crispy, small fries. They brought a member of a party a free slice of key lime pie with coconut macadamia crust for his birthday. The prices were reasonable as 7 of us ate for $100 with some people getting tea, coffee and desserts. The not so good: Apple salad: This salad was promising with apples, grapes, mixed greens, candied walnuts and blue cheese, but it came out so overly doused in salad dressing that I couldn't really distinguish any flavors. Apparently this place really thrives at dinner and hosts a lot of events and private parties in a separate dining room. It did seem like the kind of place that you might want to come for a special dinner. Maybe lunch just hasn't taken off yet. read more

This was a welcome surprise in Ft. Wayne. The wagyu hamburger that I ordered was fantastic. The beef was outstanding, and it came perfectly cooked (medium rare) from the kitchen. Sadly, after checking the website's dinner menu, it no longer seems to be offered.. I hope that's because they've changed the menu in the past few months, and not because I'm hallucinating about what I ordered. Either way, it made an impression. The olive tapenade served before the meal was delicious, but the accompanying bread did not complement it at all. Catablu has a good selection of local and craft beers, though they don't have anything on tap- they only serve bottles. The bartender that served me was very friendly and took the time to talk to me about the beers on offer and local breweries. read more

Stopped in at the bar after a recommendation from a friend. My wife and I are new to the area, and are so glad we stopped in to Catablu! First, the service (at least at the bar) is top notch. Trent took care of us right away, made recommendations, and was beyond friendly. I had a stout recommended by Trent (which was great), and my wife had a glass of wine (though she soon had martini envy). Then the lettuce wraps came - they were delicious! Main course - I had the blackened mahi mahi sandwich and sweet potato fries, the wife had the short rib pasta - both were great. Overall, terrific ambiance, especially for a nicer spot located in a strip mall. The people were friendly, the food and drinks were tasty, and we will return for round 2! read more

We just tried to eat here on a Tuesday night. Not busy. Multiple open tables. We were never greeted by a waitress after having been seated by the hostess. We sat there for 20 minutes. Multiple other customers were seated and served water, orders taken, etc. Very disappointed in that I had high expectations and previous good memories of eating here, and embarrassing to have out-of-town guests with us. Good luck to them.... downtown competition will take a toll. read more

Passing thru Ft Wayne and went based on yelp reviews. Had the Caesar salad and the walleye with a drink. Entree portion was not huge, but I was eating a bit late. It was fine for me...and delicious! Caesar was an intriguing presentation and quite good as well. Atmosphere is open space, so it's a bit loud if that's a problem for you. I enjoyed my meal. read more

With The Oyster Bar this is my favorite in Fort Wayne. Maybe I like the food better here but nothing beats the Oyster Bar ambiance. I love going to Catablu for lunch with friends everything is delicious, healthy and affordable! Dinner gets busier and sometimes service gets a little slow but the menu offers great choice and I have never been disappointed. read more

Very good food and service, but very small portions and overly expensive. I isn't mind paying a good dollar for good food, but don't ridiculously skimp on portions. This is not French food after all. read more

Truly the worst dining experience I have ever had. Our server "Rachel" ...if that is her real name... treated my guest and I like we were the skum on the bottom of her shoe. She did not care to ask how our food was, and gave us our checks before we finished our dinner and drinks. She gave us dirty looks and watched us like a hawk to make sure we left her table as soon as possible. Not sure why she thought it was appropriate to treat us the way she did. I get that she may have been having an off night but we all have our off days... that doesn't justify treating humans like actual garbage. Will never go back. P.s. The decor was a tackier version of my fake rich great grandma's lake cottage. read more

Always a great meal at Catablu. Lunch or dinner is always perfect. The olive spread to start is always delish. I had the Walleye which was perfect, nice and lightly breaded. My bro had the ribeye which he said was awesome. My wife said the red snapper special was one of the best fish dishes she has had. And Kristen our waitress was friendly and fun which just topped the evening read more

They serve food that I would consider worthy of a spot on Hell's Kitchen. The food is very good and presented in an elevated manner. I had the pork chop and it was delicious. I would consider myself a good cook, but they put more effort into the food and presentation than I do. read more

Having to drop a star from Catablu, unfortunately. We both LOVE the brown rice bowl, especially with salmon, but we've had a couple of other dishes that were subpar. The cauliflower stir fry was tasty, but was so chopped up that it was basically mush. And one of the salads was way too sweet with way too many raisins! The atmosphere is really nice and the staff are awesome, but the menu is just too limited to earn five stars, especially considering that some of the items are definitely not five star quality. Still, four stars means it's a great place - "Yay, I'm a fan," as Yelp would say - and we certainly won't stop going there just because it isn't five star. read more

Like the two other excellent Fort Wayne restaurants I tried on a first-time-to-FW trip, Catablu had excellent food and great service. But what sets Catablu aside, at least for me, is the 5-star bartender...this gentleman knows his bitters AND his menu. What a terrific place! Do NOT let the humble strip mall exterior fool you...Catablu's ambience, food and drinks can take on any restaurant I've been to. From the bar to the mac and lobster to owner Mike Catalogna's frequent rounds to check on you, Catablu is an exciting find! read more

I do not get back here nearly enough - great appetizers, great food - very consistent. The service is great - Trent at the bar takes great care of his patrons - for f you happen to be at the bar! Two words: So Delicious! I travel to Fort Wayne quite a bit for work and have really struggled to find a nice place to eat, but Catablu Grill really fit the bill. I had the chicken meatloaf with broccoli rabe, and it was AWESOME. I'm always a little weary of ordering meatloaf at a restaurant, but this was juicy with a perfectly seated exterior. It paired perfectly with a glass of buttery Chardonnay. The ambiance was very fun, with the daily specials "stamped" on the butcher paper table coverings. They also offer outdoor seating. A definite must try in Fort Wayne! read more
