    Friday Fish Fry

Friday Fish Fry was really good. Tasty and worth the stop. Service was quick and the newly upgraded interior was nice.

Eggs Benedict, and biscuit and gravy. Both were wonderful.

Food was wonderful. Service was good. Hubby loved his biscuits and gravy. My eggs Benedict was perfectly cooked. Will certainly be back.

Traditional breakfast. Super yummy. Pancakes were light and fluffy!! Really enjoyed the coffee refills consistently! Small wait but worth it. Will be coming back. Really liked the renovations.

WELCOME BACK! We are here on re-opening day! Yee- Haw! This was a last minute lunch when we saw they are finally re opened today. The menu is a great mix of classic cafe goodies you would hope for when here. We ordered the Cobb Salad- so good! Lots of goodness! Very fresh and a great price for the size. The staff is learning and yet delightful. The restaurant is fully all new and clean! Come and enjoy all the goodness! Enjoy!

I had the best crunchy French toast I've ever eaten anywhere.

I had the best French toast I've ever eaten anywhere. Also had the breakfast tacos which were amazing. Our server, Nathan, was a delight. We'll definitely be coming back when we're in this area.

The food was good, especially the appetizers. The salad bar was awesome. The service was very attentive and friendly. The restaurant looks like it was recently renovated, very clean and inviting.

Tables in dining room with Deuce of Clubs. They have plenty of booths too

We ordered at the counter and food was brought to our table. They brought fries for the kids meal instead of a fruit cup but quickly and graciously brought it out with a sincere apology. It was one of the best burgers I have had and all three types of fries were the perfect crispness and taste. Will definitely be recommending this anytime someone heads up to Show Low!

"Persnikkity's Food Offers a Lot: Hits the Hungry Spot"…read more Walking into Persnikkity in Show Low (which I have done many times from their old location to their new one), you immediately feel like you've stumbled onto something the town's been keeping to itself. The place has that lived-in charm where locals know each other's orders, and the staff treats you like you're part of the club from minute one. I've made the Asian chicken wrap and twisted beef Philly my reliable go-tos--they nail that balance of fresh and hearty that keeps pulling me back. The morning totchos are a brilliant mess of everything breakfast should be, the chicken and waffle hits that sweet-savory note without trying too hard, and even their bagel with salmon comes out like they actually care about it. The vanilla matcha bubble tea deserves its own mention because it tastes like someone put thought into it rather than just dumping powder into a cup. Service here makes the food taste even better--attentive without hovering, friendly without being fake. The vibe is casual enough that you can show up in whatever you're wearing, but the food quality makes it clear they're taking things seriously where it counts. It's the kind of spot where you find yourself coming back not just for one signature dish, but because the whole experience just works.

The chicken leg was so raw it looked inedible and was a deep blood red color. I asked the waitress to take it back however she came back with the chicken and the statement of the Chef saying it was "cooked to temperature" and that he was a "3 time awarding chef". I was dissapointed by the chefs decisions and won't be coming back ever. We tried the Wednesday Prime Rib night tonight and ordered the 16 Oz Prime Rib (Med Rare), Baked Potato with Creamy Horseradish. When asked how we would like the Baked Potato, we said fully loaded. I'll add that we waited 15 minutes before a waiter/waitress even acknowledged us. Our food came out 40 minutes later! The potato was bleak and lukewarm. No butter. No anything. Fully loaded was fully barren. No Aus Ju or horseradish for the Prime Rib either, and the Prime Rib was actually COLD.. Cold to the touch. The waiter took our plate and came back confirming that it was cold, as did the Chef. When asked if we wanted a new order, we politely declined waiting another 40 minutes, paid for our Coke, tipped the waiter, and left. We felt bad for him that his Cook is serving cold food. Not his fault.. Terrible service & even worse food.

We understand Cattlemen's Steakhouse and Lounge has been in Show Low for quite some time, but cannot compare it to anything prior to February 8, 2026. We understand a remodel occurred in early 2025 and have seen a few pictures of the 'old' look to compare to what we experienced. Overall as far as the decor, it looked nice and the booths were comfortable, however the chandeliers with the bright white LED lights are out of place and annoying! The ambience of a rustic steakhouse should be comforting and relaxing, not cause anxiety due to bright lighting. If the bulbs were softer and less bright white more similar to old fashioned incandescent lights it would probably be fine, but those bulbs are just awful. Yes, it's nice to be able to see your food, but those bulbs make you feel like you are eating in a Walmart. As for decor on the walls, it's too bland and generic and from pictures of the old place, the rustic cowboy look is virtually non existent compared to what was on the walls before. Sometimes less remodeling is better than gutting and removing everything and replacing it with something totally different. It reminded us of the Show Low Cafe as they removed ALL evidence of what was there before that made the place charming and feel LOCAL. Both SLC and Cattlemen's would fit in just fine in a big city now with no evidence left of the previous local charm and art from the looks of it other than the outside of the buildings. I am guessing that many of the locals may feel that they are being thrown under the bus in favor of attracting new customers from faraway places that may have bigger bank accounts. As far as our meal is concerned we actually were pleased for the most part. That evening someone in the kitchen ruined the clam chowder soup by putting broccoli in it. To be fair, the waitress (Stephanie-very nice) did warn us about it and said we could get something else if we didn't like it. We tried it and it tasted like both soup pots were just combined to make one soup. It didn't taste anything like clam chowder, but it wasn't disgusting, so we ate it. A bit on the salty side, but it was edible. That's a huge mistake to make; hopefully the person that made it learned not to do it again. My husband ordered the $45 Filet Mignon and I ordered the $35 12 oz Ribeye. Both of our steaks were cooked properly and tasted very good. The Ribeye could have used a bit more seasoning, but the flavor of the steak itself was very good. The baked potatoes were quite small and I couldn't even cut through the skin on mine, so that was disappointing, as I like to eat the peel of the potato if it's baked right. It was a bit shocking to be served the steak and potato on a normal sized dinner plate where most of the plate was empty. Apparently the soup or salad is included as one of the side options and not above and beyond the 2 sides included in the meal. I remember the days when you got soup or salad and 2 options meant you get 2 side options and soup or salad. At least that was the way things normally went at a restaurant other than a fast food place. It was nice that the menu stated that bread is served upon request, so we didn't sit there and just wait for the bread and not have a clue that you have to ask for it for it to come to your table. Our waitress was very nice and the servers were nice and our meal was served in a timely manner, so no complaints in the service department. Have read that this place has new owners and food quality and service have gone downhill since change of ownership--cannot comment on that other than to say to any 'new' owners or any old owners looking to remodel or refresh an existing long time establishment, it isn't wise to remove all evidence of what existed prior to the remodel or refresh or change in owners. You don't throw the baby out with the bathwater if you want to continue to exist, especially in a small town where the locals that live there year round consist of your most likely customers on a consistent basis. Coming from someone coming from a big city environment down south, that is why we leave the city--to experience local places with local ambience and locally inspired decor that reflects the town we are visiting or moving to and are different than what we have in the big city. Don't just copy and paste what the big corporate owned chain restaurants or stores in the big cities are doing, that's not what most people are looking for. We can get that by spending our money at Outback or The Keg or the likes of those places. We choose your establishment because it is locally owned (hopefully) and different than the usual chain restaurants or stores.

At dinner, each of us had one espresso martini. No one was intoxicated, slurring words, or behaving badly. We arrived together in a lifted pickup truck Uber. As we stepped out, one friend--wearing stiletto heels--briefly slipped on the gravel parking lot (because let's face it, gravel and stilettos gravel don't go together) She immediately caught herself and was completely fine. The moment we walked inside, we were met with the craziest hostility. The brunette behind the counter aggressively interrogated me and another friend about how many drinks we'd had and where we'd been. I fully understand that staff have a responsibility to monitor their guests for safety, but the condescending tone and confrontational delivery were entirely unprofessional. This rbf brunette was literally yelling at us for no reason at all. So as I'm trying to calmly answer all her questions, (even though her tone was rude as hell) she actually turned her chair away from me and began vaping mid-conversation. Yes--vaping. I'm like, are u really just going to turn around, treat me like a dog and start Vaping?! So I asked her to please turn around and at least look at me while I was speaking. But at this point, now I feel incredibly disrespected and ask to speak to a manager. So she rolls her eyes and yells for the "manager" to come in. I started laughing at this point because whoever came in was clearly not the manager... It was a blonde girl who appeared to be just barely 21 and had glowing neon paint drawn all over her nose, eyebrows and jaw, and was wearing booty shorts and some other raver attire. This chick looked like she was on her way to Coachella over actually managing an establishment. I wish I was making this up!! In all of the years that I have worked the service industry in my 20's (serving, bartending, cocktailing, in Scottsdale) I have NEVER been treated with such disrespect and hostility. At this point, my friends and I didn't even want to go in and spend $$$ there. From that point on, we were dismissed and treated like a liability rather than paying customers--all because someone briefly slipped on their own gravel lot. No one was drunk. No one was disruptive. We were simply asking for basic respect and professionalism. We won't be returning, and I strongly suggest others think twice before coming here--especially if you value being treated like a human being. I rarely leave negative reviews; most of mine are positive. But this experience earned every word of mine if not more. Final thought: If a place is this eager to judge, dismiss, and humiliate guests before they even make it past the entry, imagine how they handle things when something actually goes wrong. (Which I'm sure is a nightly event) And know they're going to somehow turn this around on us like it was our fault, so I'm grabbing my popcorn and will be ready for a good laugh bc this place was a JOKE!
