Bare essential outdoor Arena in Ithaca. Bleachers on only one side and not a lot of seating.

Litters by an audience stand by one of the athletic field

I love this park ... it has a fitness trail you can walk, run or bike, with regular stops with simple exercise equipments (no need to pay for the gym! - the new one by Park Road is especially nice) ... the trail goes along the nice view of inlet and passes through / by (depending on how you walk it) Ithaca Children's Garden, the Turtle Gaia, playgrounds, athletic fields, ice skating rink, dog park, bird panels, and much more. Really nice walk all the way down to the adjacent State Marine Park. They put a chemical called Sonar(?) in water to fight invasive species recently so there is a warning sign all around ... But the littering, as with all the other locations around Ithaca, is really eye sores .... I found a heap of trash by an audience stand at one of the athletic field. Plastic bags and bottles and such. These items do not decompose and hurt our biosphere ... please, I hope people will realize their foolishness, and stop littering. There should be signs all over Ithaca, or wall arts to combat littering ... I love those relatively new wall arts all around Ithaca, but I think adding anti-littering messages will be a very good touch.

Great place to go skating. The pool is a fun place for kids in the summer. So many great childhood memories here.

Everything in the park is mainly around a little driving loop. Myers Park includes 19 available camping sites with each having electric and water hookups. For camping, the nightly fee is $36 for Lansing Residents and $40 a night for Non-Residents. For just generally visiting the park, admission to the park is free for Town of Lansing residents (with ID). Nonresidents are charged $6 per car. Since it's a Lansing park, and not a NYS park, NYS Empire Passes aren't able to get you access. Myers Park does take credit cards as a form of payment though (along with cash, obviously). There is a decently sized playground for kids (which you can see on the Facebook, here: https://www.facebook.com/pages/category/Sports---Recreation-Venue/Myers-Park-Playground-Project-MP3-433430860214/), boat launch, various picnic tables, and beach-y type areas to go into the water (it's not especially sandy... small rocks/gravel-type, mainly). Paddle-N-More is also located within the park if you want to rent canoes or kayaks (though not sure if they're currently renting anything out because of COVID - so check before you go if that's something you're looking for!). TL;DR I've been pleeenty of times over the years because I had family that lived in Lansing. Would I regularly pay the $6 per car now to get into this park? No. (I already have an Empire Pass and prefer to ensure I get my money's worth out of it.) But if it's a nice day, you want to rent a kayak or something, and it's not too crowded? Myers Park is a nice enough spot.

I visited in the winter to see the falls frozen over, and the park rangers had done an excellent job keeping the trail well maintained. It takes about 20 minutes to walk from the parking lot to the waterfall, and there's very little elevation change along the way. North Rim trail entrance was close during winter due to ice and snow. But you can skip the dangerous part of the trail by parking at the Taughannock Falls overlook point and start hiking from there. Then you will reach the upper falls. Parking is only $10. lot is small so warmer weather probably will fill up pretty quickly.

I thought it was a fairly easy 1 mile hike out to the falls (though my coworker vehemently disagrees that 1 mile and easy belong in the same sentence - sorry Miss Sheila!), and there were some falcons swooping around. There is a fee to park, but were still spots remaining when we arrived. We should have received discounted parking with a Military ID, but the booth was unmanned that day, so we paid anyway. There is a restroom facility at the parking lot, and it wasn't bad. I actually think it was heated, so that was nice. I'd be interested in seeing the falls and hiking the upper trail when the weather is better!
