I have only lived in the Dublin area for less then a year and needed to find a mechanic in my area. As everyone knows finding a good mechanic is like finding a $100 bill on the street, priceless. I went on Yelp hoping to get some help in finding that diamond of a mechanic. I am writing this review because I know I found it. Mack was absolutely wonderful very friendly and accommodating. I've been taking my cars to Caspian since 2012 and I wouldn't take them anywhere else. Brian and Lynette are honest, reliable, and responsible. They always give me updates about upcoming maintenance so that I'm never caught off guard, and they always insist that I get the full life out of every part on my car before it is replaced. They are diligent in diagnosing difficult problems. After going to other shops where I would leave with the same problem I went in with I trust that my car will be taken care of! Finally discover the best and most reliable Auto Care. My Chevy Tahoe failed smog 4 times because the "service light engine" was on. Took the car to Auto Tech, and Quality. Both racked me with outrageous bill and worthless effort. Despite repeated visits to these Auto Care, they were unable to fully determine or fix the problem. So I went online and found Caspian Auto Care. Took two days to fix the car and for the first time in two yrs the "service engine light" was off for good. Yes my car was rescued from being donated. My car passed smog today and I am so happy, in fact the smog technician advised that the car emission has improved a lot better than the last failed smog attempt. They are pretty amazing. My wife's car broke down and we towed our car here. She said they were very nice and made her feel very comfortable...they even gave her a ride home. I had the most wonderful experience here. It's run by a husband and wife team who are incredibly friendly and fair in their pricing. They explained to me what they were fixing on my 2003 Honda Civic Hybrid and why. She even gave me a ride home in her own car after I dropped my car off. Some parts needed to be ordered so I had to pick it up and take it back a couple days later. When I initially picked it up that first day, they still had the tires off so they could take the time to explain to me and show me what was wrong and how they would fix it. I came away from the experience more educated and feeling as though I had been close friends with this couple my whole life. If I ever need to get my car fixed again (it's ten years old so I'm sure I will) I will absolutely be bringing it back here and I highly recommend it to anyone else. read more

I took my car for oil change, which I was hoping would turn into a longer term relationship. I talked to Arezoo, asking for the oil change. I also asked asked for visual inspection (which I knew was complimentary everywhere, and she stated so). I was given a work order to sign. The work order listed oil change and was $40 and change. I signed and left for a stroll. I showed up shortly after for the pick-up, and was a bit shocked. I was asked to pay $125 and some change. I was charged $25 for tire rotation (on tires I installed about two weeks earlier), and $60 for inspection (in which they found nothing). I pointed out that the tires were brand new, so the $25 was knocked off. I did not know what to say about the inspection, but my annoyance was clear. To begin with, my work order was clearly for $40. Nothing transpired afterwards. In addition to this, they had my cell phone number, they could have at asked before doing these things. In the end, I was given $15 new customer discount (showing annoyance paid off, still not enough). Still paid close to $86 and left. I would like to add that, the car was worked on for less than 1/2 hours. The original bill presented had more than $100 of labor. While I understand that hourly charges are generally based on some book, and not the actual work time dedicated to the vehicle, I still find it fascinating that labor was at more than $200 per hour. Overall, I was very unhappy. I went there because I read so many raving reviews, and left with the feeling of being taken. I would have given one star, the second was because they were decent enough to acknowledge that the rotation was unnecessary. read more

After doing some research I still couldn't find a good shop. I went to a building for insurance and noticed a hidden gem in the back .I drove my yukon and the 1st thing I noticed was the shop was clean and organised. I liked it already. I told them what I needed and they gave me a price that we agreed up on. Their price was $200 less then the dealer quoted. I made an appointment and brought my vehicle in for work. It was ready at the promised time and no additional charges.I waited 2 months to post a positive review to make sure the issue was taken of permanently. My car broke down in Concord. I wasn't sure what the problem was and immediately assumed it was my transmission from the strange sound coming from below (Car was slowly). From the moment I called Caspian the experience was wonderful. I had to tow my car from Concord to Dublin. When I got to Caspian, the first thing I noticed was the phenomenal customer service. They went in detail with me about the next steps and set my expectation accordingly. Once they reviewed my vehicle they found out what the issue was and gave recommendations. Here is a place that treats you like family. Arezoo is extremely helpful. She even gave me a ride home while they worked on my car and picked me up when it was ready. I requested a 60K tune-up on my PT Cruiser and I thought I'd need an alignment. I did not. It was pulling b/c my tire was very low. So that alone saved me $90. I asked for new wipers and an oil change. They showed me all old parts and my total cost with tax was $360. I feel like I have a new car. They have 5 stars for a reason!! read more

This is a great and trustworthy mechanic shop hidden on a side street in Dublin. I took one of my cars here couple of years ago and never went somewhere since then. Alex who is the mechanic is a very nice and knowledgable guy. He definitely knows his stuff. Doesn't matter if it is an american, european or japanese car. He will find the problem and get it solved. The prices are very reasonable. Especially what you get in return for the service compared to some of the other places. This place is really awesome for a car repair-shop. I felt at home and very comfortable. Firestone at Southland Mall in Hayward had told me that there was oil leakage in my steering system and I have to replace the whole rack and pinion, quoted me $930. I was shopped around for cost of this replacement and landed at this place where they quoted me $800-$850 but first wanted to take a look at my car and see if that is the real problem. Place is operated by a couple, very nice couple, made me feel I was family. Day 1 visit- I spent about 20 mins, while the owner looked underneath my car and said yes there is some sort of leak but not sure where it is coming from. Doesn't think there is problem with rack and pinion system. Recommended to stop by another day so he can clean the whole area so it is easy to see new leaks. Day 2 visit - I spent about 30 mins while he cleaned the whole area, and told me to come by in a few days so he can see where exactly is the leak. Day 3 visit -Spent about 10mins. I went after a few days and he did not see any leak. He said the oil built up might have been there for a while, if there was any leakage it would have been visible.. Said there is some sort of leak but it is very minimal and not noticeable until sometime, and nothing to worry about. Said to come back when due for another oil change This whole time did not charge me a penny. So much hospitality I would highly recommend this place to anyone. I stopped by today to drop off a little gift/token for helping me. I am so glad I found this place! read more

My 2006 Nissan Armada did not start one evening, and I came to Yelp to find the best place to have it serviced. Caspian's stood out as the most highly rated and reviewed service center in the area. I had the vehicle delivered to Caspian's, where they quickly found a dead battery the only engine problem. During the test drive however, they also discovered that the brakes should be replaced. I authorized this additional work and in making this repair they went above and beyond to obtain and install the highest quality, original equipment parts available. Some may see this as a way for shops to charge more, but I appreciate Caspian's efforts to ensure the safety and durability of my vehicle. I felt the pricing was more than fair and my invoice included a generous discount on labor and a first-time-customer discount During this experience, I received constant and very courteous progress reports. What a find! I think it was destiny. My alternator died and the car rolled to a stop, right in front of Caspian Auto. Though I've lived in the area for years, I didn't know it was there. I was promptly and kindly assisted. Lynette, who I found out is a new owner, offered me a ride home. I was given a call with diagnosis and a well-explained cost estimate within a few hours. I have found another shop I trust with my cars. My Family has been going to another shop for years around the corner with our Lexus, Acura, Honda, and Toyota. We haven't found a shop for our other cars....UNTIL NOW! Caspian does outstanding work, and works hard to make sure the job is done correctly. Many places will go for the quick and easy fix, Caspian recommends the right fix. Our Expedition is running like it was 17 years ago because they did their homework and figured out all the issues. My SL500 had a couple of lights come on, and both fixes (one pricey, and the other free) absolutely had the car back on the streets and running like a Mercedes should. If you are looking for an bargain shop, this is NOT the place. That being said, their prices are completely on the affordable side. I am more concerned about them standing behind their work, and looking me in the eye with honesty. Great work Caspian! You have my business and my recommendations! read more

We will never take our cars anywhere else except Caspian. We have taken our Saturns, Mini, Chrysler and Ford Trucks. They are always quick to explain what they have found the problem to be and repair it at a very reasonable price. They often tell us to wait on certain repairs until they are really needed. They also provide a timeline with next service and what each entails so we can plan better for cost and to make sure we are aware of when to have things serviced. We have never had a better car repair service. Although we live in Oakland, it is worth the drive for us to take our vehicles there for honest and good repair service. read more

As an engineer who is also a "car guy," there are a few things I look for in a repair shop: *Mechanical competence (I can quickly sniff this out) *Ability to explain/justify the repair *Reasonable price ("rock-bottom" often scares me - just give me reasonable) *Good customer service My experience with Caspian was first rate. I got stuck with a failed water pump on a Saturday (when many shops aren't even open), and was stuck calling around using Yelp and comparing prices and timelines from various shops. I got a number of different quotes, but Brian at Caspian took the time to give me a range of estimates based on the depth of the problem, and it was clear that he understood the repair before he even looked it up. I for one really appreciated this, and they ended up performing the service for LESS than they quoted (which was already quite competitive). When I picked the vehicle up, they had done a basic evaluation that did not smack of upsell, but was spot-on, and they didn't employ any scare tactics, just mentioned a few things I should keep an eye on. That is what many of us want in a shop, not just fair pricing, but an eye toward fixing what's wrong today and another eye toward being aware of what might become an issue in the future. This is less of a "repair" shop and more of an "auto care" shop, and that's a compliment. Family business, schedule-friendly, high service level and follow-up, good for their word. From now on, this will be my "go-to" for automotive care for my Suburban. read more

I know this because my brother has a shop in Oakland but I am happy enough with the quality and pricing of Caspian that I don't feel the need to drive Oakland when they are local.
