Wow, what an unassuming place, the food here was amazing! We were visiting from out of state and decided to stop here driving down the mountain. This place rivals any great Thai place I've eaten at in southern California. The chicken satay was tender and flavorful, the green curry was spicy and tasty and the pad Thai was excellent (per my wife, it's her favorite). We chose this place for dinner for our first overnight stay in Heber. Frankly, since we moved to south phoenix from California, we've struggled to find really good Asian food. Dial ordered the Thai fried rice with shrimp and very much enjoyed it. He would order it again, but add a little more spice to it. I ordered the cashew nut with shrimp and it was the best cashew nut dish I've ever had. The flavor was very delicious and they add pineapple to the dish, which I love! In both dishes, the shrimps were cooked perfectly and very tasty This place is on the small side and very busy. It was primarily taken care of by one server. So you need to be prepared to possibly wait for a table and wait a bit for your food. We felt it was worth the wait. read more

This restaurant was a really good place. This place had amazing food and service, but was slightly less in ambiance and cleanliness. I had the Orange Chicken, the Chow Mein, the Heber-Overgaard Chicken and the Sticky Rice, and all were incredible in taste and flavor except for the Heber-Overgaard chicken, which was a shame since it's dedicated to this town. Otherwise, the orange chicken was the best I've ever had, the chow mein was excellent and the sticky rice was a nice touch. The service was just as amazing as the food. Immediately when I came in, I was offered a table and within a few minutes came the waitress asking for orders. Soda refills came fast and I was never thirsty. They had one of those candy bowls up at the front counter, too! The atmosphere was kind of questionable. There were a handful of moths flying around, but they didn't pose much a threat to the cleanliness much. The restaurant itself was quite small in size, but it was overall convenient and enjoyable. Another off-topic thing is that it's a ten minute walk away from my cabin, further increasing my satisfaction with this place. I really do hope that whenever I get a chance, I can come here to this place for amazing food. I recommend this for anyone looking for a nice sit-down Asian restaurant. Thank you! read more

Walked in and ordered for takeout. Seemed pretty clean. Food was good. Have had a lot of Thai over several states and this did not disappoint. Had the Orange Chicken and potstickers. Chicken could have had a little more spice but still great flavor. Asked for hot mustard, was hopping for fresh but it came in packets (not my favorite). Asked around about this place since it is a small town and found out the owner/cook is from Thailand which is the reason the food is so good. read more

Mom and I went today for lunch. I love the food here. Very fresh. Very delicious. Today I had the panang curry...I said in my last review it was massaman, but it was actually panang. It's a nice clean and comfortable small place. They have a great lunch special menu deal. I had the panang curry with chicken, my wife enjoyed the vegetable chicken stir-fry. The lunch special includes fried potstickers, cabbage soup and small salad. This is great way to get a taste of the restaurant. Everything we had was delicious. The service was great and the server/cashier/takeout order taker was pleasant and very busy. Though the place was not full, I noticed the line of takeout order tickets was a lot. Thai food is not first thing you think of in a smaller town like Heber so my expectations were not very high for this new place but oh my goodness I was wrong! Please oh please let this place stay! The food was delicious and the portions were huge! My son got the chicken lo mein and loved it. I got the chicken green curry with medium spice. I just realized we have a Thai place in Heber now, only 3 miles from my cabin. Since Thai food is my favorite cuisine, I had to try it. As a part time H/O resident, we were excited to visit KL's for dinner, and it was amazing. I had the chicken Pad Thai - very mild (as I prefer) and incredible flavor. My wife had the Orange Chicken - saucy and delicious. In-Laws had Chicken Soup and Yellow Curry. Again delicious flavor! What a wonderful addition to the Heber Overgaard food scene. The restaurant is small - about 10 tables, so service is prompt, cheerful and engaged. One interesting tidbit, the orange chicken and pad thai came in "go containers" and we dished out onto our plates - but no need to box up the leftovers! read more

I will say that this has been one of the best Thai food restaurants I've been to in a long time. We tried the green curry and it was delicious. If you can't handle spice, you may want to order the Massaman or yellow curry chicken. It was almost too much spice for my husband however, it was the perfect amount for me. My husband and I visited heber this past weekend for a little getaway and have been a handful of times prior. We got really excited when we saw this new Thai place in town! We decided to try the orange chicken., as well as potstickers for an appetizer. It did not disappoint! My favorite part about it was that you can taste the citrus unlike a lot of other places where it is just spice. Although the chicane was a little dry I would still recommend. The rice with the meal was good as well, but just like all rice haha. The decor was cute inside and gave a small town vibe which we both really enjoyed. Since this was our first visit to KL's, even though we were going to order take-out we decided to go to the restaurant, order, and then wait for it, instead of ordering by phone. For the 2 of us we ordered the rangoons and the combination fried rice. It would seem that the restaurant is a bit small considering the business they are going to have. We sat and watched everyone thoroughly enjoying their dinners. There is a full menu to choose from. When we left with our food there were people standing and waiting for a table. When we got home and opened our food boxes we were blown away by the aroma and the portion sizes. We wasted no time in eagerly digging in and enjoying some of the best Asian food we have ever had! The young lady stayed busy seating guests, taking (at tables and call in) orders, checking in with diners, and handling payment. She efficiently managed her guests and their needs. The food was quite good. The Chicken Pad Thai and Teriyaki Chicken were delicious. Portions were sufficient that I'm still not hungry 2-hours later. This Jade Gem hits all the necessary points to achieve a great opening. Even though their dining room is small it's extremely clean and ample for community and business needs. First thing you notice is an extremely large menu that includes many choices in each category from Appetizers, Noodle dishes, five different kinds of Fried Rice Entrees, 16 different Specialty Entrees, 8 different Thai Curry Entrees, 6 Specialty Soups, 8 different Salads, and a host of Side, Desserts, Drinks, and even a Kids menu. When you see the portion sizes you're know why a Kids menu is important. Speaking of portions, I defy anybody to consume one of their entrees at one sitting, they're enormous for the price.
