I ordered take out here while visiting Chattanooga. First, I'll say the takeout experience was seamless. I ordered online. Food was ready exactly on time and everything needed was in the bag. Eco-friendly, sustainable take out containers were a plus. Though brief a brief interaction, the service was great. On to the food - I tried three of the most popular items. In general, what I liked was the ingredients were clearly fresh and whole foods. The cheesy mac was by far my favorite. Savory, rich, the true form of vegan soul food. By far my favorite. If I return, I would order as my entree. The loaded sweet potato and the buffalo bowl were both OK. They were absolutely fine, but not something that I'd come back for (easily something I could throw together at home). All in all, great experience. When I'm back in town, I'd love to try other things on the menu. read more

Found this place by accident a few years ago. Now every time I go to or through Chattanooga, I make sure to stop. It is all vegan. The meatball sub is so good that I get one for now and one for later. The chicken salad is great, I bring some home for the week. It's hard to get the cashew cheese to go since it sells out so fast. Happy I finally got to try this place. I ordered the bbq jackfruit sandwich, garlicky kale and kombucha. My mom ordered the jackfruit nachos and iced chai and we ordered the kids macaroni & cheese. The jackfruit sandwich came with slaw it was delicious! The kale was great too. The jackfruit nachos were so good and the Mac & cheese was very tasty it also came with fruit. This was our first time trying jackfruit it was cooked perfectly. I couldn't tell it was not meat. Everything was delicious. I've been a vegan for about 8 years now, and rarely do I have the pleasure of experiencing such amazing food as I did here -- and that was during a pandemic, when they can't operate at their normal capacity. When I walked in, I was a little overwhelmed by all the options, but the counter lady patiently and politely described all the menu items, how they operate, and what she recommended. They are very careful to sanitize and whatnot right now, which inspires a lot of trust. Once you order, they will pack it in to-go boxes with utensil packs. Either eat outside or take it to go. I decided to order the jackfruit nachos, a Philly cheesesteak, and a slice of cookie dough cake. Usually I'd order a burger - more my style - but I've had both the impossible and the beyond several times before and figured if I'm at a vegan restaurant I may as well try something I can't normally find or make myself. The jackfruit nachos are EXCELLENT. So good. The cookie dough cake was also amazing. Not the biggest fan of the cheesesteak, but I think that's personal taste - haven't had one before and just didn't know what one was supposed to taste like. The "meat" in it wasn't my favorite. I had some mac and cheese as a side for the sandwich instead of chips, and it was okay; not too much flavor to it, but nice and creamy. The cookie dough cake was amazing. This is a nice place to get cozy in, enjoy a homemade chai latte and peanut butter chocolate donut on a rainy afternoon. The staff were quick to take my order, knowledgeable when asked about ingredients, and part of the restaurant experience by asking each customer if they were enjoying their food and drink at each table. Charming place in a great location. The food is delicious. I've been here twice but I've had the Impossible Burger both times so I can't speak to anything else on the menu but I'm sure it's delicious! I did have a side of chili Mac today and it was also delicious with some shell noodles and vegan cheese in it. I may just have a huge bowl of chili next time I go, which will be soon. I did have dessert today and it was the best vegan cupcake (s'mores) I've ever had! I like the seating and decoration and I love the plants Seriously, even if you're a "meat eater" you should come try out Cashew. Everyone is bound to find something delicious to eat here. The only feedback I have is the two times I've been in the fried/fryer smell has been pretty strong. The first time it was so smokey we had to sit outside. We only get so many meals when visiting a new place. I was very pleased to have used one of those meals at Cashew. We came with a meat eating friend from the area who proclaimed her promised return in the near future. Part of the beauty of cashew is it is making great vegetable forward dishes, that can be enjoyed by all independent of their usual diet, and are not using fake meat to win us over. The Mushroom and walnut balls came on a bed of perfectly prepared kale with a cashew and tomato sauce on top. While you would expect kale to be handled correctly in a vegan restaurant that is not always the case. At Cashew the kale was clearly massaged so I did not need to chew like a cow working their cud in order to swallow. The food was extremely well seasoned and did not use heavy amounts of salt or fat to creat bold flavor profiles. Desert is a must, Cashew pulls of some incredible textures joined by many innovated flavor combinations. Take you time choosing, get one with your meal, and a few to go. You will tank me. read more

Super attentive as well The food was absolutely delicious, especially the marinera sauce and the BBQ sauce. The meatball texture was nice and with the flavor of the sauce, it felt like a traditional meal. The jackfruit bbq was really good, but was definitely not the texture of bbq meat, but I was fine with it since I ate it with tortilla chips. The Cole slaw was super yummy and the cheese they put over it was really nice. Just awesome! Love this place! I've been here quite a few times and now it's time to review! A neat space and laid out quite nicely. A bit on the small side, but I've always managed to get seating. The staff are super friendly and efficient. Ah, the food! I've had just about everything on the menu and it's been great! I'm not vegan or vegetarian, but it's a goal to shoot for and this place helps. I'm particularly fond of the cheesesteak, Beyond burger and Impossible burger! Really love their chili too. Food is pretty delicious. Service is amazing. However, a simple burger with no cheese or special sauce or sides is pretty expensive here. The side that comes with the sandwiches is dry tortilla chips with no salsa. It's a very curious choice. Once you add cheese and a real side to the burger this place becomes expensive and unpleasant, which sucks because vegan options are already limited. Also, they are closed on Monday, which also sucks when there aren't many vegan restaurants in town. read more

My love's favorite dessert is coconut cream pie and making it gf/df was just not in the cards for me. Three visits in three days should be all you need to know to get yourself to Cashew! My daughter had eaten here several times when work brought her to town last year. So when she planned a getaway for us Cashew was on the top of her list. As we drove into town we went directly to the restaurant for lunch and took it to go eat in the adjacent park. We sampled three sides- Mac & cheez, cup of chili and a half a Thai sweet potato. Everything was so flavorful! The next day we went for dinner and each had their fish sandwich special which came with a side. I tried chili Mac which was a scoop of Mac & cheez doused in chili and my daughter had a half a southwestern sweet potato. Again a winner, the bun was perfectly moist and not some dry white roll. Third day before leaving town we stopped for lunch and had the special Banh Mi sandwich with corn chowder, yet another winner. We bought a pecan white chocolate blondie bar and a carrot cake cupcake for the road. Their desserts are just as delicious as their main menu items, so packed with flavor! I think the pecan bar was my favorite. They have a case of drinks and deli items to grab and go, even carry our Nashville local BeHive items! A vegan place on the North Shore in downtown Chattanooga. So I guess that means no animal fats or anything like that right? It was a decent little place for someone that considers vegetables what food eats. While we were there for lunch, they did crowd up quickly. They also have a few local draft beers which I really appreciated. I am assuming that was vegan too, although I couldn't tell you the difference between a vegan beer and non-vegan beer if that is a thing. I got the Thai sweet potato with extra peanut sauce. Now, I would consider this meal as a side. However, it was really good. It literally tasted like peanut butter with better texture and cross with the carrots in it. And it was a big portion, I could not finish it. Now, I can see myself going here again or not. It's not really my thing, I love beef steak chicken and or fish. If it's the flesh of a creature, I'll give it a shot with enough hot sauce regardless of what it is. It's a lot healthier way to take care of the world around us and I like it for that. And I love the ideals that this type of food aspires to.
