I'm not sure if it was a-day-old-cake or if they made quality-cuts to their products, because that evening when we cut it up to enjoy, the cake was dry and did not have a nice density. The fruits were soft. Not a ripe-soft. More like old fruit soft. On the plus side, they still use fresh whipped cream, and their 2-bite size chocolate cake is as yummy as ever.

I felt flavor was a bit weak for houjicha, still it was very delicious. Salted caramel was great, strong caramel flavor. I labeled flavor name on the top of cheesecake, so, all guest were so curious about all flavors. Birthday cake, mango, oreo, were popular between kids, adult prefer earl grey salted caramel, others. I was finally able to snatch a Surprise Bag and I absolutely loved it! I got two slices of their Vegan Matcha Raspberry + Pistachio Cake and their Vegan Vanilla Bean Shortbread. The cake was perfection. Perfectly moist, great matcha flavour, the matcha buttercream filling is heavenly, and the raspberries and pistachio compliments the cake. The shortbread cookie were also great.. finished them pretty quickly! I was really impressed. I am definitely planning on getting the next birthday cake from here cause they all look amazing. She said the cakes are wonderful and she orders them here for special occasions. Of course, it was all new to me, so I checked out the display of gorgeous cakes and tarts, and the platters of various cookies and pastries, too. The cakes seemed to be priced from $35-50, which I know is on a par with cake pricing in the city. They all looked beautiful. The small tarts looked to-die-for, but they were $9. That's a lot more than the tarts I've seen anywhere else, really, so I steered away from those. I got a croissant for $4 and a chai latte for $4.50. The croissant was ok. Not the fluffiest I've ever had, but okay. The chai latte was fantastic, one of the best I've had, really. And at the cash they had a plate of gold foiled-covered large homemade caramels, and I got two. Just had one just now and OMG, if you like caramel (as I do), you MUST try these. Truly unbelievably good! As I mentioned in my first paragraph, this place is quite tiny. Like, they had three small tables that seat two people each. (Maybe four, but I think three). So if you plan on meeting a friend for coffee here and dining inside, I'd recommend going at an off-time, for sure. (If it's nice out, there'd be some seating outside. But hey, winter is upon us). One added benefit here: there is plenty of free street parking, all around the cafe. Nice!

Kinako Cherry cheese swill roll was good. Cherry compote dominated the cake flavor, paired with cream cheese well. Kinako powder was very subtle, it was not overly sweet, overall, it was very good. Strawberry jasmine tea was just ok. Strawberry and floral flavor were very subtle. Jasmine tea flavor dominated this drink. When I mixed with Whipped cream on top, it tasted better. Matcha berry opera cake was the highlight! Matcha buttercream and berry ganache paired so well, and surprisingly it was not overly sweet. What I always love about Trafiq's cakes is that their cake is not overly sweet, and have very sophisticated flavor. Black forest cupcake and cookie and cream cupcake's presentation was super cute! The cute rounded buttercream on the top of cupcake caught our eye. Cupcake tasted just ok, sponge was decent and cream was softer than I thought. I liked cookie and cream flavor better. Overall, highly recommend this place's dessert and cakes.
