First time here in a few years. Started with drinks at connected bar next door. Great vibe. Then passed through to restaurant and brought a nice bottle for our dinner. Crab cake was terrific. Right amount of crab and nice size in a piccata sauce. Spot on. Well worth the $16.95. Eggplant Rollitini was flavorful with creamy ricotta and excellent smooth red sauce. Had the stuffed pork chop $27 and swordfish $33 specials for entrees. Very tasty but not as good as appetizers. Was surprised at high price of specials. Will definitely return and try another menu item with the red sauce (one of the best this foodie has had). Cozy atmosphere with good service. Packed so make reservations. $93 for only 2 appetizers and 2 entrees is a wee bit pricy. But with the connected bar as a pre dinner warmup makes this place a good choice. read more

We came here last night for our Anniversary, our first time. Everything was perfect. The food was delicious and flavorful. We had the crab cake for an appetizer. Let me say, one of the best or maybe the best crab cake I've ever had. For our meals we had the Bronzino special with scallops and shrimp, and the Shrimp Tuscany. We cannot wait to go back. My boyfriend and I went to this restaurant for our anniversary. We made reservations for 8PM and was seated as we walked in at 7:55PM. The service was great. Our waitress always checked up on us and asked if everything was good. The food I got was the chicken cutlet over spaghetti. The spaghetti came on the side but it was a large portion of it. I even had to bring some of it home. My boyfriend ordered the Zuppa Di Pesce and he said it was fantastic. We will definitely be going here again. read more

Had dinner here a few years ago. Was in neighborhood last week and decided to stop there for late lunch, but the restaurant was not open for lunch. The owner saw us at the door trying to see if they were open, unlocked the door and said he was getting ready for dinner and if we didn't mind waiting a bit, he would be happy to serve us So we went in and had the whole place to ourselves. We were given the menu and he told of his specials. He mentioned an interesting veal dish with some kind of mushrooms that I never heard of. When I asked a question about the dish, he explained something about the mushrooms (I think he said they were imported - whatever he said, I do remember that they were described as special). When I told him that I would like to try the dish, he mentioned the price, which was expensive. I appreciate that he mentioned the price so that I wouldn't get sticker shock when the check was presented. (Usually, when specials are mentioned, they leave out the price) I ordered it, and the veal, mushrooms and sauce were delicious. A good choice, and a new experience. Since we were the only ones in the restaurant and it was not officially open for dinner yet, the owner had a bit of time to talk to us. Currently, the place is small and intimate and BYOB. But,, he said he is soon knocking down a wall to expand and will better be able to accommodate private parties. There will also be a bar. The food was great. And the owner was friendly. Oh! And I was pleasantly surprised when I got the bill. Since I ordered an expensive dish, I was prepped to get a hefty bill. But since everything else on the menu that we ordered was average priced, our entire bill was quite affordable. What was supposed to be a late lunch, turned into a lovely dinner. read more

Great atmosphere, cozy and clean. Fried calamari, Sea bass special and spaghetti puttanesca were AMAZING. Spaghetti and meatballs special was ok. Meatballs were just ok and spaghetti was VERY al dente, but that's a personal preference. Cavatelli with broccoli raab was good, shrimp were cooked well. This is a place with some great aspects and some not-so-great aspects. As far as the great, I have to start with the service. I'm not sure if I have been to many other restaurants with better service than Casa Giuseppe. My family went back a second time a few months after our first visit and the waitress remembered our faces. How often does that happen?! I also love the fact that they do not rush you out here. They seem to encourage you to take your time and stay for awhile after the meal. I can't tell you how annoying it is to be rushed out of your seat to sit another party. As far as the food, I had the chicken parm. I have to say I also enjoyed the portion of pasta on the side, which was large. However, the sauce lacked flavor for me and the chicken just overall did not taste too spectacular. Overall, I'd say the food is OK - I have definitely had better but not horrible. Being a jersey girl, I've eaten at well over 100 claims-to-authentic Italian restaurants. This was by far the best -- and extremely local to me. I wish I heard of it sooner! We started off with the crab cake appetizer with capers in a lemony-wine sauce. Seriously, so moist, delicious, to die for. I'm a crab cake snob and this was by far the best I've had. Since most of the menu items contained pork and I do not eat it, I ordered the penne alfredo with chicken. So good, literally, so, so fresh and good. Their house made cheesecake with ricotta was so fluffy, not too sweet, and had NO crust just how I love it. Reminded me of the cheesecake at Carmine's in NYC and AC. The service was great, its BYOB and the food was reasonably priced. Definitely a must to try out. read more

What a cozy little place filled w home cooked meals I started w some mussels in marinara sauce which were pretty tasty. I ordered the Chicken Fontini I hope I spelled that right but It had prosciutto and mozzarella and a i pink sauce which was great. Very filling so take it easy on the bread. The evening started off well until dinner when the order of tripe was not up to the same standard as previous visits and we where not offered would you like to order something but they did the right thing by not charging..but the person left hungry..then the hostess asked if we were done and we hadn't even ordered dessert because she had people waiting not my issue dont overbook your room. Four of us were visiting from out of town and we had a fantastic experience here on July 22, 2018. The food was absolutely delicious. Our waiter, Juan, was very attentive and friendly. After reading such rave reviews I had to give this place a try. Overall there was a mix of good and bad. Starting with the good, the crab cake appetizer and hog wings were great. I enjoyed the veal Giuseppe and my wife and cousin said the sirloin was very bland. My cousin's wife had the pasta with lump crab and she said it was tasty. The biggest let down had to be the service. There's an older waitress who is great but everyone else is not up to snuff. All things considered, this place is a great value and the ingredients were very fresh. I'll definitely give this place another shot real soon. read more

All I could say is the food was fantastic from A-Z! The food was great so tasty and portions where were big! The atmosphere was warm and very welcoming! The Maitre D Sherral, Chef Joe and waiters were all friendly and very accommodating! My friend had the eggplant appetizer as an entree and it was delicious. We had the almond tiramisu for dessert & it was so fresh! Only problem, the Rush to move us out, never heard of a Time limit. Also, the female Hostess accused a female of breaking a wine glass as we departed. Untrue !!!! and unacceptable !!!!!. Love this place! Ate there last night (about the 5th time). The food is so delicious...never had a dish there that I didn't want to devour. Last night had the carpaccio (one of my favorite dishes anywhere), it was traditional, fresh and well executed. The appetizer was quite large, my daughter and I shared it and my husband nibbled and there were still leftovers. Had the crabcake appetizer as my main (they offered to upsize it, but I was saving room for dessert.) It was, fab, like no other...it was in a piccata type sauce. Yum... dessert was almond tiramisu...whats to say?... I didn't want to share. Hubby and daughter had pastas...tasted hub's...wow, even he couldn't finish it! They will even do a 1/2 order on certain pastas if you ask (Not specials). The service was delightful...funny, helpful, accommodating.
