This mountain oasis restaurant is the perfect spot to eat after a hike. The diner style food was the perfect pick me up. The fried pickles were the star of the meal for me! Ordered carry out for two at closing. Back at the cabin realized the order had an error and we were over charged for a side (Food was just OK). Called to report the issues several days later (delay due to our elderly dog passing away that same night) and was given a hard time. I was told repeatedly by the manager that I should have known to call after closing since they were still there (really?). I was asked, I bet you ate the incorrect food, didn't you? (Wow). I was also asked if I asked for refund on the cabin since we checked out early to get the dog to a vet (Wow again). Just unprofessional. When asked what I wanted to do about it and I asked for a half refund on the incorrect salad. I was told no and would received a $2 or $3 refund. She said she would mail me a check with that amt, along with the overcharge. read more

I wish I would've taken a picture. Not sure if our omelette was cold because the server let it sit, or because it was not very fluffy. It was flat, didn't seem like 3 eggs at all, scant cheese inside and on top. Very little bacon as well. Hash browns were horrible. Barely cooked and about 1/4 cup and also cold. The English muffin had a good homemade taste but was also cold. Mimosas were the best thing. Adorable kid Silas (?)made the visit fun to watch him help. The atmosphere is beautiful. We sat outside. Came to Greer, AZ for the first time for Fall Break vacation. we really enjoyed our stay in Greer. We hiked, kayaked, fished. Played board games in our cabin with friends who also vacationed with us. They introduced us to Greer and Rendezvous Diner. We finished off our trip by having brunch on the way out of town. The portions are big. The pancakes are HUGE!! Full plate size! Our table ordered pancake, French toast, coutnry fried steak, biscuits and gravy, and breakfast burrito. The highlight was the country fried steak. Friendly service. We lucked out and we're one of the first parties in the restaurant and by the time we were finishing our meal, there was a long wait outside. read more

We stopped in for a late lunch earlier today. We were able to be sat right away although it did take a bit to be waited on but they were happy with the food. We opted to try the fish and chips, bacon cheeseburger, and hot pastrami. All were served with fries and the meals were all tasty. We also opted to try some deserts. We tried strawberry rhubarb pie, peach cobbler with ice cream and pumpkin pie ice cream bar. All of the deserts were amazing. I dropped in here for breakfast and the special was a breakfast burrito covered in red or green chili sauce. I got mine with green chili on the side. Can I just say yummm!! My lunch companion (my dad) got his with the red chili but he tasted the green and like it better ... so I'll recommend the green. The coffee was also good, which matters to me because I drink my coffee black so if it sucks, I know .... I'm not masking or enhancing the flavors with cream or sugar. Anyways .... the view from the patio was amazing, the food came out quick and they have super cute country decorations everywhere. I really enjoyed that there were humming birds buzzing all around the various feeders they had hanging up along the outdoor seating area. Pretty pathetic to say the least. This food was so bad. The fish and fried green beans were cold like it had been sitting waiting for the next customer. The crust on the pie looked like it wasn't baked long enough if at all, and looked like it does on the photo when I received it, already eaten, ugh! They add an automatic 15% gratuity to the bill and I can understand why because with this type of food, and unwelcoming attitude, I'm pretty sure they struggle for tips. The place is pretty cute inside but that's it. This place has been in business for 40 years. It's been the Rendezvous for the last 30 years. Family owned and operated. The current owner bought it from family. They open at 8 am, and start with a line. Be patient. This is a vacation area. They have in door and outdoor dining. It's cute, clean, and eclectic. Everyone is friendly and attentive. This is the most precious gem in Greer, as you can see by the amount of diners on any given day. The food is better than homemade and at a reasonable price. The service is very friendly and efficient, but on weekends they get very busy. Tip: if you want to order from their breakfast menu, get there by 10:30 as they stop taking breakfast orders 11 sharp. Pretty good restaurant considering it's almost in the middle of nowhere. There always seems to be a wait here during the weekends but it's nothing too bad. This place has the BEST blueberry muffins!! I'm not even a fan of blueberry muffins but we make the 4 hour one way drive just to buy them. We have been here several times since 2017 and I'm not sure why I never reviewed them before. We took the drive yesterday for lunch and of course to bring home 4 blueberry muffins (one didn't make it lol). The temperature there is so nice that even sitting on the porch is lovely... and I hate outdoors. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The food is amazing and have an appetite because the portions are a good size. It is a rather touristy area, so there is a wait on occasion but it's never that bad. The decor is so much fun, family photos, cool signs, and I love their bottle collection on the windowsill by the front. And it get there later in the afternoon, ask about the muffins, they may still have some!! read more

Overall this place is a solid 3 stars. The service is great, so that brought the rating up. We had lunch on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday. In the off-season (after Labor Day until Memorial Day), this is the only breakfast game in town. The food itself was mostly frozen stuff for lunch that you could get from Costco, which included burgers and pizza bites. The pastrami sandwich was probably the best item, and I would rate that 4 stars. The frozen stuff I would rate as 2 stars. The breakfast quality was higher, but none of those items were pre-frozen. They are not customer friendly at all! The first sign you see directs you to stand at the bottom of the stairs, in the sun, and wait for an employee to acknowledge you and direct you to a seat. We had two employees walk past us twice each before one of them unhappily acknowledged us. We sat down told her what we would like and waited 5 min for someone to say they'd be right with us then walked past us 4 times, after 10+ minutes another employee came and took our order, by this time we had decided to take it to go. 10 + minutes later 2 pieces of dessert were brought to us. When we opened them to eat later they were literally slopped into the boxes. In addition to the wait at the stairs a sampling of the other snarky signage included: " Be nice or leave-really!", "No wifi try talking" and in the bathroom, " changing a toilet paper roll does not cause brain damage" and another one telling men to aim appropriately and women to stay seated the whole time. I really don't think they enjoy owning a resturant or serving customers. We will NEVER return! read more

The diner is owned by a great couple Rachael and David who bought the restaurant and have not only kept the charm and ambience the same as it has been for many years as well as improving the quality of the food they so proudly serve. We love this place and have been coming here for years. We have ordered many things on the menu and they always hit right. The cherry and blackberry pies were both absolutely delicious. But, the real highlight here is the red and green chili sauce. No matter what you have it with you're gonna love it! Service has always been super friendly and fast. You will never run out of things to look at in this adorable cafe! And everything is SPOTLESS. I swear they have hundreds of knickknacks and there wasn't a speck of dust on any of them! Long our favorite place on the mountain...we often drive 40 minutes from Pinetop for breakfast or lunch. Did so 10/2 and it was awful. Service was absolutely horrible, and they weren't that busy. Wish I could give a locally owned place a better review but man it was a bad experience. A woman that came to the table to spew out the specials. She said it without taking a breath. My mom kindly said, 'wow you have a great memory'. She snapped back "well I'm the owner!" Yikes. I ordered a grilled cheese that consisted of a half melted slice of processed velveta cheese between 2 pieces of store bought white sandwich bread. I haven't been to Greer since before the fire and I swear it is the same friendly staff at Rendezvous that I recognized from years before. There seems to be a shortage of restaurants in Greer especially with the "iconic" lodge and subpar restaurant down the street I will not mention. Rendezvous is so cute and eclectic with a great patio. The fried zucchini was okay not great not bad, I had a Texas burger with chili and cheese smothering it with tortilla strips (after all with the hour drive from Pinetop you have to splurge) my partner got blackberry cobbler and raved about it I got a brownie piled with whip cream and ice cream it was amazing the burger was great and had to roll myself to the car. read more
