We had an overnight stay at Corduroy Lodge, and our neighbors who grew up in the area recommended this spot for breakfast. It was very busy, but service was pleasantly quirky and welcoming. I recommend checking it out if you find yourself in the area and want a solid breakfast to fill you up.

This popular restaurant provided us a lovely breakfast experience when we were in the area. The decor is fun and comfortable with indoor and patio seating. There are lots of fun signs around to enjoy reading if you have to wait for a table. Our server, plus other staff, were very attentive and took care of any needs we might have had. I ordered the chicken fried steak breakfast with sourdough toast (looked and tasted like the real deal), potato cake (hash browns with onions, peppers, and melted cheese--yum!), 2 eggs over medium (cooked just right), chicken fried steak (kind of thin, but still crispy and tasty), and plenty of gravy on the side as I'd requested. I tried a bit of the pancakes my husband got and they were wonderful. The butter syrup was so good. Our friends enjoyed their meals as well. If you want one of their huge cinnamon rolls, get there early. We missed out this visit! Half of my breakfast had to go in a take away box to enjoy later.

Stopped in here for lunch after a long hike. Beautiful restaurant and very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Their burger and the fries are spectacular. Farmer's Benedict is very yummy. I especially enjoyed their hollandaise sauce. The home fries didn't taste that great. Overall, this is a definitely must visit place while in Pinetop

It was my first time visiting Darbis cafe, and I was really surprised by how packed it was! I went on a Sunday morning. The parking situation is honestly the worst! There's very limited parking and it's very crammed. The wait was also pretty long, but it's understandable as they were packed. The place is small, but cozy. The food was great, and had nice flavor. The pancakes were also nice and fluffy. I think the only thing I left wanting to try was their cinnamon rolls! They looked amazing, but I was too full after eating my breakfast. I will def be back once in town!

The weight wasn't too long. The food was great overall was a great vibe. There was some ants crawling up the wall that made it to our table, but overall super nice Staff and this is definitely the best breakfast spot to go to in Pinetop Lakeside.

Ordered takeout for three people for breakfast at the cabin. The online menu is extensive, ordering by phone was easy, and the food ready fairly quick, however they forgot one of the side items for one of the meals. They were fairly large portions which was nice.

Had a great weekend in Pinetop and stumbled upon this absolute gem. Darbi's Cafe is the cutest little mom-and-pop breakfast spot. Exactly the kind of place you hope to find in a small mountain town. The cinnamon roll was HUGE and incredibly delicious. Soft, warm, and totally worth it. The menu has so many options it was honestly hard to choose, but everything we ordered was really good. You can tell the food is made with care. The service was friendly and welcoming, and the whole experience felt like a home-cooked meal. Cozy, comforting, and unpretentious...in the best way. If you're in Pinetop and want a solid breakfast with great food and a small-town feel, this place is a must.

chicken fried steak with an upgraded mac n cheese side

We ate at Darbi's today around 12:30 for lunch with a group of 7, and wow--this place was hopping! We did have a short wait, but it was totally expected and honestly a good sign. From the moment we sat down, the staff was incredibly friendly. It felt less like a restaurant and more like being welcomed by friends or family. Everyone was attentive, upbeat, and clearly working hard. Our group ordered a little of everything: three Chicken Fried Steaks, a half Chef Salad, Chicken Tenders, the Monte Cristo, and the Fish Fry. Every single dish came out hot and delicious. The portions were generous and the flavors were spot on. I personally had the Chicken Fried Steak and upgraded my side to mac and cheese--so glad I did. It was creamy, comforting, and absolutely hit the spot. The only small negative was that the soup was a bit lukewarm, but honestly, that didn't take away from how much we enjoyed the meal and experience overall. Highly recommend Darbi's if you're in Pinetop. We'll definitely be back!

The place was packed for the holiday weekend but the wait was not long. Service was quick and friendly. Thoroughly enjoyed the Irish coffee. Portions are large so I had a half order of the bananas foster waffle which was perfect. Fluffy waffle, crunchy walnuts and not overly sweet. Coffee was solid. Enjoyed sitting on the patio enjoying a yummy breakfast. And with such a large menu there is something for everyone.

Stopped into Darbi's in Pinetop and had such a great experience. The BLAT was absolutely amazing, the fries were perfectly done, and the Cant put it down cookie definitely lived up to its name from their delicious baked goods selection. The fudge in between the cookies was perfect ! The service was extremely attentive and welcoming such kind gentlemen working there. You can really feel the local hospitality and care in every part of the experience. Definitely a spot I'll be coming back to whenever I'm in the mountains.

Cinnamon roll, pancake flight and omelette

What a great meal! It was busy when we walked in, the host was quick and seemed to know a lot of the regulars. He joked around with the customers. We were quickly seated on a nice outside patio. We had to try the cinnamon roll which was very good. I will be eating it for the next three days it was so big! I had the bacon mushroom and spinach omelette. Which was great! The home fries could have used a little more seasoning. My wife had the pancake flight which was great. They make a buttermilk syrup in house which was delicious and something I never had heard of before. Huge portions, quality food and great service!

Breakfast special stuffed blueberry French toast. Absolutely delicious.

From the friendly greeting and seating, to the staff that really works as a team to ensure top quality, this place is our favorite in this part of the world. Food, regular American style, and prepared with care and skill. Breakfasts are huge, top quality and delicious. This time we had lunch. Wife had the Monte Cristo, not found often anymore. Loved it. Came with a mound of crisp sweet potato fries. My turkey, cranberry, stuffing on whole grain bread was delicious. Thick hunks of home roasted turkey breast and canned cranberry sauce. Mountain of delicious, fresh, fries. Service always efficient, prices not outrageous. This place is popular and always busy.

The café is small, quaint, spotless, and filled with playful bear décor that gives the whole place a warm, cheerful personality. It has the cozy feel of an old-fashioned country diner--the kind of place where you can settle in with a hot cup of coffee and enjoy a hearty, homemade breakfast. And let's talk about the food and those portions--OH MY! I ordered three eggs, bacon, hash browns, and homemade biscuits and gravy. Everything was cooked to order, arrived surprisingly fast, and tasted wonderful. The biscuits and gravy especially satisfied that serious comfort-food craving I had that morning. They were warm, filling, and exactly what I needed! The coffee was a good, strong black brew that fit the country-café experience perfectly, and the prices were exactly what I would expect to pay for such a generous breakfast. The restaurant was busy, and with only two waitresses working, they could definitely have used another set of hands. A few guests had to ask for coffee refills or their checks, but this is a brand-new restaurant, and I am sure they are still working out the little details. The staff was working hard, so bring a little patience and enjoy the experience. Lovely Bear Cafe has all the ingredients to become a local favorite: delicious homemade food, huge portions, reasonable prices, fun décor, and plenty of small-town charm. Give this new café a chance to delight you the next time you are visiting the Pinetop-Lakeside area!
