I was in the mood to try a new Italian restaurant and found this place via Yelp and google. Came here on a Wednesday night. Was greeted by host when entered and sat down. Started off with the smoked salmon and mozzarella which was good, the salmon had a Smokey taste to it. For my main, I got the chicken Parmigiana with a side of salad and ziti pasta. The whole meal was delicious with generous portions. Overall had a good dining experience. * Parking on premise * Good service * Credit card surcharge of 3%

Superb food, fancy service, and wonderful atmosphere! If you're in NJ Gianna's is a must try. We came after the Giants football game for a birthday dinner. The staff were super knowledgeable and accommodating. A chef's kiss to everything we tried from on menu from the soup to the salad to the salmon you can't go wrong with anything. It a tastes like it came from an Italian grandmother's kitchen..yum! I will definitely be back! #enjoygoodpeople

Conveniently located less than 2 miles from the Meadowland Sport Complex, this classic, family-owned establishment is just the kind of place one would want to find when visiting North Jersey. Our last visit was 4 years ago, and my partner, our friends and I made a return visit yesterday with friends at Gianna's, situated in Carlstadt. Reservations were easily made the day before via Open Table. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the staff and made our way to a table by the front window. The menu is classic Italian, with either single or family-style portions, and is made with all the attention to detail and quality of ingredients one would expect. We decided on Chicken Parmigiana, Filet of Basa Sole Scampi, Chicken with Fettuccine, Steamed Vegetables, and a side of Broccoli Rabe with Sausage. Complimentary bread started our dinner. Our meal came with a salad. The food was absolutely delicious, well seasoned, and the closest one will get to home-made Italian cooking. Some of us saved room for dessert, as most is made on site, and decided on bread pudding and giant cream puffs. The staff was very funny with a sense of humor. We never felt rushed, and the service was good. We had a great meal as our stomachs were satisfied, which we can continue to recommend.

This was an average place. The pasta was cooked well, but the shrimp was over cooked and extremely tough to chew. I ended up not really eating any of them. The cannoli was great! In terms of table service, our waitress left a lot to be desired. She didn't come to our table unless we called her over. There was another waiter who was telling her to be more attentive but she started a whisper argument with him...right next to our table. It really dampened the mood. We left shortly after that incident happened.

Gianna's is a very small, fancy, and expensive Italian restaurant. The staff is extremely amable and try to make you feel at home. It seems like they tend to get a lot of regulars and get to know you. The menu online greatly different from the restaurant menu. The restaurant serves both single and family sized meals. This place is for like a fancy family dinner. They also give you a small loaf of bread. We got the chicken parm with linguini francese and rigatoni with broccoli rabe and sausage. The chicken parm was very good. I liked the lemon sauce with it. The pieces were very big too. I thoroughly enjoyed the rigatoni plate, which had a very oily sauce though. I loved the broccoli rabe and sausage, which had lots of flavor.

We really enjoyed this place! The lasagna, ravioli and stuffed peppers were REALLY good! The stuffed peppers were really unique and I'm glad we tried it because we really liked it! I have to say, the only thing we didn't like were the meatballs. It just didn't have the right taste to them. Everything else was really good! Loved their wine and prices of wine! The service was great and fast and the inside of the restaurant has a really cute authentic Italian feel to it! I would most definitely come back here again and really enjoyed my meal!

Always drive by here and never went inside until this day! What an amazing experience!! The food was delicious and it was so much that we had leftovers. They started off with warm bread and butter which was hard to stop eating. Then our meals came with salads and pasta (penne vodka was a bit extra). Overall had a great experience and enjoyed the food. Looking forward to going back!

this restaurant was suggested by a coworker who has eaten here many times. As my first time I was willing to try. You really can't go wrong with Italian. However, this wasn't just any Italian restaurant. Gianna's is authentic; like grandmas cooking. Wonderful service, atmosphere and meal. Highly Recommend.

The menu isn't massive, but they cover every category with extreme precision and do it really well. Seafood, pasta, veal, chicken, and all the classic appetizers you can think of from stuffed artichokes, zucchini blossoms, and house-made burrata. The ambiance is old-school Italian in the best way: timeless, romantic, and cozy. It works just as well for an intimate date night as it does for a small group dinner. Bonus points for being BYOB. We ordered the veal marsala and the seafood pomodoro. The veal was pounded to perfection and swimming in a ridiculously addictive sauce. The seafood pasta was cooked perfectly and loaded with fresh shrimp, clams, and mussels and you can taste the quality and care put in the food. Meals are served with a salad to start, and you can expect to spend around $35 per entrée, which feels more than fair for the quality. We were genuinely impressed and were treated with a lot of attention throughout the meal. The concept of the restaurant being run by two italian twins was honestly so sweet. Highly recommend if you're looking for classic Italian done right without trekking into the city.

Others had the seafood risotto, lobster salad and sausage over broccoli rabe. Everything was delicious and our waiter was fantastic and attentive. This was honestly one of the best sea basses I've had in a while. The owner even popped over to say hello, which was very thoughtful. I was a little confused by the vibe of the inside, even though it was gorgeous. Super sky high ceilings, large windows, a large wraparound bar, and plush seating. If they had a layer of apricot jam inside that would literally take it to the next level. For dinner I ordered the Bistecca. My steak was could perfectly but the flavor was a little lacking. The vibe of the restaurant is very comfortable. It is the kind of spot you walk into after a long day or a productive day and you just know you are about to eat something good. It feels like a family run place, even if it is not actually run by family. It has that warmth. You can tell it is an important part of the neighborhood. I even noticed pictures of community members on the wall, which says a lot. Now, the food. There is hot food, cold food, and plenty of items you can take home. I ordered a chicken parmesan sandwich, and let me tell you, it was the size of a skinny football. I am not exaggerating. It took me almost a day and a half to finish it. It tasted exceptional, and I actually had to stop myself from eating the whole thing in one sitting so I would not slip into a food coma. One tip, eat it while it is hot. That is when it is at its peak power. My friend agreed with me about the overall vibe and quality. If I am ever in the neighborhood again, I will gladly go out of my way just to try more of their dishes. You do not find spots like this easily. New York City has great food, but a place with this combination of warmth, quality, portion size, and charm is rare. In another city, this could easily be a reservation only spot packed every night. Not sure if it was because we had kids with us or other factors. ---- Not one time did anyone come by to check on how we were doing or if our dishes were to our liking. MIXED THOUGHTS --------------------------- = The food sort of - mentioned above. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS -------------------------------------- = We arrived at 6PM and dined till 8:15PM on Christmas Eve and the restaurant was busy, but not overly so. We made a reservation, but there were plenty of open tables. = They served from a condensed Holiday menu for Christmas Eve. CONCLUSION -------------------- = The food was up and down, but mostly up for me. Service was disappointing to say the least - not because they weren't friendly to us, but just because of the speed and the lack of attention.
