No outdoor dining option available but the booths are spaced out far enough that social distancing is not a problem. The salsa they offer with pre-meal chips is nicely flavored but the spicier green salsa is even better and offers a bit of heat. While the rice and beans are pretty standard fare found at any Mexican restaurant, they excel at their pork verde and with their tender sopes . The sopapillas were also very good; nice and fluffy as they should be. The margaritas are pricey and difficult to drink if ordered blended as they are so icy/thick they don't go through the straw easily. Good bottled Mexican beer selection, unfortunately no draft beer available (Mexican or domestic). Good service with friendly personnel. read more

We ate here twice during our vacation. They're one of the few places open late. They have comfy booths or big long wooden table for groups. Their soda is delicious like it should taste you can tell they don't skimp. The carne asada queso was amazing. The 5 of us ordered different things and loved all of it. 3 picky eating kids were all happy. Chips and salsa so good if we lived here we would make sure to come all the time. My favorite is their enchiladas. Food comes out quick. Hot plates, hot food, fresh yummy. No sore tummy afterwards which tells me they make mostly everything themselves instead of using ready made preservative filled ingredients. The staff all seemed really nice, you can tell they live here in town maybe? Treat you like they'll see you again and be happy about it instead of a quick buck to make. We were recognized and greated our 2nd time in. We live by arrowhead area so it was refreshing to slow down and have the small town feeling again thanks for 2 amazing meals! Have not been since the new owners but these are the BEST chicken fajitas in all of ARIZONA! I will drive 2 hours to eat here. Soooooo yummy! Also love the La Pinta margarita, cheese crisp and chips and salsa are delic too. Service can be a little slow (small town) but worth the wait! read more

Dined at Casa Ramos last night while in Overgaard. Place was packed. We ordered an appetizer of queso that took forever and came out moments before our entrees. Other than that food and service was good. I ordered the carne asada burrito which came with rice and beans. It was really good. My wife ordered a combo burrito and chimichanga which she said was also good. My mother ordered the carnitas which she said was a little bland on its own but when paired with the jalapeños made it better. Prices were reasonable and as mentioned service was good. Docked 1 star for the appetizer coming out late and the restaurant being a little dirty. Not gross just could use some cleaning. read more

Great Tex-Mex food in Overgaard is its plenty of parking and the restaurant is next to the telephone booths from the movie Fire in the Sky, that's kewl. We were promptly seated and our waiter took our drink orders. Chips were crisp and that salsa was on point, we had 4 bowls lol. My friend and the wife shared some type of queso; beef, beans cheese garnish with shredded melted cheese, sliced tomatoes and avocado slices. It was really good. My friend had the Carna Asada rice beans, the steak could've been more flavorful and tender. I had the pick 3 combo; 2 crispy tacos in a homemade shell, cheese enchilada with a tasteful red sauce, rice and charro beans. Great choice. Wife had carnitas; tender and juicy pulled porked, outstanding. We would recommend this place. read more

I'm surprised at the reviews. I found it to be pretty flavorless and my veggie fajitas came out drenched in a soupy mess that tasted like can't believe it's not butter. The chips tasted old though the salsa was great. Nearly $5 for a modelo this close to the border seems like a crime. Also the hand soap in the bathroom was so watered down that 6 pumps still did not create any lather at all. Gross. On a positive note, my food came out quickly and the waitstaff was very attentive and nice. The restaurant was pretty packed on a Saturday so it must be a local favorite. read more

Excellent carne asada! We've come to Casa Ramos for the past few years and it's always been good. When they sold last year, there was some skepticism around the transition and menu changes. This time I tried the charcoal grilled carne asada, wow! It was excellent and tastes like it came from a backyard cookout. I was excited to come here with my parents and husband. Until we got there... I think the reviews must be old or it's family/friends. Ambiance: it was nice Service: the hostess was very friendly and kind and you could tell she cares about her job or maybe she loves people or both. The busboy was excellent. Very nice and friendly. I feel bad for him because my mom ordered coffee as it was very cold outside but they didn't have any. Then she ordered some hot tea to warm up but they had no mugs which is weird. So he brought my mom her hot tea in a soda cup and the water was barely warm. Later the waitress heard us talking about how they didn't have coffee or mugs and the waitress told us they must have taken all the mugs to the other restaurant. That's just very odd to me. But ok. Speaking of the waitress... she was one of the worst servers. First she introduced herself by asking "do you know what you want?" Which we didn't so she said she'd be back. Then she came back, took our order and we never saw her again. At our table but she did go attend other customers. I guess she didn't like us. That's ok I didn't go there to make friends. Food: the worst I've ever had. The only thing we liked were the flour chips. They were fresh, warm and crispy. My husbands Colorado burrito was really bad. I mean the meat tasted like it had gone bad. My mom and I ordered enchiladas and both plates the tortillas were so hard that when we tried cutting a piece to eat the tortilla broke. The food wasn't warm much less hot. Needless to say we will not be back. read more

I live nearby and quit getting my routine takeaway meal here about a year ago when the manager (let's call him "Mr. Personality) shared with me that he was burned out (he's why the sign on the door says "Welcome-ish"). Anyway, they're under new management now, and I've started going back for my weekly fix. The food's always been good, but now the attitude there has improved, in a big way. They're only open from 2 pm now, still closed on Tuesday. If you've been disappointed in the last year or so, give them another try. read more

It's just sad that my favorite place to eat has gone downhill. The waitstaff was rude and when I complained to the manager/owner, instead of apologizing, he went on a rant of how difficult his business has been, how he has an 18 year old and other 'kids' working for him, and how her gets upset customers all of the time! Wow! I guess I'm not the only person- go figure! I finally ask him if he would like to sit down! I figured he needed a margarita. I don't think I have ever had a manager/owner complain so much about his business. Anyway... the food was just so/so. It used to be great! Best food around. I had a quesadilla w ground beef. Which was a bit greasy (orange grease dripping from it) and the chips were kind of stale. So sad about this place. I sure hope they can improve upon it! Tried Casa Ramos for the first time the other day and was not disappointed. I had the two combo plate with a shredded beef chimi and green chili pork taco, both tasted amazing!!! My husband had the carne asada burrito and really enjoyed it. There is a sign posted letting you know that they are short staffed and wait time is longer than usual but it is definitely worth the wait. Have yourself a delicious margarita or two while you wait for your food to arrive. Casa Ramos!!! I will definitely be eating here often read more

As I'd hoped, the veggie fajitas were fabulous and Yelp is to thank for that recommendation. A little greasy, but SUPER flavorful and more than what I could eat. My only critique is that they had no true vegetarian side option, as the beans and rice are made with animal products. I didn't ask about the fajitas, lest I get back in the car and head to Subway. DO NOT WASTE ANY TIME: pack up the WAGON, toss in the tire chains (just in case), and get to Casa Ramos in Heber, Arizona!! Record snow on the ground, super-record snow a bit south of here. But wait: I had one of a very few wonderful Mexican dinners of my life. The Fajita Mixta is a very generous portion. I had to delete the rice ( my doctors' orders) so no taste comment, but it looks great. The seafood was flavorful, perfectly cooked, great texture, attractive presentation. The grill plate was still so hot it sizzles for several minutes [BE CAREFUL WITH THOSE WHO ACT AS CHILDREN]. I opted for the whole beans, which come in a dish with seasonings. The guacamole looked and tasted great (my guess is made right here). Chips and salsa good. Surprisingly wide hot tea selection, too. Who would have guessed "way out here?" Lots of kids, families and places for groups. Men's room seems accessible and was clean. (Sorry, women, did not check yours out.) Last thought: real Mexican music, not too loud but adds to the cantinas atmosphere. Definitely on my "repeat destinations" list! Be blessed. read more

We have a vacation cabin in Heber, every time we are here we eat at casa Ramos, this weekend due to covid -19 we were not able to dine in. In saying that we got it to go. WOW what a FANTASTIC job they are doing phone in order was easy payment over the phone and they brought it right out to the car. The meal (s) were prepared perfectly. Very few people in restaurant. Had to get someone's attention to take our order. Woman not very friendly. Not rude, just not friendly. Male staff much warmer and friendly. Absolutely freezing to death in restaurant with air blowing down on our table getting food cold. Lots of fans going. Did not offer to refill our chips. Food was good. This place was getting really weird with a very unfriendly guy that turns out to be involved as an owner. After stopping by a few weeks ago on our way up from the valley we were very pleased with our service and food. After talking to our sever turns out he was involved with ownership.
