If you find yourself passing through Eagleville, Firehouse 54 is a total hidden gem. It's exactly…read morewhat you want from a small-town spot--great food, friendly service, and a local vibe that makes you feel right at home. The Food They are known for their hand-stretched pizza, and the crust is definitely the highlight. It has that perfect chew and char. The Pizza Bowls: A great option if you're trying to stay low-carb but still want all the pizza flavors. Taco Tuesday: If you're lucky enough to be there on the 2nd or 4th Tuesday of the month, the tacos are a must-try. Just a heads up--they usually only do tacos on those nights, so no pizza then! The Vibe It's a cozy, "hole-in-the-wall" kind of place in the best way possible. It's where the locals hang out, and the staff is incredibly welcoming to travelers. Because they are only open for a few hours in the evening (5 PM - 8 PM), it can get busy quickly, so showing up early is a good move. Things to Know Hours: They have a short window, so plan your drive accordingly! Parking: Plenty of easy street parking right in front. Takeout: They do a brisk carry-out business if you're just passing through on the I-35 and want a better meal than typical fast food.

Pizza Ranch - For dessert, make sure you try Cactus Bread - warm cinnamon streusel with a swirl of icing.

It's very clean inside though and the salad bar seemed fresh and great. It's sad they haven't yet figured out how to cook a pizza without it browning down like a 3 year old trying to roast a marshmallow over the campfire. We've tried this location several times since it reopened and it is just miserable every time (with the exception of the salad bar). If you do dare to try it, don't come after 7. The buffet closes at 8 but they don't make anything after 7. We got there just before 730 and nothing but the old burnt pizza dregs were left out and whatever chicken and runny mashed potatoes. A few pieces of dessert pies, runny ice cream, and the salad bar finished it off. The kicker is that they start vacuuming and cleaning already by then so you've got the loudest vacuum in existence going on while you try to extract what little joy might be in your gas station leftovers quality pizza. The service was fine and the people seemed very nice. We ordered one custom pizza but it came out to the table pretty burned for a pizza. I wouldn't have been able to tell what kind it was if I hadn't ordered it myself. The pizza wasn't quite burned black, but if it were a person, you would have needed dental records to identify it. The salad bar was the only good thing, however, you need really long arms to reach half of it. They have it against a partition so access is only from one side. The guards are so low you have to squat down and fully extend your arms to reach the stuff on the back row. I felt like I was noodling for catfish in the river banks. I'm not sure how this helps with cleanliness or food safety when people's arms are mere centimeters or less from all the other salad items. Needless to say we won't be going back to this pizza ranch again.
