While we were still eating our appetizer the waiter's assistant came over and asked if he could prepare the table for our main course and I said "no we are still eating the appetizer" and then they still came and brought the main course. Then we finished eating and they basically said that if we weren't going to get dessert then they were going to bring the bill but we would have ordered more drinks. On my reservation confirmation it said the reservation was for 1 hour and 45 minutes and they basically kicked us out after 1 hour. Worst service I've seen in Miami after being here for 10 years. Would never go back. There are much better options here in Miami. read more

We came here for a birthday dinner. The place is beautiful and the food was great. We weren't able to be seated with only one person missing in our party which was quite odd. We definitely would have had more drinks and probably spent more. The service took a while once we were sat to order drinks. After that, the service was good. It was very dark at the table we were at which wasn't under the structure in the back, so wish we had more light to see the food and menus. Terrible experience all around. Food and service were awful. The only highlights were the beautiful design of the restaurant and our drinks. We arrived about 15 minutes for our reservation (10 PM on a Tuesday). Wasn't expecting it to be busy but to my surprise the bar area/entrance was pretty packed. We checked in and they asked us to wait in the bar area and they would grab us. We just dined at swan the night before and it was a similar procedure so we were okay with this. We went to the bar to order drinks in the meantime. This place hasn't been open for long so it was surprising to hear they already revamped their menus. We ordered two signature drinks from the cocktail menu and the bartender started to make them, but then had to pause and ask the other bartender to how to finish them. He seemed unsure as well so they asked the mixologist? who seemed to oversee the bar. This was the first sign that things were off. We proceeded to grab a seat in this bar/waiting area as we waited to be called. It seemed like everyone kind of had an exasperated look at they waited. I took note of who was there before us as I was expecting them to be called before us. More and more time pass and we finally decide to go up to check our reservation. This was about an hour after our original check in time and 45 minutes after our scheduled reservation time. The hostesses looked at each other and were surprised so I could tell someone fumbled the ball here. Later after checking my email I received an email stating that my reservation was canceled so I'm assuming they thought we left and just marked us as canceled. Considering there's a cancellation fee per person this needs to be reviewed. We finally get seated and we're greeted by our waiter. He was actually super friendly. We went off his recommendations and like I said in the initial part of the review they were all terrible, but we don't blame him as our neighbors food also looked bad. (The focaccia which I considered ordering looked like a pound cake). We got the tuna tartare and octopus to start. The tartare was played beautifully, but the taste was terrible. They had tuna on top of what tasted like a cold marina sauce, then topped the tuna with cream cheese? Not crème fraîche. Then topped with more flavorless caviar? It was a terrible combination. The octopus was also over a spread of marina sauce which again just didn't compliment it and the sauce did not taste good. For our entree we had the walnut ravioli. Personally I thought it was okay, but my friend who I went with thought it tasted too much of artificial walnut flavoring. After an expensive disappointing meal we left quickly skipping out on dessert. Please save your time and money and go somewhere else. read more

What do you get from a review? We each write about our experiences. I was leary about Casadonna. Yes, it is pricey. Just start with that. However, my own experience was superlative all around. When we came in, all the people working greeted and welcomed us. The service that our group received was over the top, starting with turning down the loud music! Thais made recommendations, that's her job, and all was pretty good. She was attentive and fun. Our water and wine were regularly refilled, a sure sign of good service. The food was pretty good. The focaccia unlike any other I've eaten, very tasty. The wagu carpaccio with truffles was good. I found the tuna tartare too processed and mushy, My favorite was the amberjack crudo, sweet and delicious. The pasta campanelle or bolognese in other words was good. I did not taste the caesar salad, the organic greens were not only beautiful, but delicious. We shared the lamb chops and several other entrees. Very good. The potatos nice; I think the delicata squash was overcooked and its natural yummy flavor hidden. Dessert - first, they were gorgeous to look at, but we ate them. The first bite of the chocolate torte was so good, but then it got too sweet. The lemon desert should win a prize. I am glad to have had the opportunity to try Casadonna. Never. Coming. Back. You can see on my other reviews that I rarely give less than four stars. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst experiences that we have had at a restaurant. We're going to start off by sharing that we had reservations for 9 PM. We were all there by 9 PM. However, we didn't get seated until almost 2 hours later. 1 hr and 47 min later to be exact. The only reason we didn't leave was because we were there for a friends party and he really wanted to try this horrible restaurant out. And yes, we asked the hostess multiple times if the table was ready and for an hour and 47 minutes, I guess they were wiping down the table. I was expecting the cleanest table I've ever seen. The lobby bar area at the front of the restaurant where the hostess is was swamped. They had one bartender working their massive bar, which took over 30 minutes to get a drink. this area was also overfilled with people waiting and hanging out. One would think that they would have more than one bartender in this area. The lady bartender (tattoo on her arm) was I think the only helpful and nice person working in this place. Once we were finally seated, we had one of the worst servers I think I've ever had. He was super unhelpful, he seemed overworked and had a little bit of an attitude. Drinks took forever to arrive. Santiago seemed irritated by simple questions such as " do any of the pastas come without red sauce". Food: the only thing really good about this place was the food. Luckily you live in Miami and there's other places with food just as good. My favorite part was eating less than half of my pasta and having my waiter pick up my plate and throw my food out without asking me if I wanted to take more than half of my pasta back home. Oh, and HALF OUR FOOD WAS COLD!!!!! What a shame that a place that so much potential is such a disastrous place. They make you wait over an hour for reservations, the service is horrendous, and then they charge you an eye off your face. You would think that for these prices you would be getting good service at least. At the end, someone from our party filed complaint with a manager who could have cared less about all the valid concerns we had. Save your money. no one deserves to pay over $600 to be treated like shit. read more

So this place is absolutely lovely. The decor and the chill romantic vibe made it a wonderful date night. But you can also hang with a group of friends and enjoy the ambience. The staff were great. Super attentive from the moment you walk in. I was not impressed with the food, mediocre at best for what they charge. We did enjoy the Surf and turf Carpaccio, and they did recommend a great bottle of red wine that paired wonderfully with our dinner. I would recommend just for the vibe and views. For entrees we had NY strip and branzino. The steak was overcooked but the branzino was pretty good. The aesthetics here are 10/10. The interior design and music is such a vibe. The service was great and our server did a great job going over the menu with us and making recommendations from each section. We loved our drinks and food and have no complaints. Everything came out quick and tasteful. The chicken was juicy and flavorful. The lumache was a pretty basic dish but had great flavor and even a little spice. Also all the staff were rude and unprofessional. When we finally sat down at a table, three different wait staff asked us to move a different table because they had internal miscommunication. Casadonna is the newest concept from Dave Grutman and Tao Hospitality so I was eager to try it out! Overall, the service and vibes were great. It's definitely a great spot to people watch while you enjoy dinner and drinks. It reminded me of Swan, Groot Hospitality's other restaurant in terms of the atmosphere. We sat indoors, but definitely think outdoor seating would be the move here. It's right on Biscayne Bay and the outside bar and lounge area looked so nice (we went out after dinner). I went to the grand opening and it was epic. The space is so beautifully curated. The fact that they kept the integrity of the 97 year old building is respectful to the history of Miami. As soon as you enter -- the atrio entry way is stunning. All the details and multiple rooms are so eye catching. I personally loved the outdoor lush patio. It give you the secret garden feel while still lavishing in the Miami lifestyle. They'll have live Dj's playing while you dine. The outdoor bar is also breathtaking. And the bay view is unbeatable. My wife and I got reservations for the Sunday night after the opening, and I always expect the service to have a few hiccups that soon after opening, but this was flawless. We started with drinks; my wife got an orange spritzer that was very refreshing, and I got the rosemary negroni. Despite not being a big rosemary fan, I really liked it, and would get it again. Everything on the menu sounded great, and we weren't sure how much to order, but the waiter was extremely helpful and guided us based on what we like. Unfortunately, I don't remember the actual names of each dish, but we started with the focaccia, wagyu carpaccio, and burrata. Then did the walnut cream pasta, and sea bass, with a side of potatoes. Dessert we had the lemon. I would recommend all of that, but I highly highly recommend the Sea Bass. It was cooked perfectly, with a crisp skin, and they pour a seafood sauce over it that was so damn good. The restaurant itself was absolutely amazing. Dave Grutman did an great job of keeping the historic feel of the building, but updating the necessities, like AC. The price was definitely reasonable, the total bill was about $350 with 2 drinks including tax and tip, and we left very full. read more

The wine wasn't chilled, we didn't receive or meals at the same time, they weren't knowledgeable about the menu, etc. It's very $$$$, so I expect much better service. This was my first time and I came for a brunch reservation. I was pretty disappointed with the quality of the service and the lackluster menu. The venue itself is stunning. The decor is lovely and the back patio is beautiful. Thank the lord that there are fans every where because it certainly allows for added comfort in the florida heat. Service was subpar. They forgot our caviar order and i felt i was always asking who ever i could find for a refill of my water. Drinks took forever and we could never really find our server. Brunch is a pre fixe menu which provides the guest with 1 of each appetizer and the choice of one entree as well as 1 of each dessert. I found the appetizers lacked creativity and were incredibly bland. Beet appetizer was just beets nothing more. The crudo was a standard crudo which was tasty but boring, it's like every other crudo in the city. Ricotta with figs was also bland. My entree, the steak & eggs, was soooo salty, it was a pillar of salt, yuck. my husband got the chicken, it was delicious, great jus. Other entree at the table was the Benedict and the person said they wouldn't order it again. Dessert also was boring and didn't really wow. 3.5 stars. The food was excellent but the service was inconsistent. To start off, the front host staff was excellent. On the drive there, we caught a train that ended up delaying us 20 minutes. We called to notify the hosts that we would be arriving a few minutes late to our reservation. When we arrived we had trouble finding the location. There are no signs or advertisements, just signs that say "do not enter valet" when entering into the parking lot. It was so confusing. After finally finding the location we valeted the car, ordered a drink at the bar and were seated after a few minutes. There are no specials. The server had us order our entire meal right after we had sat down but then was nonexistent for the rest of the night. Thankfully, there was another server who I think was training who was pretty attentive... but basically the entire meal we were flagging down the servers to receive menus, drinks, Togo boxes, and the check. Tip is also included in the bill. After paying the check, I paid for valet parking ($17 + tip) and requested my car, It took over 20 minutes to receive my car. Overall, the food was delicious. The burrata and bolognese were the favorites. I loved the vibe and the ambiance. From the bar/lounge to the main dinning area. Definitely a great vibe in there. Service was also great. Can't complain. Didn't feel like they were rushing us through our meal like other reviews mentioned. If anything, I felt like we took too long and never felt rushed. Food was 4 stars given the price tag. How can people without hesitation leave a review on this place saying things like "best brunch ever" "food is delicious" "service is great"? This place was a nightmare on Mother's Day 2025. First big mistake on my part was walking into this location when it already had about a 3.5 star rating on Google Reviews. You wouldn't catch me walking into a place with ratings like that if it were my choice, but I showed up here because others made the reservation. Service is bad, atmosphere is very loud, all the teenage-looking hostesses at the front need some classes in hospitality and manners. I walked in right after other folks in my party to wait at the bar for our reservation to be respected, and one of them still walked up to me and insisted that she needed my name to add it to the reservation even though I said "I'm with them." She just wanted to be a bother, don't harass people that you know are all in the same reservation/party. Service when seated was the typical flag-anyone-down to get their attention and ask them for even the basic things like utensils and water refills, things a properly trained staff would know to do and EARN their wage and especially customer tips in. The brunch experience was forced, and nothing was offered a la carte, first huge red flag for me. The brunch was NOT interesting at all and a lot of food quality things I witnessed were big yikes, how anyone could say this is the best brunch ever...they need to get out more, especially out of Miami more for starters. In the end, for a party of six adults by the way the bill was close to $1000...what a joke and absolutely not worth that. People say the view at the rear of the restaurant makes it worth it, and that's it's "oh so beautiful." I disagree, you can take a stroll along the shore in the park next door and have better sights and a much more relaxing atmosphere than walking into this place, and guess what, it won't cost you anything. The best part I would say was the Dominican bartender that served us while waiting at the lobby of the location, he was a spectacular person and I hope he's being paid well or should probably find a much better job if not, because he deserves it. The seasonal pumpkin fiocchi was to die for, it my favorite is the tuna tartar with a healthy serving of caviar on top. This dish is enough for one persons meal, or good to share, and it costs $45. This is a great price for the amount of caviar given, and so so delicious! Service is great and the ambiance and restaurant is absolutely stunning!
