So my friend and I went to lunch, she has Celiac disease so when we entered I was less than thrilled. However I was amazed and my meal, Jackfruit tacos. They were amazing. Her bowl also looked wonderful. I normally wouldn't have considered a Vegan restaurant but all us non vegans have no idea some of the food were missing. The staff were quite friendly and attentive. I would definitely try again. Cozy and casual right by Coolidge park.

Stopped here on our travels out west and enjoyed every moment of it. Service was great, food was even better, atmosphere was comfortable !! If we are ever back in the area we will make sure to come back! By far the best vegan food I have ever had

Best donuts I've ever had!

Food, service, ambiance, all of it was amazing! Memorable! The donuts were the best I've ever had!

Thai sweet potato and salad

There were so many gluten free options and everything was dairy free- a dream! The food was so flavorful I couldn't get enough and I will be back. I can't wait to try the gluten free desserts!

Gluten free, soy free and other eating restrictions noted on menu items, which is very much appreciated. I got the Buffalo bowl based on the server's recommendation. It was good, but lacked a little depth of flavor. It's a cute space with various seating options. Service was prompt and efficient. Will come back when in town again.

Jackfruit nochos

Our first visit . The waitress was both knowledgeable and friendly. This jackfruit nochos were very very good. The impossible burger good but mild in flavor by comparison. Nice place to eat. We will be back with friends

I really had to stuff this food both into my stomach and into my schedule, but I was glad I did. It's a very hip vegetarian restaurant with a broad, American-ish menu that uses whole food ingredients as well as tofu and Nashville-based fake meats. The buffalo bowl I tried delivered a ton of zing, but a nice nutritional balance, with some pinto beans, tofu, avocado, and kale. My iced tea was fine but nothing special. Their dessert spread, on the other hand, looked pretty convincing, and I took one donut and ate it later. The chai flavor permeated strongly, and while getting a decent texture in a vegan donut is not easy, theirs worked for me, being soft and not overly dry as some such creations are, but also firm enough to be eaten without falling apart. Having said that, the choice was tough, and the other options, including sandwiches with bread from the local bakery of note, tempted me.

Chorizo wrap

Wonderful little place! Nice atmosphere, good service and terrific food. The baked goods are especially awesome (loved the Oreo stuffed chocolate chip cookie). I had the grilled chorizo wrap with garlicky kale and it was perfect down to the panini grill marks.

Buffalo Bowl

We had the buffalo bowl (no avocado) and the philly cheesesteak. Both were amazing! Would definitely recommend this restaurant. The staff were kind and friendly! The ambiance was very peaceful and a nice scenery out the outdoors.

Delicious Chocolate Strawberry cupcake.

I asked my friend Greg for a good Vegan spot in his beautiful city and he recommended Cashew saying "I have never had anything here that I didn't love". With that, we were incredibly excited to try Cashew out. One of the great things, is that because of the nature of the menu SO MANY items are Gluten Free, so I have loads of options. It was so hard to choose from all the deliciousness, so my hubby and I decided to share a few things: Nachos - can I say ERMAGHERRD? Veggie Plate with 3 items - so we could try a few different things. With the veggie plate - we chose Chili, 1/2 Thai Sweet Potato, and the Garlicky Kale. So, Greg was NOT wrong. Everything was beyond delicious! Nachos can be a hit or miss but these were OUT OF THIS WORLD. The Chili was better than mine (mine is super delicious if I do say so myself). The Thai Sweet Potato, creamy, fresh, and super tasty. The Garlicky Kale? OMG **Chef's Kiss** I am not going to lie to y'all... I was hogging the Kale and the Nachos. My poor hubby almost went without. I mean, I shared ... a little. Since they offered GF desserts you know I just had to have one, so I ordered a chocolate strawberry cupcake. YUM! Service was incredible and you can tell that the food is absolutely fresh and made with love. On the trip back we weren't planning on stopping by Chattanooga again but decided to stop for lunch just so we could eat this truly delightful cuisine again. It was a Sunday so unfortunately they were closed. Until next time Cashew. I can't wait to try other things on your menu.

Half eaten but a must share the jackfruit nachos it to die for.

This place is the bomb. OMG. I am not a vegan but like to find interesting and good places to eat and Cashew is one of them. Please please please visit and have a meal here even if you may not be a vegan or vegetarian. This is a must eat.

We went on a Friday night and were a bit surprised that there was no wait for a table. This place is the real deal. Full commitment to the vegan community, you can eat here with total confidence that you are not contributing to animal cruelty. The food is delicious, and there are plenty of options so we can visit often and try different things every time. We really hope to see this place succeed, it is good for Chattanooga, good for the animals, and good for the earth.

This was on my list to try while visiting Chattanooga. I love trying vegetarian places that aren't…read moreall about fake meat. I just got a burrito to go and lucked out with parking in front. It was pretty quiet (early on a Friday evening). I only saw one employee while I was there and she was very nice. She brought me a glass of water while I waited. The burrito was DELICIOUS. I added tofu to it, which probably wasn't necessary, but I love tofu. I guess I was a little disappointed they didn't really do anything to it. I should not have eaten the whole thing, but I couldn't stop. The chips and salsa were also really good. The chips were very crispy and the salsa was fresh. The prices are really reasonable too! I would go back if I visited again (and I don't think I'd say that about anywhere else I ate).

Parking: Street parking is conveniently located right out…read morefront and usually easy to find. If those spots are taken, there's additional parking behind the building. Just be prepared for a short walk up the back stairs or around the side to reach the entrance. Seating & Restroom: There's both indoor and outdoor seating. The restroom is gender inclusive and wheelchair accessible. Service: Over the past 10 years and many visits, including celebrating multiple birthdays here, service has sometimes felt a bit inattentive or stretched thin. That said, on my most recent solo Sunday brunch visit, the bartender/server was genuinely warm, friendly, and attentive, which made a noticeable difference in the overall experience. It was refreshing and their kind and caring energy was so appreciated. Prices: Prices are very reasonable for the generous portion sizes. Menu & Food: The menu covers a wide range of offerings, which is ambitious and gives plenty of options. I've returned several times to try something new, hoping to discover a standout dish. I haven't quite found anything to write home about yet as most dishes land in the "just okay" category for me. They're filling, but not especially bold, flavorful, or memorable. As someone who really enjoys vibrant spices and layered flavor, I keep hoping the next dish I try will shine, but everything I've had thus far tends to be a bit on the uninspired side. The pancakes have been the most reliable item over the years. They aren't over-the-top, but they're consistently good and comforting. The kids' stack is especially generous and more than enough for most adults. The only French toast option is peanut French toast; a classic version would be a nice addition for those with peanut allergies or folks just looking for regular French toast. On my latest visit, I ordered the migas, which come as four mini tacos with a small side salad. It was decent, though nothing particularly memorable. I ordered a side of hashed potatoes, which were a bit dry. I also ordered a side of the cheese grits, which were unfortunately the low point for me. They were thin and more brothy than creamy. It was a bit like eating nutritional yeast slop. As a Southerner who absolutely loves grits, I'm honestly hoping there may have been a mix-up that day. I'd hate for anyone unfamiliar with Southern cooking, or vegan grits, to think that's the standard, because they can be incredibly rich and satisfying when done well (Sevananda in ATL, for example, has amazing vegan cheese grits), but these were very disappointing. With a little more creativity in the kitchen and perhaps some bolder seasoning or new sauces, the menu could really shine. I truly hope Sluggo's continues to thrive and considers adding more explicitly organic menu options. Just a bit more flavor and flair could really make it a standout.

There are tons of vegan options, and you don't have to look too hard for gf options if that's your jam. The store itself is packed with amazing health food items like mushroom coffee, shilajit, matcha, electrolytes, and so much more. They also have a refrigerated grab-and-go section with fresh juices, rice paper rolls, chia seed pudding, and a lentil casserole. The glass dessert case is full of vegan treats like peanut butter and chocolate cups, bliss balls, and donuts. The menu is extensive with tons of great organic vegan options. I ordered the grilled cheese sandwich on sourdough (they also offer gluten-free and multigrain) with cashew cheese and a side of chili. I also got a beet juice, a lemon lavender muffin, chia seed pudding, and a decaf oat milk latte. The sandwich was pretty good. The bread seemed really fresh and I enjoyed the cashew cheese. The side of chili had a slight twist that elevated it above most regular chili recipes. It was good, but had a little too much corn for my taste personally. The beet juice was delicious and a generous portion. The desserts were just okay, but I appreciated that they weren't overly sweet and didn't have any weird ingredients. Honestly, it's just so nice knowing your food has no weird ingredients and everything is organic! The only downside was the coffee. Honestly, it was probably one of the worst I've ever had. Maybe it was just an off day or a mistake, I'm not sure. Everything else was good though! I would definitely recommend this spot. The decor is really cute and inviting. I love that they offer plenty of seating options too -- indoor, an enclosed outdoor patio, and an exterior exposed patio. Logistical Notes: Parking was super easy with a lot right out front. There are two accessible bathrooms for people with disabilities, and I love that they have a gender-inclusive restroom as well. You order at the register, they bring you your food, and then you bus your own "tray."
