I was finally able to snatch a Surprise Bag and I absolutely loved it! I got two slices of their Vegan Matcha Raspberry + Pistachio Cake and their Vegan Vanilla Bean Shortbread. The cake was perfection. Perfectly moist, great matcha flavour, the matcha buttercream filling is heavenly, and the raspberries and pistachio compliments the cake. The shortbread cookie were also great.. finished them pretty quickly! I was really impressed. I am definitely planning on getting the next birthday cake from here cause they all look amazing. Two strips of dried banana on top, candied and crunchy. A regular croissant underneath, very flaky and crunchy but still airy. Very well done. It is however stuffed with banana paste which is sweet. Biting down on the croissant the banana paste oozes out a little bit. It is warm and the banana paste plus the croissant makes for an incredible combination - sweet, crunchy, buttery, for a taste combo which is just heaven for any pastry lover. Also had a fruit tart another time I was here which was also very good. Judging by the special, one can see that this place has great baked products!

Their pastry dough was definitely top notch. So buttery and crispy, I really liked spring roll pastry on the top, it was so unique. And I really loved caramelized sugar coating. So delicious. And filling cream was not overly sweet, and it paired with roasted banana so well. Very delicious croissant. For me, this one was one of the best item I tried in 2026 croissant crawl . Highly recommend

Sweet E's is a bit far for me so it is not easy to drop by often. I have tried their cakes before and they were also very nice. This time dropping by, not only did I get the Pavlova, I also ended up getting 6 mini cakes: - Pavlova - 5 stars - light with just the right amount of sweetness. I recommend waiting until later in the summer when mixed seasonal fruit is available. A really delightful dessert. -raspberry-chocolate mini cake - 5 stars - I like the strong raspberry flavour and the raspberry mousse is a bit tart which I didn't mind at all. -vanilla mango - 4 stars - really delightful mango pudding cake. This is good for someone who do not like their desserts too sweet. -lemon - 4 stars - I didn't try this one my self but my brother in law said it taste very typical. Rating: 1 - Poor, 2 - OK, 3 - Good, 4 - Very Good, 5 - Excellent

I also got the passionfruit cheesecake which was out of this world. The service is friendly, and they were very helpful with helping us choose the cheesecakes Ambience, wise, it is nothing to rave about, but it is not bad either. We ordered the Blueberry Earl Grey Dessert Bar and the Strawberry Rhubarb Sweet Crostata, both of which were beautifully balanced and not overly sweet. To drink, we sipped on Burnaby Fog tea lattes, which felt cozy and comforting despite the sunshine. It had a very relaxed, afternoon-tea kind of vibe -- quiet, unhurried, and perfect for lingering. There isn't a ton of seating inside, but the outdoor patio had plenty of space and was a lovely spot to enjoy the weather. Such a sweet way to spend the afternoon, and I can't wait to visit again.

They were helpful & gave good recommendations for dessert that was not too sweet. My friend had the potato puff & it was very good too. The pastry was flaky & soft. We were given a complimentary shortbread for his grand opening. The shortbread was very good that melts in your mouth! If you are ever in New Westminster, check them out. The cakes are still not that great to me. The latest cake I tried was the Dubai chocolate cake. If I eat it as just a chocolate cake, then it's good. As Dubai chocolate, it falls way short. It is lacking the kataifi (or knafeh) bits and I can barely taste the pistachio cream or tahini. The chocolate is probably overpowering the other flavors. Very pretty in presentation though. The blackforest cake is also lacking in the kirsch taste. I can barely taste it. Maybe I had a such a great tasting blackforest cake before that many places do not match up to it. Bottom line: just get the shortbread cookie. Get the cakes only if you're really craving it and this is the only place nearby for it.

We tried a sampling of the small cakes, cupcakes and some items from the pastry case. They were ALL EXCELLENT. Fresh with light balance of flavors as well as a great ratio of sponge to frosting. The banana bread was as good as any home made I've ever had. We've been back twice since that visit, including to get birthday cakes, and Trafiq remains my favorite cake/cupcakes/treats in Vancouver. My recommendation is get there in the morning and have a(n) amazing schmecken and a latte. The (amazing) schnecknen was perfection plus and now as I write this at 4:00pm on a weekday in South Granville I really want a Trafiq Schnecken. I met the owner as well and she was very nice, letting me know that they had taken over management only a couple months ago. Their custom cake looks really epic too! However, I didn't like the two items at all, they were both overly sweet. The muffin was super oily, where it seep through the wrapper and bag, which is shocking because the muffin was actually dry and crumbly...not sure how that works. The muffin also lacked any filling, so it was dry and plain, other than the topping, which was way too sweet. The cookie wasn't that bad, I wished that they used dark chocolate because it was really sweet, and a bit hard. The best cookies for me are the ones that are crispy on the outside but soft in the inside, which this one is hard throughout. I personally don't like sweet things so if you have a sweet tooth, definitely check it out - but I was surprised about the muffin as I never seen such an oily muffin before but that's also dry.
