The Green chili omelet with home fries was sooooo good!
Christa M.

Found this place on Yelp on a recent trip and couldn't have been more pleased! We loved it so much for breakfast one day that we went back for lunch the next day. Delicious food, generous portions, and super nice servers!

Ribeye with chilaquiles and hash browns

AMAAAAZING food!! Such cozy service. We had a group of 7 and they sat us super quickly outside and it was so beautiful outside. The steak and chilaquiles + eggs / hashbrowns were incredible. Coffee was great as well!

Was excited to try this place with all the 5 star reviews. Unfortunately it fell short with us. The waffle was so tough I could hardly cut it with a knife. They used frozen blueberries which I don't like, hard to find the lemon curd, the amount was so small. Hubby had biscuits and gravy, the biscuit was hard and stale. Service was good, and food came out fast. Food was just mediocre. With so many choices for breakfast, probably won't be back.

Chorizo Burrito!

The Chorizo burrito is amazing! The kids all ate all their food which is how you can tell it is really good. The service was also excellent. This place is now my go to breakfast spot in Pinetop.

Green Chili Omelette

This was the best breakfast I have ever had in the Show Low area. I love the mixed menu of country classics like biscuits and gravy, fancy benedicts and Mexican desayunos like chilaquiles. And everything is affordable. The atmosphere is not fancy just clean and orderly with uniformed bussers and servers feeding people. I'm going to focus just on what I ordered -- the green chili omelette. I thought this might be Chile Verde but not quite. It was a delicious mild Spanish sauce with bits of veggies and beef in it. It was on top of (as opposed to inside of) a cheese omelette. It was rich and perfectly seasoned. The pepper jack cheese inside my omelette was the only heat. Just right! The star was the biscuits and gravy though. Read my other reviews. I am constantly comparing and contrasting this deceptively simple American dish every chance I get. Lovely Bear gets a 10. Homemade buttermilk biscuit split with homemade gravy on top and lots of it. I'll never understand why some people order toast when B&G is an option. Bits of sausage and black pepper were in the gravy which can be used as a dip for the hand cut roasted potatoes that came with the omelette. I can't wait to return to try their homemade chorizo and carne asada.

Chorizo eggs benedict
Lori L.

My Mom got the chorizo eggs benedict, which had a healthy portion, some of the best chorizo we had tasted and good home fries. I got the Lovely Bear Plate, with a Belgian waffle topped with berries, lemon curd and vanilla whipped cream along with perfectly cooked soft bacon & scrambled eggs. Great taste, friendly and efficient service. Relaxed, comfortable atmosphere.

When we arrived I saw that they were serving a buffet. I asked the person who seated us if we could order off the menu and he said yes. It's possible that our experience was largely due to not choosing the buffet. We were served chips and salsa soon after we were seated and our drink order was delivered quickly. We looked at the menus and waited to place our order. I saw the server take someone's order two booths away and walk past us. Then he served someone at the next booth and was walking past us again. I asked if we could place our order. My wife had the two item special with two chicken burritos. I had the large combination with a chimichanga. Both orders came with rice and beans. The rice and beans were the worst we've ever had. Tasteless. The chicken burritos had shredded chicken without seasoning of any kind. The beef chimichanga was similar. There was some taste because it was deep fried, but the meat itself had no seasoning. We won't be back.

We sat inside at first and I was attacked by fruit flies so we moved to the covered patio and it was better. Love the music outside too! We ordered 2 Navajo tacos with green sauce and a combo A- burro and crunchy taco, Plus 3 Cadillac margaritas. The service is a bit slow but not horrible for the fall time.

Their beans were delicious here- super flavorful. They do not use lard in the restaurant and the beans were vegetarian and vegan. The red sauce was ok- wasn't as strong of a red chili sauce as I had hoped. The frybread tasted to me like it might be from a mix and wasn't the best I have had but it did stay crispy and good texture with everything on it and all in all it was flavorful and enjoyable. I think the beans made this dish. The table salsa was very mild for us but had a good fresh flavor. They brought us an additional hot salsa which had great spice but less fresh flavor- mixed both of those together we found the salsa we wanted! Seemed like one of the owners confused vegetarian with gluten free at first. Their horchata is made by Pepsi, not housemade. Their Sopapillas are made with the same batter they make their frybread. My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back but a decent place 4 stars: Great place. I would go back. 5 stars: I highly recommend stopping whatever you are doing and making plans to try it out! An Evie favorite!
