What a great experience with some really good people! Long story short is that we had been looking to purchase a chipper/shredder and we'd had some rotten luck with a couple of models, so we decided to bite the bullet and go to the top of the line. Problem is, that brand isn't easy to find and they ship from the factory to elite dealers who then either ship from there, or you pick them up. So, we ordered from Bob and the gang at Cascade, and planned a road trip! Bob was great about following through with the company, and keeping us posted on the status- oh, yeah...cause we were also on a timeline for a vacation and wanted to pick up before we left... Spent $200 for a generator fix. To leave and have the same issues I had before I brought it in. After I called to ask they told me other things that "could" be the issue. But that would be 800. Waste of $200. Said there was water in the gas line, not sure how that's possible when it has a seal. Dropped it off with a full take of gas, empty on return. No proof of any of their fixes. So waste of $200 plus 5 gallons of gas that was supposedly bad. read more

I just had my mower blade sharpened. I thought it was too bad to sharpen. He said yes, it was probably too bad a chip but he'd give it a try. I said that was OK if he couldn't fix it, I had a blade on order and the grass wasn't getting any shorter. Success! I have had issue with this shop before, but thought I would give them another try when my chipper wouldn't start... They are unreliable, don't follow through and recommend services and parts that are unnecessary. After trying to get me to replace the engine and carburetor for over 500$, I replaced the carb myself (with no prior experience) for 20$. Sent a Toro battery to them for warranty since we do not have a service center locally. After 4 months and several different versions of what happened to my battery and charger they would not even talk to me on the phone. Even Bob the owner would not return my calls. Finally had a friend in Eugene go in in person face to face and they gave me a brand new battery. Never again the only thing there customer service is good at is dodging your calls. read more

Avoid Cascade Garden Equipment at all costs. I brought my power washer to Cascade Garden Equipment since gas was leaking out the carburetor and was told by two employees, one of which wrote up my order, that it was likely a stuck float. I left it and not long after I got home I had a phone call that they replaced the carb and to come pick it up. The cost of repair was $139.00. After getting it home it started but was belching blue smoke and barely running before quitting altogether. I brought it back and two days later I get a call telling me the cam was broken and it would cost more to repair than to buy a new machine. Then I was told I was fortunate they wouldn't charge me for their evaluation, not a hint of their own failed diagnosis. Trust me, I am totally comfortable in going down and getting in their face for the terrible customer service and thievery, but it wasn't worth my time. Shame on them. There's many small engine repair shops all over Eugene, don't blow your time on money on Cascade Garden Equipment. read more

I've taken my electric cub cadet riding mower to have them to have warranty repairs done, twice. The first time cub cadet and the ship couldn't procure the parts to fix it. Ok, no big deal, we got it worked out. But at that time, they were supposed to be current on their training and diagnostic equipment. When my second issue popped up, I called to verify things are still current. Took my mower to them. It was there over 3 weeks with no progress. I called many times and got conflicting information from the same people. They blamed cub cadet for lack of support and parts/hardware. We finally parted ways and I took my mower to a different shop, within 24 hours they've diagnosed and repaired the problem. I would never take my mower here again. I would never buy anything here. I'm appalled at the level of service. read more

Really bad experience with this store. The so-called manager - if she is indeed such, first messes up starting the warrant 3 weeks before I can pick it up, then did not commit to agreement of making it availabe to pick up on 12/22 around 1pm or earlier ( the cstore closed at nnon without warning), and better yet, she wanted me to pay for the time spent talking to me on the phone making the arrangments ( that she actually failed to keep) and for keeping the generator in store; so a charge for restocking would occur ( mind you that never left the store, was open or anything)....so laughable, pathetic and unprofessional. I do landscape maintenance and have been buying my equipment at Cascade Garden for 20 years. I love the lightweight Red Max trimmer and the Honda commercial mowers. If I need maintenance on the equipment, the service department at Cascade Garden is fast, and professional, and most of all, very friendly. I am so glad that Cascade Garden Equipment is here in Eugene and so easy to park at with my truck and trailer! read more

Old fashioned ways aren't always bad. Proven on Saturday by Cascade Garden Equipment. All I did was order a grass bag. Which was a good experience. Where their service was over the top was when I asked about the easiest way to remove last year's fuel. Not only did they complete this task, they topped off the oil and made sure that it started. Took my Hustler mower to them because it wouldn't start. They had it for 20 days. They replaced the fan clutch then told us we needed a pro switch And maybe a wiring harness. Then the only riding Lawnmower mechanic that they have was sent to the hospital. I called to check on my mower. Jessica just laughed and told me I could pick it up if u want but what happens if was out of her control. I gave them another week. Picked it up today. Was starting but pto didn't work. Bob and Jessica were not overly helpful. They told me that they did a service on the mower but the blades weren't sharpened. Took it to another mechanic he took one look at it, changed the pto switch because your mechanic said it was and I already paid for it. Still nothing. He checked the fuse and it was blown. Replaced the fuse and now everything works great. Your mechanic was going to charge me more for wiring harnesses and such. Terrible service. Will not be going back there again. read more

Last week my chainsaw was not running very well. I took it apart and diagnosed it as an easy carb adjustment. I did not however have the tool to adjust the carb. I called around and was informed that the EPA has banned the selling of such tools at stores, because only professionals should be adjusting them. I could buy one on Amazon, but would need to wait a week for it to get here. I called Cascade Garden Equipment in Eugene, they said it would be between $15 & $20 to fix it. I took it down and dropped it off on Wednesday of last week. I got a call today that my saw was ready to get picked up. When I went and picked it up (Practicing social distancing) - She informed me that they had to replace all of my fuel lines and that my bill was $139.99 - I was shocked at the price and told her so..... I can buy a brand new Poulan Pro Saw for $149.99 at Bi-Mart I told her. She said she would get the tech. She did, he gave me a song and dance about the amount of work it took. I explained to him that the professional thing to do would be to call someone if the work is going to cost as much as buying something brand new. He insisted that he wouldn't have known it would cost that much because the carb is so hard to get into. This is where I really got frustrated. I took it to him for ease, not because I couldn't do it myself. It took no longer than 10 minutes to take the cover off and take the carb off and know that it was going to be more work than I had brought it in for. read more

I brought my mower to Cascade Garden Equipment for repairs. They promised to call me mid-week to update me on whether the repairs would be covered by warranty. When I called on Wednesday, I was told they had not even looked at it yet. After multiple follow-up calls, I was given conflicting information and ultimately hung up on. When I finally received a text message to pick up my mower, I was shocked to find out I had a hefty bill without any prior warning. I had a terrible experience with Bob, Jessica, and Crystal... especially Jessica. I received the worst customer service I've ever had from her and would not recommend Cascade Garden Equipment to anyone. Honestly the worst experience I've ever had as a customer anywhere ever. Working with them was a terrible decision and I regretted trusting them with my mower the whole time. I feel like I got robbed. I will never go back and would highly suggest you don't either. Horrific customer service and service I COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED OR DEATH DUE TO THERE NEGLECT! I called due to a problem with a repair TO MY LAWN MOVER from a year ago I used the lawn mover one time before we ended up moving. I went to use the lawn mover for the first since the move about a month ago. The mover started sparking and it turned out a bolt was not tightened and there was $160 in damage. I had another company pick up the lawn mower to asses what was wrong with it. When I was told the problem I called the Cascade and informed them of what happened. I have phone records to prove it I was on the phone for 4 minutes on 06/08/2021 at 3:29pm the representative on the phone said over and over you called a different place even though I didn't..... I offered to send a copy of my phone bill showing that I did call the right place. The first person I spoke with said that some one tried to call the other place but no one answered or called back so they didn't call me back. The woman on the phone said no one said that. THIS IS NOT OK THE LAWN MOVER HAD SPARKS COMING FROM IT DUE TO POOR WORKMANSHIP DO NOT GO TO THEM I WILL BE LOOKING INTO FURTHER ACTION! DO NOT GO HERE YOU WILL REGRET IT! read more

If I could I'd give this place zero stars, or better yet negative stars, I would. We took two mowers and one weed eater to this shop for tune ups... We wanted to put one mower and the weed eater on consignment after the tune up. I talked to the owner at the time of drop off, and he said - and wrote on the receipt - for consignment. So, after a couple of weeks, we go down to pick up the one mower... I watch as an employee brings out two mowers and one weed eater. I tell the employee, I wanted to put the one mower and weed eater on consignment. He said, we don't do consignments...to which I say, I talked to that guy (pointed to owner) when I dropped off the mowers and weed eater, and at that time he said he would do consignments - then, I show him the receipt that the owner had written 'for consignment' on... The employee then took the receipt, and walked back into the office...he shows the receipt to the owner, who then shakes his head no (I could see all this over the counter, through the window)... The employee then comes out, and says, 'I'm sorry, we aren't taking consignments now'. A little infuriated - I tell the employee, 'Tell the owner to come out here and tell me himself'. The employee replies, 'He's not coming out'... We then paid for the 'tune ups' to the mowers and the weed eater, and left. After getting the equipment home, I check the mowers, and they didn't even sharpen the blades... Needless to say, I can't really write what I think of this place or of the owner, because it would violate the terms of use on Yelp... I will let you come to your own conclusion... My advice - I would avoid this place like the plague. read more

I had to have my portable generator serviced for a valve adjustment and Cascade was listed as a Generac authorized repair center. Dropped off the generator on a Friday and they said they weren't busy so it would be done by Tuesday. Called on Wednesday and they said they'd forgotten to get to it but would right away. Called the next Monday and they said they broke the valve cover gasket and had to order one. Called on Wednesday to get an update and they said they couldn't give me an ETA but could be a few weeks. I got a call the following Friday and was bluntly told to come and pick up my generator as they were not going to finish the valve adjustment. I was told the owner had decided not to work on Generac products anymore and so they had no choice but to tell me to come and get my generator. However, it was still partially disassembled and they simply said I'd have to buy a gasket and finish the job myself ! So here I sit with an inopperable generator ... read more

They were rude didn't tell me there was a $45 fee per saw to just look at them . They said they would call back after they looked at them never did so I had to call them and they said all 3 saws needed a carburetor and it would cost $100 dollars each plus labor they put a carburetor kit in one and never told me or asked if it was ok. I looked it up and the carburetor was only $12-$15 online and about $2 shipping each. Beware go somewhere else if you can and I told them I wanted any parts they took off and never did. read more

Walked in here to get a quote on a tune up for my mower, the owner behind the counter didn't greet me or make eye contact after standing in front of him for almost 5 minutes. I had to initiate conversation for him to look up from his book that he was looking at. He quoted me almost 3 times what all other places are asking.... apparently he doesn't believe in the good custom service in to sales approach. i brought my DR trimmer to them i told them there was something seriously wrong with it..they just changed the belts ..when i tried to use it it started smoking the the mud flap fell off as they left a pin out..then the handle bars snapped off as they did not tighten the bolt that held them..the guy Mike said later that he could tell they were cracked before they broke and that when the broke they pulled the pin from the mud flap..Bullshit these guys are scum..i looked at them too no rust new break these scum lie to your face and smile they treat you like an idiot ill see this scum in court.. read more

We took our mower in because it would not start. They did a tune up for $98 and when we got home it would not start. They replaced the recoil and we brought it home. As it was the end of mowing season, it went into the shed. Got it out yesterday and after several tries it finally started but runs incredibly rough. Mowed with it yesterday and today it will not start. Can't say I am impressed with their work and after reading the other three reviews I feel I am not an isolated incident. :-( read more

SLOW service. It took over 6 weeks for the repair of my mower. When calling about status, they told me the carburetor parts weren't delivered yet. I DIDN'T need carburetor repairs! Upon pickup of the mower, the clutch engage would not disengage-- very dangerous to operate like this. It worked perfectly when I brought it in. So, had to leave mower longer to get that fixed (when it wasn't broken in the first place.) I'm not planning on returning here -EVER. read more

Don't bother using this place. I've used them once before to have a lawn mower tuned & they did a decent job. So, I brought in 2 blowers for service & was told they would be ready in 1 week. A week & a half later I call to see if they're ready & I'm told they'll be done within the next 2 days. So, here it is 3 weeks later & I still don't have my blowers & I'm told they will be done tomorrow. Yeah right! I drove down, explained the situation & told them that I wanted my blowers. They brought them out & put in my truck. They hasn't even been touched. I said as much & the owner just looked at me and said sorry. Nothing more, nothing less. He turned & walked back into the shop area. If he was truly sorry, he would have offered to do it right then or offered a discount. But no, I get back 2 blowers 3 weeks later, in the same condition I brought them in. Obviously these guys are busy enough that they don't need any more work. read more

Don't use these guys! I have never written a review - positive or negative for a business, but I am so frustrated with Cascade Garden Equipment I decided to share my experience as a way to try and alleviate that frustration. Only 2 other reviews have been submitted, but they both validated my experience. I have been taking mowers to this place for 3 years. I have some rentals that I supply with mowers, so I usually bring in 2 or 3 each spring to get tuned up. Twice now a mower has gotten lost in their seemingly non-existent organizational system and they've had it forever. As of today, I still do not have my mower and I brought it to them on March 30th, 2015. That was almost 6 weeks ago. When I brought the mowers in I was told 1 week, as the other reviewer said. Heard nothing after about a week and a half, so called. Was told one was ready, the other needed parts and would be ready in about another week. I wanted to avoid going out twice to get 1 mower each time, so waited for the promised call. Of course it never came. I called again, was told they didn't know whether the part had come in, but there was a big pile of boxes waiting to be opened and they'd check. The next time I called, problem was that instead of a lifter for each side of the mower being sent, 2 lifters for the same side were sent. I finally went and picked up the 1st mower (and paid about $150) b/c it had been close to a month by now and the grass keeps growing! At that point I expressed my frustration directly to them - how long it had been, how nothing seems to progress unless I called, how I was having to come back two times to get 2 mowers b/c it was taking so long to get the 2nd fixed, how this had happened another year when I brought mowers to them. The response I got was a lot of explaining, which really just sounded like excuses. I had to ASK to have the 2nd mower delivered to my house free of charge! I had to ask for that!! That was 2 weeks ago. They FINALLY called me over the weekend to tell me what I owed - over $200 - and ask if they could deliver it, reiterating the delivery would have no charge. I have since paid for it, but still haven't heard when it will be delivered. I will not be back. Twice is more than enough torture. Plenty of other options. read more

I took a rototiller there to have the choke lever repaired and to get a tune up. The tiller actually ran before I took it in, just not very well. After six weeks they called and said it was ready, when I went to get it, it wouldn't start. So they said they would call me later in the day, but, no call. I have a work schedule that limits my days off, and I have to borrow a truck to haul this thing so waiting for a promised phone call cause me to be late returning the truck and, they didn't bother to call anyway. So I waited two weeks, and called them myself. They said it was going to be another couple of days and they would call, but, no call, again. So, I had to wait another two weeks and called, hoping there would be a resolution, but got another promise to get a call back, and again, nothing. I called again about a week later, explained my situation about work and having to borrow a truck. The woman I talked to said they would repair it and they would work out a way for them to deliver it to me. No call, again, no repairs. Several phone calls, and weeks, later, I decided I had had enough and went to just get the tiller back. Every time I tried to ask for an explanation, the woman would walk away with my paperwork and talk to some guy in the back, turned out, they couldn't find the tiller, and she never gave a decent explanation for why the tiller wasn't repaired. After a several frustrating minutes I told her I wanted an adjustment on the cost and wanted my tiller back as is, which the owner was happy to do, but only because he was trying to sell some guy who was there looking at a generator. I hope he got better service than I did. Any way, I left $100 in the cash register till, and got my tiller that NOW DIDN'T WORK AT ALL !! Poor work, poor service and awful follow up. They seemed more happy that I left than how badly I was treated. Never again. When Cascade was owned by Clem back in the days he was on Van Buren, it was the best repair place in town, not any more. read more
