No chicken came out soggy when they did bring some out!!!! Don't recommend anyone very under experienced.

The pizza was all but burnt. The ambience of the place reminded me of a dentist's office with a wagon wheel. It's too commercial/industrial with zero character--just kind of cold. It's very clean inside though and the salad bar seemed fresh and great. It's sad they haven't yet figured out how to cook a pizza without it browning down like a 3 year old trying to roast a marshmallow over the campfire. We've tried this location several times since it reopened and it is just miserable every time (with the exception of the salad bar). If you do dare to try it, don't come after 7. The buffet closes at 8 but they don't make anything after 7. We got there just before 730 and nothing but the old burnt pizza dregs were left out and whatever chicken and runny mashed potatoes. A few pieces of dessert pies, runny ice cream, and the salad bar finished it off. The kicker is that they start vacuuming and cleaning already by then so you've got the loudest vacuum in existence going on while you try to extract what little joy might be in your gas station leftovers quality pizza. The service was fine and the people seemed very nice. We ordered one custom pizza but it came out to the table pretty burned for a pizza. I wouldn't have been able to tell what kind it was if I hadn't ordered it myself. The pizza wasn't quite burned black, but if it were a person, you would have needed dental records to identify it. The salad bar was the only good thing, however, you need really long arms to reach half of it. They have it against a partition so access is only from one side. The guards are so low you have to squat down and fully extend your arms to reach the stuff on the back row. I felt like I was noodling for catfish in the river banks. I'm not sure how this helps with cleanliness or food safety when people's arms are mere centimeters or less from all the other salad items. This was a great place for buffet pizza! I love that there was a variety of pizza options and the pizza didn't have too much bread on it. The buffet also included fried chicken, salad Mac n cheese, mashed potato and chicken fingers. The fried chicken was crispy. The best part is it comes with drink and soft serve ice cream (you can make root beer floats if u like). They also have a "dorthy Lynch" salad dressing that was refreshing. Their dessert pizza was just right as well. It was a pizza version of a cinnamon bread but didn't look like it at all, again I like that it wasn't full of bread. Get your pizza with grease. I am used to pizza having grease but when there is so much grease that you get sick afterward when you only had 2 slices of pizza and 3 slices of cheese bread something is wrong. The staff could be a lot more attentive. My mother and I decdied we wanted pizza and stopped here for the buffet at 7pm. We paid and were not asked if we wanted a specific pizza laid out. When checking the buffet all they had was cheese bread, cheese pizza, sausage pizza, and there dessert pizza. This was a very sad selection. When looking around there were a lot of children there or elderly people for a sunday night. After both of us grabbed a salad I went up front and put a pizza order in. Once given a number I went back to our table. Soon we were approached by someone whos name tag read "Walk the Line" she asked us how long we had been waiting for our pizza because apparently it is well known that do not take orders very well for the buffet. Walk the line then proceeded to stop at our table another 4 times before our pizza ever arrived. She was also acting like a hall monitor walking around with her dish cart slow and purposeful. Once we got our pizza, half of it was missing. We were told it was so hot when they put it on the tray that it fell off. I have a feeling it was so greasy that it slid. This used to be a great place. Both my mother and I have decided we will not be getting food from here again. We do not getting sick. read more

Food was ok. Didn't seem as flavorful as it used to be. New decor is boring and has lost all the prior ambiance. No resemblance to "ranch". Just looks like every other chain restaurant. Is now just another place to eat. Sad. Had been so excited about the reopening. read more

WORST delivery service I have ever experienced!!! When I placed my order around 6 p.m., I was told it would be around one hour for delivery. Seemed a bit long, considering I was having it delivered to the hospital directly across the street from Pizza Ranch, but I ordered it anyway because I didn't have a car and I didn't want to walk there in the pouring rain. An hour and a half later, I called to see where my food was. Some woman claiming to be a manager found my order ticket and part of my order sitting around and offered me a discount with the assurance that she would have my order remade and deliver it herself. An hour later, now 2-1/2 hours since I placed my order, it showed up. I was tempted to tell her I didn't want it anymore, but my friend, the patient I was visiting, was hungry, and so was I. I do think the best part of my story happened when I got back to my friend's room. The food was COLD!! All of it! And it only had to cross the street to be delivered. In my opinion, they should be ashamed of taking my money - discount or not - for the garbage they delivered. read more

Pizza Ranch is just plain awful. I know it is an Iowa "institution", but it really is an insult to pizza. The only reason we come is when visiting local relatives, and we will not go against their wishes. This will be the only reason we ever go. We have eaten here several times, hoping it would get better, but it hasn't.. Glorified covered cardboard, with mediocre ingredients are the "highlight"...just...not...good. At all. read more

Rode in on Ragbrai, hungry, wet from rain and tired and ready to chow down at the local Pizza Ranch, rode extra miles across town to discover that they were closed from 1 to 5 to "prepare of Ragbrai ". Clearly a poorly run establishment that missed out on what could have been their highest grossing day of the year. read more

Pizza Ranch is definitely the best pizza in this area. Their buffet is always stocked, and they will actually bring out whatever pizza you want if your favorite isn't on the buffet already. Their dessert pizza is DELICIOUS! The staff is always really friendly as well. Definitely recommend. read more

I used to come here a lot, for the great pizza, chicken and salad, Until today. The food was great, as usual, BUT there was a roach climbing up the side of my booth!!! Ick. It is probably time to continue the bug spraying and not try to save a few bucks by not spraying. You know it's bad when the roaches get past the kitchen. It ruined the whole experience for me and I won't be back any time soon. I didn't bother getting a manager because they would probably think I just want a freebie. Stop by Pizza Ranch 3/15/17 The cashier ask if we had any special requests my son told him. A short female server with blonde hair came out with a order she had the biggest attitude looking like she was sucking on a bag of sour patch grapes. It wasn't what he had ordered so, she rolled her eyes quickly turned around as if it was the worse day of her life. To top it off the young 6'3 or so in hight cashier comes to the table telling my son what he ordered basically trying to use intimidation and stormed off. The female server stood in a door way were they bring out food (which they didnt bring out anything fresh when I was there) her arms were folded just staring at our table. Unbelievable!!! The worse services I've ever had at a restaurant. These people were ridiculously rude totally uncalled for. The chicken was very dry and had old pizza out. The food as much as the service was unpleasant. If your going through Atlantic, Iowa do not go to Pizza Ranch. I was very disappointed. read more

This is the BEST pizza and the BEST buffet! The staff is friendly and wonderful! And just think, the corporation is owned by faithful Christians who seek to do business in ways that honor Jesus Christ! May God richly bless them for their fine Christian witness! read more
