I had five HVAC companies come out, and three of them wanted to charge nearly double what the work should have cost because it was a relatively small job. Another company gave a fair quote but wouldn't pull permits and couldn't start for a week. Chris came out, provided a reasonable quote, pulled the permits the same day, completed the work the following day, and helped keep my project on schedule. We passed inspection without any issues, and his responsiveness, professionalism, and pricing were exactly what I needed. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for honest, reliable HVAC work.

I previously gave them a 5 star review, but that service no longer exists…read more We had a problem with our front heater and called Northwind because other service was good. The guy who came out took over 3 hours to "Diagnose" the problem, but because he had taken way longer than it should have, he only charged us for two hours. Got an estimate that the unit needed a new heat kit and we accepted it. NOTE: Their estimates try to be general and I do not like a general estimate when the cost is over a thousand dollars. They came out and put in the 'heat kit' and the heat worked. The only problem was it would not shut off when it reached the correct temp on the thermostat. We called Northwind and told them of the problem and they sent someone out. This guy was similar to the other in that it took him 4 hours to diagnose the problem and each time he would tell us it was a problem, we would say, "But your guys fixed that." and his story as to what the problem was would change. We were told at least 4 different reasons this was not working. He finally settled on it was a valve on the roof and he had tested it with a magnet. The other problem was the guy would stand around and talk to employees the whole time he was here. Then he called a manager up to the front to tell her he was only going to charge for 2 hours. I was there and heard it and left her to sign. The next morning I get an invoice charging us 4 hours for sending out the village idiot. I immediately called Northwind and was put through to someone named Dale with an attitude. I explained the issue and he had said well you don't have to be upset and I told him I wasn't and was speaking in a normal tone and am just telling him the issue. He apologized and made a comment that he was just saying it because of others?!? Then he told me he was going to check into it and call me back. That was on 1/25, a week ago yesterday, and he still hasn't gotten around to it. I called another A/C company and they immediately found the problem. Whoever put in the heat kit or the person coming to 'diagnose' the overheating issue had burned out an entire circuit board. The actual problem was fixed when they reset the thermostat but now we have to buy a new board to be able to have heat in the front of the building. Northwind used to be good. Undoubtedly they are scraping the bottom of the hiring barrel now due to their growth. The people they are sending out now are incompetent, lazy, and slow. Oh, but they do continuously send you reminders that you have an estimate you haven't agreed to!!! You need to sign it so they can send another village idiot out. USE ANYONE ELSE

This company was amazing at first. I moved into my home in 2023 the ac system was older and Bo came…read moreout and did a few service calls. Then he gave me an estimate on a new Rheem 5 ton outside unit for 8,000.00 to finance with Synchrony bank. He assured me with maintenance this unit would last 25 years. He also explained that eventually I would also need to replace the inside system but it did not need it at this time. As time went on we started having issues with my inside unit. Bo came out the blower had to be replaced I paid them another 1500 to replace it. It kept happening when I asked him for an estimate to replace the inside unit he stated that I would have to replace the entire system even the outside unit he just installed less than 2 years before. When I asked for an explanation he stated they just passed a law that R-22 freon was no longer being manufactured so there was not an inside unit compatible with my outside unit. I am still making payments on the outside unit until October 2026. Bo tried to get me to install another system with him for 13,000. My husband and I could not pay that we had to go without A/C in our home for over a year. I got a couple of quotes from other A/C contractors they stated that Be Cool put to big of a unit on our home which stressed out the inside unit causing more humidity and it to run non stop breaking the blower I had them replace. They also told me the freon issue for the R-22 has been an ongoing since 2010. I got no compensation from this company for there mistake nor did they ever reach out to try and resolve the issue. I would not recommend using this company.

"I'm happy to do a service call but it's gotta wait because I've got people with working no air"…read more That's everything you need to know about John's ethics. I called him because my Lennox machine wasn't blowing cold air. Over the phone, he let me know that Lennox has an issue with evaporator coils and I likely have a leak. I have him come to my house less than 24 hours later and he takes a look at the unit. The unit went into protection mode due to a power surge. John told me over the phone that we would be looking at a major repair because I failed to mention the power surge, so he didn't know. But he looked at the unit and explained to me that a power surge will turn ACs into fan systems, and that all I have to do next time is wait an hour and turn the unit back on. No upsell, just 99 dollars for his time and expertise. I was prepare to spend thousands. At that point, I felt very comfortable with John's ethics. It's a good thing to have. I asked him to do a service on the machines (clean, etc, yearly maintenance) and he told me he was happy to. However, his priority was to get customers with no working AC up and running. I'm okay with that. It's a sign of good principles. Also, he told me he's proud of his install work. I know my machines will break again, and when they do I hope he'll be around to help.
