Having a hard time understanding the complaints about this place. If you want a fancy restaurant that serves mimosas and shrimp omelets, drive on. But if you want the best biscuits and gravy in the USA while surrounded by flags honoring our troops, you will become an immediate fan. Service was like being home with the family. They are proud of this place and it shows. I have traveled all over America looking for diners like this and I can't wait to come back with friends.

Amazing food, and great prices. By far the best pork chop and eggs!! Came with toast and hash-browns as well. So much good food. The service is great as well. Best place to stop and eat. Lots on decor on the walls, definitely a great, welcosmall town feel.I will go back again!

The customer service in the restaurant is amazing too. Everyone is super friendly and welcoming, and it really has that small-town feel. What really stood out though was the owners. When we went on Friday, we noticed a lot of people had ridden their side-by-sides there. The next morning, we went out riding ourselves and ended up flipping ours onto its side. We weren't sure what to do, so my boyfriend called the restaurant to see if maybe someone could help. One of the owners answered and came out to us within about 20 minutes no hesitation, just asking if we were okay. We're not even locals, just visiting, and they still went out of their way to help us. Truly some of the kindest people we've met. I'm so grateful and would recommend this place to anyone.

The fish and chips were perfectly cooked and the breading was seasoned exceptionally. Their beer selections were good and they even carry moonshine from the nearby brewery. When we learned that Sweetheart had closed and Monica's Cafe had taken over, we decided to make the drive while visiting Show Low from Gilbert during a forest vacation. The decor was modest, rustic, and charming, with a blend of Native American touches and old country western character. The walls were minimalist, but in a way that felt intentional. It did not need to try too hard. As a vegetarian, trying a new restaurant is always a bit of a gamble. You never know whether food is cooked in oil or lard, whether rice or soup has meat-based stock, or whether something that looks vegetarian has hidden meat worked into it somewhere. It can be a tricky line to walk. We drove about 30 minutes to Monica's Cafe hoping for a good meal, and this place absolutely did not disappoint. Honestly, I think the reason the place feels so simple is because they have clearly put their energy where it matters most: the food. I ordered the veggie omelet with added tomatoes, a side of hollandaise sauce, and a pancake on the side. It was surprisingly excellent. After nearly every bite, I kept thinking that the food from this small cafe should not be this good. Everything was flavorful, satisfying, and far exceeded expectations. Next time we are in the area, we will absolutely be coming back. I definitely recommend Monica's Cafe to anyone looking for a great meal in Show Low.
