Horrible....and I mean horrible. Fajitas on my nachos were very over cooked ( some was even black). My sweet tea was good but our waitress never came back to refill my glass ( the bus boy had to do it). Too bad there isn't a minus five star because that is what I think they deserve. On a bright note..I did enjoy the salsa. Bottom line..food was gross and service was just as bad. My first and last time to go there. Beware of the beef fajitas folks. Ok, life is too short to do a bunch of whining & complaining but I love the folks at Casa Rod and thought some valid, helpful feedback might be welcome. We have noticed for MANY MONTHS the service & overall organization falling down. I figured the main crew were working in the 2nd location?? and was trying to give them a break & be patient because I like the food & the GREEN SAUCE (don't even get me started - hurt myself every time!) but today's experience & Wednesdays of this same week (yes, I ate there twice, don't judge) were ridiculous! For the love of God, when you bus a table, bring a bus tub or a tray. We witnessed so many people waiting on tables & so many tables not bused or being bused 2 glasses at a time. #hardtowatch!!!! So inefficient I wanted to get up and help. But, that brings me to my next piece of "advice".... Don't dare walk more than you have to right now (& the entire last year; sometimes worse than others). Clean that greasy greasy greasy floor with extremely HOT water. Do not use kitchen mop & dining mop as one- separate mops for each area. This greasy, slippery, seriously, bust your ass slippery floor is so dangerous. USE SCALDING HOT WATER & get rid of all those nasty rugs!!! Continue to work on very slow service because I love everyone there & want to come back but cannot continue to pay & be frustrated at each and every trip. read more

It pains me to write this review as we have been Casa Rod patrons for many years. It appears that the Bryan location has started to decline. We arrived at 11:30 on Sunday morning to find the restaurant busy which is not unusual. However, the entire staff seamed frantic and the restaurant was not as clean as usual. We waited for several minutes after being seated to receive a basket of less than bite size greasy chips with a foreign object in them. It almost seems that we were given the discard basket. Service was painfully slow. We never received our guacamole and had to ask three times for lemons for our tea. It took forty minutes for our entrée to arrive. The meal was as good as always, however the dining experience was sub par. The staff was hard to flag down and pretty unresponsive. Sadly we won't be back for quite some time. I visit this restaurant occasionally - 5-6 times a year. Last night's visit will be my last. I ordered the Mexican Shrimp Cocktail, as did my daughter. They arrived in a schooner, appearing larger than what was served previously, But the food itself was no more than watered down tomato soup with a spoon flu of salsa tossed in, along with two small slices of avocado. The shrimp? Chunks - if I had assembled them on a plate I might have two shrimp. The waitress disappeared. This visit was no stars on the food and no stars on the service. Our party of 6 went on Friday, Sept. 8, 2017. After we were seated at 8:30 pm and ordered it took 1-1/2 hours to get our food and when we did it was cold. Even had the food not been cold it was mediocre at best. The restaurant was 1/2 empty. Had to repeatedly ask for chips, salsa, and queso we had ordered and 3 different times had to tell the waiter those were our drinks sitting at the bar (after seeing them sitting on the bar for a while). It was evident the waiter and the other staff did not want to be there and tried to avoid eye contact lest they be asked for something. The management is terrible at Casa Rodriguez. I've never been extremely impressed with this establishment but options and competition are limited. Last night, a Saturday night, 2/18/17 we decided to take the risk and go to casa rod, we check the closing time online which was 9:30 pm, arrive at 8:15 pm and the hostess looked around and said that they weren't taking any more guest because they were too busy. No apologies for inconvenience were expressed, just rude bluntness. Empty dirty tables everywhere and only a party of 2 and 3 waiting. We immediately left disappointed but not surprised we were refused service because it's that type of place and we've had issues before. Acceptable only in Bryan Texas. Step it up Casa Rod. Food and service need improvement. The lunch specials are probably the only thing priced correctly to quality and taste of food and service. read more

ABSOLUTELY the worst restaurant I've EVER been to. After waiting 30 minutes for a party of seven we were told they already seated our party. After another 15 minutes we were told our table was being cleaned but watched a group of six sit down before us. We were told the manager instructed them to seat the party of six first, however, there was no manager on duty when we asked to speak to her. The two hostesses made ABSOLUTELY NO EFFORT to make the situation right. Still in disbelief over what happened!!! read more

The fare is standard Tex-mex, and the service was similar to that of chain restaurants, friendly but kind of just there to work. The food was good and if I were hungry for Tex-mex in that area I would probably stop by, but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there. I honestly would not vote this the best in the Brazos as it has been, perhaps the most advertised in the Brazos? I ordered a frozen margarita once which seemed void of tequila and lime, so that doesn't help my rating, but as I said before, it's good for what it is. read more

Terrible service. The bartender got an attitude with us and rolled his eyes when we reminded him for the third time that we ordered a pitcher half an hour ago! If our friends hadn't already gotten their drinks we would have most certainly left. Not coming back here any time soon. read more

I like the El Mobley and the Taquitos. The Taquitos are like a huge fried burrito and is very filling! Always good service and good food!

Let me start off by saying how excited we were to eat here today after church. Well, that excitement was short lived. When we walked in the hostess couldn't tell us an estimate on how long the wait would be. But that didn't really bother us, we waited patiently. Once we were seated, I asked if they could only use egg whites since I'm allergic to the yolk, the waiter said he didn't think so since the eggs already came in a bag. He didn't bother asking, or double checking. He just said it wasn't the place to be if you have an egg allergy. I ordered the barbacoa plate instead and a michelada. The waiter said there wasn't a bartender at the time, he couldn't make me one, and the other servers didn't have time to make one either. Okay, moving on. We get our food, the coffee mug was dirty, the barbacoa was not very good, didn't seem fresh or authentic. My boyfriend ordered a potato and egg taco, the potato and egg wasn't mixed in. Great salsa, good chips, large flour tacos, good cheese, but beans & rice were a little generic. Prices were just about $1.00 too high. The restaurant is clean, very clean. Service was okay, but they are all college students, so you gotta give a little slack. All in all, pretty neat place. read more

Went last night for the first time. I will definitely be going back. Had cheese enchiladas with onions, beans, rice, and 2 margaritas on the rocks. The food, hot sauce, service, and margaritas were all excellent. I will be going back soon. read more

So upon coming into the restaurant wasn't bad but after standing in wait for a table I hear a man that came in 10 minutes after me asking how much longer and he was told that there were 3 couples ahead of him and his wife, one of those parties ahead of him was me my wife and daughter and my in laws so needless to say 5 people. But because he continued to ask how much longer they sat him at a table that could of been used for my party rather than moving him to the front of the line. And if that wasn't bad enough they then called the 5 top after us and sat them before use and once I asked for the second time why a second party was sat before us and all they said was they were trying to get us a table. But none the less all I got from my first experience here is that I won't be coming back. Even though that may not mean much to big company like this I hope a few people get some good info here. read more

My wife and I went in with high hopes. Went on Sunday about 3PM. Wait staff was friendly. However, service was really slow. Food delivery took forever. Restaurant looked really dirty. Floors and chips on the floors under tables. Rugs were dirty and not vacuumed. Many tables had left over food and plates from recent customers just sitting on tables. There were many young people working so from what I can tell this restaurant is just poorly managed. I lost my appetite before I got my food. Finally, the restrooms were filthy with urine on the floors and they were not kept. I put this out here on Yelp because their website had not Customer Service Feedback section. I hope they read this and make some adjustments. For me I cant go back. read more

We have not been to Casa Rod in awhile. I'm not sure we will go back. Is the place under new management or something? We were seated and sat there for half an hour before we flagged down the hostess to tell her we had not been served. A non waiter came and got our drink order (without apologizing for the wait) and then the waitress came and got our drink order. Um, ok. I ordered fish tacos. They were literally fish in a taco shell. Nothing else. No sauce, nothing. My husband asked for an extra plate because he was sharing $18 shrimp fajitas with our son (not very many shrimp for $18). The waiter brought back a tiny plate that was wet. Nasty. Ten minutes after we got our food, the waitress gave us our check. Everyone who worked there seemed lost. It was a much tighter-run ship when we've been there in the past. read more
