My stylist was kind, but I could sense she wasn't super experienced with curly hair. My hair is now in a very mix matched shape/length. The place is spacious and well organized. The ambience is very homey and welcoming. I love how much natural light comes in through the windows. My go-to stylist is Ambrocio. He's the best. I pretty much only let Theresa at Casanova cut my hair. She listens to what I want and is patient with me as I scroll through celebrity haircuts that I want to try out. I always leave with my hair feeling light and looking great. The products they use here are also top notch. They make my hair SO soft and smooth, and they usually have those products for sale too. I bought the Aveda Smooth Infusion gel that works as a heat protector, and I use it every day. Side note: there is street parking. I usually pay for 2 hours. read more

I have lived in Ukrainian village for quite a while and l pass through this salon often and finally l decided to make an appointment. The gentleman that help me is sort of a fixture there and l told him what l wanted done with my hair cut, he was friendly and did exactly what l envisioned. I was super super pleased! He was a true master of his craft. He took the time to do it right. I normally can't sit long enough for a blow-dry as l am very impatient but l was calm and relax and he knew how to do it properly (you know those lame blow dry jobs that tell you when they are terrible?) Lol! I will update his name shortly as l can't remember (I am terrible) The salon may be unassuming but it was very clean and In Lieu of COVID-19 they took all the precautions asked by the state. What l like the most about my experience is that he told me to feel free to go back if l notice I needed some retouch or if l was in any way unhappy the day after. Some people are very picky with their hair and l have known many that do go back and get a retouch. He truly wanted to make sure my first time here was satisfactory. That little comment of taking the extra mile determined what a true professional he is. He also offer me a first time client discount which l was not expecting. You would think with all this restrictions they would forget that promo. But no, my only regret is not having been here sooner! I found my forever salon and my forever stylist Maria! This is hands down the best salon ever! Maria did an amazing job! She did what I have wanted done for decades and no one could ever get it right! This is the color I dreamed of having!! Everyone else has always made my hair brassy or orangish. Highly recommend this salon. I read a review on Facebook about how they are taking Covid precautions seriously and decided to give it a try. Regarding Covid precautions, I was greeted at the front door with hand sanitizer and a temp check. Staff wore masks and I saw that pens and such were wiped with disinfectant clothes after use. Upon leaving, hand sanitizer was offered and the door was opened for me. I felt comfortable being there. Regarding my hair experience, I finally feel I found a salon that I like in Chicago. I used to live in Spain and would frequent salons there because they were more affordable, quick, and I would always get the latest hair styles. I stopped going to salons in Chicago because they are so expensive and I never feel my hair looks much different than when I arrived, even though I would be there for like 3 hours a cut. Well Casanova is affordable and gave me a great style and all in under 40 minutes. Ambrocio was my stylist and I will be going back on a frequent basis, because I can afford to! He was very attentive and gave me a great new style based on what I had asked. As an asian, rarely hv others gotten the 'blonde' shade quite right for my skin, it always turned out some kinda orangeish copper color, i was a lil worried for my wedding day at first, but Ambrocio exceeded my expections by a tenfold. I went to a new stylist named Angel at this salon. I am always nervous to try someone new but he came highly recommend. I was not disappointed. It was one of the best cuts I have ever had. The salon is nice and very welcoming. There are only 4 stylist so you get very personalized service, not like some of the lager salons that feel more like a hair factory than a place to treat to yourself. I pleasantly surprised when I went to pay. The price was very reasonable. I have paid much more for worse service and not near as good of a cut. This is definitely my new go to salon. read more

Theresa has been making my hair look amazing for several months now but after today I had to write a review! We've done other colors before and I've gotten compliments from strangers on the train, women running up to me in a store to take a picture of my hair but today we did something that's been turning heads since I left the salon - unicorn roots! UPDATE: I went for the first time to get my hair cut and highlighted with Ambrocio. The BEST. He took his time to ask questions and was super thorough with his work.
