This my first time at the Longley location and it was just as great! My splash guard was halfway hanging down and they fixed it free of charge, which took a lot of worry off me. They won't aggressively up-sell services you don't need but did alert me to a leak I had that went undetected and saved me a huge hassle by going to my mechanic sooner rather than later. I have been coming here for a few years and have had great service; however, yesterday I came in for an oil change and was swindled into paying $522. It seems like there is new management or something. I made the mistake of calling to check how busy they were, so when I got there they seemed to be waiting for me and knew my name when I got out of my car (I'm guessing because they looked up my info from my phone number). I got out and one of the guys working there handed me a blank form to sign. I asked him why I was signing a blank form and he said, "Don't worry about it. We'll fill it out later." It was definitely suspect but I let it go. About 15 min later a guy comes back with the filters and tells me it's time to update fluids--no estimate or anything, so I thought it was a standard/necessary service. They come back 30 min later telling me I owe over $530 and they took $10 off. I was in shock and asked for an itemized bill and the guy at the desk couldn't explain the charges or give me an itemized bill and got the manager. No one there had the wherewithal to explain how these charges made sense so i just paid the stupid bill in frustration and decided to never come back. I checked the manual when I got home and of course none of the extra maintenance other than the filters was necessary nor will be necessary at any point in the car's lifetime. Not only did they get me right in, they were prompt in taking care of the service, explaining things and didn't try any hard upsell's. Waited about 30 minutes until someone finally started the smog check. Saw someone else get a smog check before me even though I was the only one at the bay. $30 for the smog check. Located next door to Devine Automotive, and needed a smog. I use Devine Automotive for my car care. But they do not do offer smog checks to renew car registration. So I checked next door at Castrol to see if I could renew and smog in one stop. The answer - yes. The three stars- there are two smog bays and it still took more than twenty minutes. It's also an extra $10 fee. Staff was nice, not much interaction. TV available in waiting area with just a few seats. Free WiFi was posted, but didn't work. They were fine and handy that day, but I'll stick to my usual place closer to home. read more

I've lived around the corner from this place for five years and finally tried them out. I would highly recommend them! I went to get my car smogged. I was in and out in less than 15 minutes. Drove up, got out (you can stay in your car right now if you want), they rang me up and I left. It was the quickest service I've ever experienced anywhere in Reno. The staff was super friendly too! Sometimes when you go to just get your car smogged it seems like you get the routine brush off attitude. Not the case here. I really appreciate these guys! They are always so friendly and efficient, and boy do they get busy! Even when I have to come in on a dreaded Saturday (busiest day), my wait time has always been kept to a minimum. I come here regularly for my oil changes and smog checks. Prices for oil changes are fair, but a little high imho. However, these guys have always been honest and trustworthy in my interactions with them. Nothing has ever been "off" about my car after leaving, no items have ever gone missing, and I have never been threatened with unnecessary extra sales pitches. The lobby is nice and cool, with the usual accouterments: coffee, water, candy machine, tv and magazines. Free wifi, too! Service was quick and there was no wait. The stars are based on the practice of the tech, I have a work van that smogs NO different than any other Chevy or GMC van. It uses the same plug in, takes the same amount of time, and I parked outside. However I was informed that since it was a large vehicle it would be an extra fee. They are already expensive (compared to others in town) but then they can't help themselves when it comes to squeezing every last buck out of you. It's too bad too because it's a clean shop that is conveniently located and says that it's a locally owned business . I have a local business too and try to support others when I can, but will have to go somewhere else for oil changes and smog. read more

I am down with Castro Premium Xpress Lube! These guys do great work! The staff here is professional and get it done! I mean get it done. They are quick on a busy day. Like any other place they do their best when there is a big rush! But the best time usually is 1-4pm after the afternoon rush. I came here around 1pm-130pm and I was the only one in the bay. They just got done with a big rush is what one of the mechanics said. They meet you at the bay doors and ask what you would like done for your vehicle. They ask that you keep the keys in your vehicle so they can drive it in the bay for you while you wait inside but make sure you have a attendant/mechanic come up and have you fill out the paperwork. They need you to sign that before they can do work on your vehicle. The location is very convenient and right next to a 7/11, Wendy's, a car wash and a few other stores. Their wait time can vary. So as I explained earlier it depends on when you go but 1pm-4pm seems to be the best time. It took them about 15-20 minutes to get the whole thing done from start to finish. I did not have to wait very long. Great service, great staff, what else can you ask for? The only real thing I can say that is a con is prices have gone up here for synthetic oil. But other than that great place. I would recommend them. I did read some negative reviews for this place and I hope that they don't try to swindle people. But for the most part they have never done anything wrong to me or my vehicle. I would hope that they pay attention to these reviews because people do read these reviews. I know I do. I did not feel I should leave my name, address, and last 4 of my ssn on the intraweb. As for calling to correct the issue; I am almost 2 hours away from your shop, and it would be highly unlikely that you would send the tech all the way to me with some 90 weight oil, a wrench and a steam cleaner to clean up the mess in my driveway. These guys are so down to earth and very efficient at what they do. When I asked for suggestions, they didn't automatically go to the most expensive option, but the best fit. More over, they told me that my filters were dirty and suggested I changed them. I went with their suggestion and when I payed for my service, they had my dirty filters at the desk to show me how dirty they were. I'm glad that there are still honest oil change places out there. I would say overall the experience was positive. Everyone was very friendly and they promptly took my car in to the bay within moments. I think it's a little pricey for the oil change but online they do offer eight dollars off a synthetic oil change. But even without the coupon been a yelp elite you receive five dollars off with a check in. So either way it's a win win situation. These guys are great - so quick and really friendly. It's right by my house so it's where I stop for my smog check every year. It's nice to be able to pull right up, wait for 5-10 minutes and then be out of there. I've never gotten an oil change or any other service there though. There are always coupons on their website - be sure to print them out and hand them to the technician before they start the service. I love the Yelp deal where you get a free car wash with an oil change - and the car wash is literally 10 feet away so it's super convenient. The guys are always nice and friendly and work fast to finish my truck. The waiting room is super comfy and warm/cold and their is water and TV while you wait.
