I reached out to Castle Floors on May 12 after reading positive reviews and wanting to support a smaller local business rather than a big-box store. I had several great conversations with Jacob, who told me he was the VP of the company. I scheduled an in-home consultation for May 18 to discuss carpeting for two bedrooms, a hallway, and stairs, as well as possible LVP for the hallway and stairs and tile for a future bathroom/laundry room project. Prior to the appointment, I received multiple text reminders and exchanged several messages with Brian about the type of flooring and carpet padding I was looking for. I also sent photos, specifications, and the product information for the LVP flooring currently installed downstairs, hoping they could help match it for the stairs. The flooring is discontinued, but I wanted something as close as possible. When May 18 arrived, my appointment time came and went with no communication from Castle Floors. My consultant eventually arrived 30 minutes late and apologized. While delays happen, the timing was especially frustrating because I had another commitment and needed to leave 30 minutes after he arrived, making the entire consultation feel rushed. During the visit, he brought only three carpet samples, all of which were at the very high end of the price range (approximately $10-$13 per square foot). For the LVP, he brought only one sample, and it was nowhere close to the flooring I had previously asked them to match. Today is June 17, nearly a month after the consultation, and I still have not received square footage measurements, pricing, recommendations, or a formal estimate. I have reached out via text three separate times and have been told they are working on it and that I would hear back once Brian was in the office. Unfortunately, nothing has been provided. I am disappointed because my initial interactions with the company were positive, and I genuinely wanted to support a local business. However, after more than a month without an estimate or meaningful follow-up, I have decided to move on and look for another flooring company. I'm sharing this review simply to inform others who may be considering Castle Floors for a consultation. My experience may not be everyone's, but the lack of communication and follow-through ultimately cost them my business. read more

For anyone looking for luxury vinyl flooring I highly recommend Castle Floors in Mesa. I had them replace the carpeting in my bedrooms, walk-in closet, and den. I went to their showroom with a square of the tile in the rest of my house and a board with the wall paint on it. Consultant Sarah helped me find a perfect match and she and another consultant answered all my questions. She let me take large samples home and then came out to measure after I made my decision. The baseboards were poorly primed. I had to Prime and paint them myself. they did not put caulking between the tile and the baseboard which allows water to seep into the sheetrock and framing. I was​​ also shaken down for $50 by the installer. he told me if I wanted the job done right it would cost me extra. Castle Floors sold and installed vinyl planking in our entryway. Best New product on the market we were told. Days after installation, glue seeped out from under the planks. We were told to simply wipe it up with WD-40. We even had our stairs done to match. About a year ago the planks began to separate. At several areas around the room I can place 2 quarters side by in the separation. Castle Floor response was it was OUR SLAB! We have tile adjacent to the vinyl on the same slab with no cracking or separation in the grout. read more

We recently had a vinyl floor installed in our home. The technician did a perfect job of laying one continuous piece of material in the kitchen, hallway, and bathroom. The pattern laid out perfectly! Unfortunately, as he was putting the refrigerator back, he accidentally ripped the floor. I offered to accept the job if they did a good job patching it. But Castle refused! They said they would rather take the loss and reinstall the entire floor than to have less than perfect work out there with their name on it. What a great business ethic! I will start by saying the only reason I am giving Castle Floors 2 star's is because the employee's are friendly. We worked with Jacob in person, and Sarah often times over the phone. Jacob was helpful in helping us find a carpet and padding to fit our needs. Sarah was extremely friendly anytime we spoke on the phone and very understanding of our situation. However I would give Castle Floors one star when it comes to their processes as a business. We ordered carpet, and waited 2 weeks for the install. No big deal, we are happy it was only a 2 week wait time. The installer showed up on install day and we right away noticed he had the wrong padding, it was obvious because we were paying for upgraded padding and knew what it looked like. Was this a trick to try and get more money out of us hoping we wouldn't notice it was the wrong padding? Maybe. Only they can speak to that. My husband called in and they were very friendly and brought over the right padding. A couple hours go by and my husband notices the installer is bringing in the wrong carpet. It was very obviously wrong, wrong color, and wrong pattern. My husband now had to spend well over an hour on and off the phone with castle flooring finding the mistake and what happens next since they already ripped out our old carpet. Castle floors blames the manufacture for sending the wrong carpet. But don't you think they should check the product or have a warehouse manager who is in charge of quality control before sending flooring off to the customers home for install? I would think so. Castle Floors then tells us we have to wait ANOTHER 2 weeks before they have an opening to install the correct carpet for us. Again, if this was a mistake on their end why are we having to pay the price as a customer and wait? I would think you should have bumped us up on the install list. Just my opinion. Over the next 2 weeks castle floors did not call us once. We had to call in multiple times to get an update, if the correct carpet had even been ordered, when the carpet will arrive, etc. Fast forward to install day round 2. A group of men showed up to install the correct carpet. It was obvious they were in a hurry to move onto the next job. I am very disappointed with how the carpet was installed. First off the carpet has a pattern, no one once asked me which way I preferred the pattern. I didn't realize what way it was going until AFTER they had cut it. Nothing could be changed at this point. The installer told us there was barley enough carpet, so they couldn't do seams like they normally would. They had to stretch the carpet a lot to get it to even fit. I understand stretching the carpet is part of the process. But I don't believe it's part of the process in the way that there wasn't enough carpet to begin with. The edges are sloppy and there are lines left all long the edging of the carpet from them stretching it to fit. The pattern was messed up on a few parts close to the edge, I assume from the stretching it ruined the pattern? There are parts where the carpet isn't even tacked down all the way. (Pictures & a video attached for examples). I'm confused why there wasn't enough carpet ordered for them to do the job correctly. There was more than enough padding and but not enough carpet? I would not recommend castle floors if you are looking for a professional business to install your carpet. Home renovations and upgrades are an investment. I trusted them to do a good job based of prior reviews. That's why I feel the need to share our experience, so others don't have to experience the frustration and disappointed we have experienced. Again, their customer service was very friendly. But the process and final product of the install was extremely disappointing and in the end that's what you are paying for. read more

From start to finish, our experience with Castle Floors was personable and professional. We received no-pressure advice on what type of carpet would best fit our lifestyle. Pricing was upfront--no trying to guess what the actual price of the carpet or the pad or installation would be. We weren't pushed to the most expensive or to the overstocked products (which has unfortunately happened at other flooring stores). The salespeople we worked with, Jenny and Jim, were very responsive any time I called. They informed me of the install date, and the installers (regulars with the company) showed up on time and did a great job removing our existing carpet and installing the new carpet (especially considering that we had newly painted custom baseboards). The seams of the textured carpet lined up perfectly. We had a concern with a previous installation (by another company), and I mentioned it to Jim. He was able to arrange for one of Castle's utility guys to come to our house to inspect the problem and offer some solutions. Chuck did a wonderful job fixing someone else's shoddy work--and his pricing was very reasonable. Castle coordinates with another company to bind carpet for rugs--also at affordable prices. We arranged for a large rug, and Castle took care of the details. Chuck even offered to drop off the rug on his way home (we had previously arranged to pick it up from the Castle showroom). The bound rug also turned out great! We now feel part of the Castle family, especially because they continued to offer services even after the initial carpet installation was complete. Castle Floors has been a Mesa fixture for decades, and it shows--in a very good way. This company believes in "old-fashioned" customer service and integrity, and they are the type of business we want to keep around for another generation! read more

Our experience with Castle Floors was strongly mixed: THE GOOD NEWS: Quality products; helpful salespeople. The team that installed our tile was excellent and great to work with. THE BAD NEWS: Once we signed the paperwork and the sale was official, we could no longer get our calls returned from the office, even to answer basic questions like, "What day will the carpet be installed?" The carpet team showed up on a different day than originally arranged, and although we had clearly highlighted (and paid for) our need for them to move furniture, the workers seemed surprised and understaffed for this. A large portion of the furniture was never put back (we had to move about 1/3 of it back ourselves). Additionally, the carpet installation itself was poorly done in several places, with some cuts/edges not turning out very straight and leaving unsightly misalignments and small gaps between the carpet and the wall (especially on the stairs). We asked the carpet workers to come back, and they made a few small/inadequate improvements, but some areas still look very poor. We would have liked to highlight to Castle Flooring management - but again, couldn't seem to reach anyone there once the sale had been made. read more

We do not recommend this company. The service is the worst we have ever experienced. By service, I mean the way the company manages their schedule. They don't. The actual installers were very good. We really liked their work. But Castle Floors never met any of the schedule dates that were set. We set the install date for 2 months away. Easy to plan for, right? We get a call 1 month later asking if an entirely different date is still good. What? Not good. Also, when the day arrived, we were told that we would be delayed because of a job that didn't finish from the day before. I understand that. But when our installers didn't finish our job, we were told we would have to wait a week because the installers had another one scheduled. Wait! We had to wait a day because of an unfinished job. Why didn't they make the next one wait until our job was finished? We were also told that one piece would work out great but it didn't so we had to wait again for a different one to come in. Then it didn't fit correctly yet Castle Floors didn't have a good alternative. I had to go to the store (again, to complain) to say that the alternative was unacceptable. With me there, we figured out a better alternative. I had to cancelled a trip out of state for a funeral because of the delay and I knew needed to be there to get the flooring right. There was one delay after another. There are plenty of companies out there that do honor their commitments. These guys are bad. read more

First I want to say if I could give no stars, I would. They gave me a price that was high and I really could not afford but they were willing to do payments until it was payed in full. It would have taken me awhile to get the money to them, but I was fine with it. Then I went to one of their competitors which I am not going to say, they quoted me a thousand dollars less! Then I came back to Castle and they dropped the price down to around their competitors so I gave them another $800 to hold today's date 8/5. I was on the schedule but they never gave me a call to tell me that one of their contractors had cancelled on my order for new carpeting. Thank goodness I called today. They called around to see what other installers were available but no luck. Later, I called back but no luck. I told the girl on the phone that I took the day off and boarded my dog. She didn't think that was such a big deal. Finally, they called me back for later in the day, but the installer never came. I went to Castle and told the guys in the front about what happened with the later installer and then I asked him why they didn't call me to let me know. They said they just found out that the installer's worker wasn't feeling well and needed to be sent home. So they cancelled as well. All and all I did get my money back, but they put it back on me like I was at fault for being so mad about their sloppy customer service. Please be careful with this one. Thanks! read more

We purchased new flooring from Castle and while Castle was easy to work with, the contractor they hired caused us some issues. We were quoted a 4-5 day job, but took 12 days to get everything done! We had not moved in so the house was empty. First few days there were 4 people, blasting music so loud it could be heard down the block, then it dropped to just a husband and wife team. They started working slower and coming up with issues as to why. One evening we go over and find sleeping bags in the closet upstairs, along with other personal items that did not belong to us. We also noticed some of our personal items we had in the kitchen were being used. We assume they were squatting in the house. The next day we go over and surprise them and they had their little kid there and was making little progress on the floors. The next business day I let Castle know and they spoke to the contractor. Needless to say he had an excuse for everything. Took another 5 days to get the floors fully finished. We go over after and they took all full boxes of flooring that was supposed to be left alone with other tile that was off in a corner left by the previous owners. The only thing they didn't take was the dirt on the floors that was left behind while they installed them and the bowl of cereal they were feeding their child. Even after everything Castle did not offer any compensation for this cluster fuck of issues. They did say they would give me a life time warranty on the install and if we had any issues with the floor they would help out. While I am not happy with the process and install, I am content with Castle but would of expected a little compensation considering their lack of oversight on their contractors read more

We highly recommend Castle Floors if you're in the market for wood flooring. Several years ago we replaced most of our carpeting with an engineered hardwood flooring. We hired Castle Floors to install the same flooring in another bedroom. They were a million times better than the company we hired the first time around. The installers were courteous, efficient and CLEAN! (I didn't have to do any cleanup, unlike the dustbowl the first company left for ME to deal with.) We went to Castle Floors to purchase hard wood floors. Jim convinced us that the laminate floors would hold up better in AZ and was water resistant. It has been 4 years and the flooring is bubbling, chipping and separating. Since we had a 10 year warranty we contacted Castle. When we could not get them to respond we contacted the Better Business Bureau. Jim and the installer came out after receiving the complaint and said it was water damage and not covered under warranty. They reported to BBB that the manufacturers inspector and Castle inspected and determined water damage and the separation was normal. No one from the manufacturer ever came to inspect. The areas in question had no water exposure. I have not seen the wood separate like this in any other floors I've had. Ironically, we also have it in our bathroom and laundry room where you would expect water exposure and there is no problem there. Castle does not honor their warranties. read more
