    Carne asada chimichanga
    Carissa B.

Stopped in to grab take out for dinner when we were staying at a friend's cabin. Restaurant was super clean inside and staff were very welcoming. I tried the carne asada chimichanga, it came with rice and beans on the side. I also got a side of sour cream and guacamole and a large aqua fresca. The chimichanga was nice and crispy. The carne asada needed more seasoning but overall was tender. The rice was light and fluffy, but the beans lacked any flavor. I don't understand why restaurants struggle to flavor their refried beans. Their guacamole was fresh and had good flavor and the sour cream was nice and creamy. The agua fresca was decent but didn't taste homemade, so not sure what the deal was with that. Overall it wasn't bad, maybe next time I would try other options if we are in the area.

    Shrimp tacos. Fresh and flavorful.

Great place. Clean, friendly service and fresh and flavorful food. Had the carne as a da tacos, Shrimp tacos and beef tacos.

Their tables have this beautiful imprint.

WOW! So much to say! The ordering was quick and easy at the counter, the restaurant is clean, open, and lots of places to sit! Their condiments area is clean and has everything you need from red and green salsa to hot carrots to lime wedges. The food was served within 10 minutes and was absolutely delicious. The rice, the beans and the tacos. Do not miss this gem in Heber/Overgaard!

New place, spotless clean, very amenable and friendly staff, GIANT portion burrito, and quite delicious! Two green salsa and one red sauce at the salsa bar. Roasted green very good. My opinion, and why only four stars, is that the red sauce was a little weak. Prefer a tasty-HOT red hot-sauce. So I am definitely coming to this place again, will do take out and bring my own Mex hot-sauce.

    My carne asada chimichanga.

My husband and had dinner here. The food was excellent!! The only problem was deciding what to get. We ended up ordering a carne asada chimichanga and shrimp tacos. Everything was fresh, hot and delicious! Next time I'm going to try the Overgaard burrito.

Carne asada chimichanga was delicious and filling 7 out of 10!

Place is nice and beautiful and cozy with big screen TVs and comfortable boosts friendly customer service and a salsa bar!

Becky's Trio of Tacos. Carne Asada, Pollo, and Al Pastor!

Wednesday's edition of Alli's Culinary Adventures and Tales So, being at home, my hunger vibes must have gone out into the culinary world because I get an invite to go to Taqueria Suarez in Heber/Overgaard. Now, I just won't turn down an opportunity to fill my tummy with good food so, heck yeah I went, even though I was there just yesterday!! Thank you, Hannah and Becky, for the great company. Anastasia and Khaila, y'all should have waited! It was only a few minutes before we got to the counter to order. Becky ordered the Trio Tacos, one each of al pastor (oh that red coloring looked so gooood!), chicken, and carne asada (I think that was the third one), and the dish, of course, comes with beans & rice. Ohhh, they looked very good!!! Yes, ya do have to use napkins, or use your sleeve, while eating these tacos, but, hey, that's just fine with me. Hannah and I ordered the shrimp tacos and let me tell'ya, these tacos are STUFFED with shrimp, chopped onions, loads of crema, diced tomatoes, and lettuce. The shrimp were juicy (oh she said juicy again!), tender, and wonderfully tasty! You won't be disappointed if you order these. The corn tortillas were warm, tender, tasted like corn!, and held up just fine with the FILLING heaped on top. I should have used the trick of picking it up with the one tortilla so that the droppings would land on the second one but hey, that's what fingers are for, right? Talk about "finger lickin'" good? Yeah, hey, it's right here!!! A little tub filled to the brim with spicy red salsa, poured over the rice, beans, AND in the shrimp tacos...yeah that Orange Fanta came in handy!!! I don't know where Monica was today, but the server (the owner? Should have asked his name) did come over and ask how our food was. No doubt, we told him it was great!!! A todos los que trabajan en Taqueria Suarez, les digo...."Gracias"! Becky and Hannah, feel free to chime in here with your thoughts, ok? Damn, I need to remember to take pics of my dining companions! Sometimes it sounds like I'm making up stories of people at my table.

    Excellent burritos!!

Clean and fast but when you order a carne asada burro and have to unwrap it to look for the meat that's no bueno.

Friendly service. Located in the parking lot of an antiques store with bathrooms inside, "Western Village Antiques" to be precise. One picnic table available, but we ate off the tailgate of the truck (which I noticed others were doing too). Tacos were great! Fresh ingredients. "Street tacos" sized. Should have ordered six for two people. My only recommendation: use double tortillas for each taco to reduce spillage and messiness. Otherwise, one can ask for a fork. Wife liked pork. I liked beef. Both were great. They were out of chocolate chip cookies. Darn. Strong Recommend.

We came by on a Monday -- their special chicken dinner day -- and ordered the chicken plate (fresh breast + thigh), with rice, beans, fresh corn tortillas, and both red and green salsas. We also grabbed two carnitas street tacos. The second I took a bite, I knew I was in trouble (the good kind). The chicken was perfectly seasoned, with a golden crust that had flavor in every crispy edge. And the carnitas tacos? Authentic, juicy, rich -- exactly what you want in a taco. We literally turned around right after finishing and ordered two more tacos. No shame. Took them to-go and ate them lakeside at Green Lake -- 10/10 vibes. The guys running the truck are genuinely kind-hearted and personable, which just makes the whole experience even better. Why tacos this good are in Payson, I have no idea... but I'm so glad they are. If you haven't tried Crne yet, what are you waiting for? Whether you're a local or just passing through, this place is a must-hit. Hands down, some of the best and freshest tacos I've ever had -- and that's coming from a Cali native. Will be coming back, again... and again... and again. Bonus tip: they serve Vegan options on Sundays!

I really loved the frybread here. Fresh, perfect texture, delicious…read more I also thought the owner was friendly. Awesome stop during a visit to Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests/ The White mountains. Note that they open at different hours than those listed on Google Maps and do not update the hours on Google when they are closed during the listed hours. They do post on their Facebook page when they open and are responsive to messages on there. They run this business from the back of their home. I got the fry bread with beans but got them as a side (Was charged same price of $6.50 for frybread with beans). They do not use lard in the frybread and do not use lard, chicken stock or beef broth in the beans. They surprisingly didn't know the word vegetarian and at first told me they don't make vegetarian food but the fry bread and beans were naturally vegetarian (and vegan) based on the ingredients they listed when I asked to clarify. Their Frybread is made with enriched bleached flour, baking soda and water. Beans are made with vegetable oil and salt. The beans were simple but good. We like them more after we added salt that was available on the condiment table. The condiment table had raw honey and various mainstream hot sauce (some hot sauces were past their expiration dates) They had a sink in the front which is useful after eating the honey. They have some tables in the front. Their home and business is located on the Fort Apache Reservation. My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back but a decent place 4 stars: Great place. I would go back. 5 stars: I highly recommend stopping whatever you are doing and making plans to try it out! An Evie favorite!

The location was really nice and open with a patio, and the inside was spacious without the tables being packed together. Plenty of room to sit back and actually enjoy your meal. I went with the ribs, and they were smoked just right--exactly how I like them. Honestly, they didn't even need BBQ sauce. I ate some with just the rub and some with sauce, and both ways were delicious. The mashed potatoes were so good I should've ordered more. The mac and cheese wasn't overly creamy, which was perfect for me, and I can't forget the Caesar salad. Really good Caesar salad, and one thing I always appreciate--serve it on a cold plate. This one came out nice and cold and was super fresh. Overall, really good BBQ, great sides, and a nice comfortable location. Definitely worth the stop if you're in Payson.

Hello Everyone: This review is for Rim Country BBQ and Wood Fired Pizzas in Payson, AZ…read more This was our first time at this restaurant. We would definitely come back again. Because we could not decide what to order, we got the sampler plate which had meats, sides, and dipping sauces. The photos show you the "before" and "after" of our meal! Bathrooms are clean. We had no problem finding off-street parking. Analysis of experience: This plate is enough for two people. You get: two ribs, two 1/2 pieces of sausage, a scoop of pulled pork (about 1/3 to 1/2 cup), two thin slices of brisket and some sliced smoked turkey breast. Also included is a sampler container of their dipping sauces to enjoy with your meat. Sides included: baked beans, corn, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, potato salad and mac & cheese. Our meat favorites were the ribs and the pulled pork. This is why: I first tried a bit of each meat with no sauce. I don't want to review sauces and sauces can cover up/mask many issues just like a coat of paint on a wall. Therefore, I started with meat (no sauce) tastings, then moved to the meat and sauce tasting. Ribs: The rib meat easily cut off the bone and was tender. There was not a lot of meat, the bones were pretty big as you can see, but what meat there was had a nice flavor and was tender. Pulled Pork: The pulled pork was some of the most tender I have experienced. This meat went well with ALL the dipping sauces served to us. I did not get a lot of smoke flavor to it, the flavor was subtle, but that allowed for the sauces to shine a little bit. Brisket: The brisket was tender, but I felt the fat line on the top of the brisket was still too intact for me (not rendered enough so the fat juices get down into the meat) and I thought the brisket was a tad dry. Turkey: The turkey breast had a nice flavor, but again, it was very subtle. This meat was also a tad dry, not bad with sauce on it, but could have been a little juicier. That was perhaps my least favorite because it was on the dry side. Sausage: The sausage was 1/2 of a sausage cut in 1/2 again as you can see in the photo. This was a spicy sausage with a charred cut side, very nice. The char on the sausage added a nice crunch to each bite. My husband and I both agreed our favorites were the ribs and the pulled pork and should we return, these two meats would be on our radar. Regarding the sides, here is my review: The yellow corn was average - nothing special. The mashed potatoes were average - nothing special. Mac & Cheese - average, nothing special. The sauce on this item was too runny for us. The sauce wound up against other items on the plate. The cole slaw was nice, fresh tasting, but I think it needed a dash of fennel. The coleslaw and the potato salad (items which are served cold) were co-mingled on the plate with all the hot items. I would have preferred them being served inside a small bowl or container on the serving platter to keep them cold. The potato salad was very good - I would definitely order that again. The beans were excellent - I would definitely order those again. This menu item is also served with a piece of garlic bread which was very good - it had melted butter on it and tasted like garlic! I am giving this 5 Stars even with some short falls regarding flavor and or juiciness because of the environment, friendly staff, clean bathrooms, available to find parking without driving around, and menu choices. The menu is large, enough choices for everyone to get something. If we are back in the area, we will try one of their pizzas. Hannah was our server and she did a nice job checking on us since she knew it was our first time there. Very pleasant, nice smile, and good with her customers. Enjoy!
