It was pretty quiet (early on a Friday evening). I only saw one employee while I was there and she was very nice. She brought me a glass of water while I waited. The burrito was DELICIOUS. I added tofu to it, which probably wasn't necessary, but I love tofu. I guess I was a little disappointed they didn't really do anything to it. I should not have eaten the whole thing, but I couldn't stop. The chips and salsa were also really good. The chips were very crispy and the salsa was fresh. The prices are really reasonable too! I would go back if I visited again (and I don't think I'd say that about anywhere else I ate).

Just be prepared for a short walk up the back stairs or around the side to reach the entrance. Seating & Restroom: There's both indoor and outdoor seating. The restroom is gender inclusive and wheelchair accessible. Service: Over the past 10 years and many visits, including celebrating multiple birthdays here, service has sometimes felt a bit inattentive or stretched thin. That said, on my most recent solo Sunday brunch visit, the bartender/server was genuinely warm, friendly, and attentive, which made a noticeable difference in the overall experience. It was refreshing and their kind and caring energy was so appreciated. Prices: Prices are very reasonable for the generous portion sizes. Menu & Food: The menu covers a wide range of offerings, which is ambitious and gives plenty of options. I've returned several times to try something new, hoping to discover a standout dish. I haven't quite found anything to write home about yet as most dishes land in the "just okay" category for me. They're filling, but not especially bold, flavorful, or memorable. As someone who really enjoys vibrant spices and layered flavor, I keep hoping the next dish I try will shine, but everything I've had thus far tends to be a bit on the uninspired side. The pancakes have been the most reliable item over the years. They aren't over-the-top, but they're consistently good and comforting. The kids' stack is especially generous and more than enough for most adults. The only French toast option is peanut French toast; a classic version would be a nice addition for those with peanut allergies or folks just looking for regular French toast. On my latest visit, I ordered the migas, which come as four mini tacos with a small side salad. It was decent, though nothing particularly memorable. I ordered a side of hashed potatoes, which were a bit dry. I also ordered a side of the cheese grits, which were unfortunately the low point for me. They were thin and more brothy than creamy. It was a bit like eating nutritional yeast slop. As a Southerner who absolutely loves grits, I'm honestly hoping there may have been a mix-up that day. I'd hate for anyone unfamiliar with Southern cooking, or vegan grits, to think that's the standard, because they can be incredibly rich and satisfying when done well (Sevananda in ATL, for example, has amazing vegan cheese grits), but these were very disappointing. With a little more creativity in the kitchen and perhaps some bolder seasoning or new sauces, the menu could really shine. I truly hope Sluggo's continues to thrive and considers adding more explicitly organic menu options. Just a bit more flavor and flair could really make it a standout.

I ordered the grilled salmon with spicy crab remoulade and my guy ordered the smoked wings with a side of fries. I was happy that I was able to select my own sides from the ones on the menu so I opted for the fried Brussels sprouts with maple and bacon and the buttermilk whipped potatoes. After a short wait, our food was brought out. This was truly one of the best salmon dishes I have ever eaten! The salmon was cooked to my liking, the potatoes were soft and fluffy and the fried Brussels sprouts were absolutely divine and perfect. The remoulade was a little salty but it may have been just been my taste. The potatoes helped with that so it was not a deal breaker. My guy was pleased with his food as well and I could tell he enjoyed everything he ate. We agreed that we would take this trip back just to eat this meal again. It was truly a wonderful experience, from beginning to end. I highly recommend trying this gem out! Pro Tip: The restaurant validates parking. If you park in the lot across the street, do not prepay on the app or online. Ask the servers at the front to validate to save the $18 parking fee before you order and within 15 minutes after entering. Unfortunately, we didn't do this and the restaurant cannot reimburse the money after you've already paid. You've been warned!

I ordered the Whisky and onion smash burger on a gluten free bun and it was so good I tried to replicate the topping with what I had back at the Airbnb we were staying at. When I get home I'll check out the ingredients better and give it another try. I had a side of green beans nicely seasoned with bacon as my side. My husband, bless his heart, ordered the honey pecan chicken salad sandwich on gluten free bread so I could taste it. It was also delicious and he had a side of home fries to die for. We would definitely come back and try more of their menu if in the area again.

This is the first restaurant I tried in Chattanooga and it's a big reason I fell in love with the city. Cashew is a vegan's paradise. Not only do they know exactly how to make jackfruit, but they also have gelato. And it's perfect gelato (coming from someone who used to make gelato for a living.) Today for me it was pretty straight forward, one of soup and sandwich specials of the day, while my daughter ordered a soup and sandwich off their regular menu. Service was quick and friendly as we were a little ahead of the lunch hour crowd. Since it was too cool for us to pick one of the outdoor spots for our meal, we settled into a four-top in the back corner. Total seating whether inside or out is limited, so it's easy to understand why they do a significant carry-out piece of business. The soup was piping hot, and delicious. My muffuletta would have been positively compared to those that I've sampled in New Orleans. Great little meal, and a great call for lunch!

The owner, Greg of course, came over and introduced himself and shook my hand. He asked where we were from and we had a nice conversation about our journeys to Chattanooga residency (both of us were originally from IL!). We ordered the Greg Special (turkey and pimento cheese with jalapeños) and The Italian. Both sandwiches were outstanding but The Italian was the best sandwich I've ever had. No joke. We will be back and I'm going to look for opportunities to use them for catering business lunches! As I said, the service was outstandingly friendly and the establishment was super clean. Please give them a try and I promise you will NOT be disappointed! So, I have an update! My wife and I returned today (two weeks later) and took a friend with us. We got the Italian again and our friend got the club. The place was much busier this time (the weather was much better) but the food was just as outstanding as was the service! The establishment itself was just as clean as well in spite of the increased traffic! Greg was gracious and let us sample their baked desserts (thank you Greg) and they were delicious as well! I needed something quick, light, and close to our company office in Chattanooga. The ratings were strong, the reviews looked promising, and frankly when you call yourself Heaven, expectations go up fast. I'm not asking for miracles... but a great sandwich would be a nice start. First clue something was... developing... was the sign. Still a banner out front. Which usually means one of two things: 1. Brand new and figuring things out. 2. Someone lost a bet with a printing company. Inside felt like a sandwich shop that's been around for decades. Worn floors, chalkboards tossed up on the wall like they lost a game of darts, and the menu scribbled across them in chalk. Not charming-chaotic. More like... chaotic-chaotic. No problem. I'm here for the sandwich. I ordered the #1, because when a place names a sandwich after itself, that's usually the mic drop item. The "Heaven Classic." If you're going to plant your flag, plant it on the best hill. It came out fast. Very fast. Suspiciously fast. I brought it back to the office, opened it up, took a bite... and immediately felt like I'd been transported to the deli aisle of a gas station. "If this sandwich were any more average, it would come with an Oscar Mayer jingle." The bread was actually pretty good. Nice texture, solid foundation. But the filling? It felt like someone stopped at a convenience store, grabbed a pack of cold cuts, and said, "Yep... this'll do." Now here's where the plot twist comes in. Afterward I started digging through the reviews because the disconnect was wild. People were raving about this place. Five stars everywhere. I'm thinking, "Did I walk into the wrong universe?" Turns out... most of those reviews are for Steamboat. Looks like the place changed names sometime late last year. Same location, new name, very different experience. So the glowing reputation may belong to a former tenant. Which leads to my final thought... If this is Heaven, I'd hate to see the alternative. I'm landing at three stars, mostly because I'm feeling generous today and the bread deserved better than the situation it was put in. Would I go back? Probably not. Chattanooga has way too many great sandwich spots to gamble on purgatory again.

It was a lovely day, so we enjoyed our food and flight outside under the shade. The sandwich is really what stole the show - I'm not a vegetarian, but the Veggie Sammie was perfect! It was a decent size (almost too big to fit in your mouth), bursted with flavor, and all of the ingredients appeared very fresh. I will go back for the sandwiches alone, but if I had to pick a fave frosé from the flight, I would pick the OG. The big downside of this place is the price. As much as I dig a fabulous sandwich and a drink, this will hit you in the wallet if you wanted to make a habit of it. On the flip side, though, the restaurant on the corner of the same building is also very pricey so maybe it is par for the clientele/area.
