Treated myself before fasting. Having a procedure done on Tuesday. If this is my last meal, what a way to go! Chicken with cappelini, prociutto, and mozzarella in a creamy pink sauce. read more

The food was excellent, the bread crusty, the service was excellent. Definitely worth a second, third, and fourth visit

We have been to this restaurant a few times now and it does not disappoint. We recently went and I had the bronzini on the special menu, it was amazing! My husband enjoyed the double cut pork chop with hot peppers also a special. The appetizers we got which were crab cakes and eggplant rolitini, were so delicious! Love the freshness of the food and the fact it's a byob! Wish the restaurant was a little bigger was pretty crowded the night we went but would definetly go back and recommend to anyone! read more

Tried this place out for date night. Yelp reviews helped us decide on giving it a try. The waitress was amazing and everything we ate was delicious! We will be going back! Highly recommend read more

Love this place! Ate there last night (about the 5th time). The food is so delicious...never had a dish there that I didn't want to devour. Last night had the carpaccio (one of my favorite dishes anywhere), it was traditional, fresh and well executed. The appetizer was quite large, my daughter and I shared it and my husband nibbled and there were still leftovers. Had the crabcake appetizer as my main (they offered to upsize it, but I was saving room for dessert.) It was, fab, like no other...it was in a piccata type sauce. Yum... dessert was almond tiramisu...whats to say?... I didn't want to share. Hubby and daughter had pastas...tasted hub's...wow, even he couldn't finish it! They will even do a 1/2 order on certain pastas if you ask (Not specials). The service was delightful...funny, helpful, accommodating. Great new twist...you can byob (no corkage fee)OR order from the attached bar, which, by the way, was beautiful and happenin'. Will be back...A LOT! Don't miss this place! read more

Delicious Lots of shellfish choices Service is outstanding Consistent Portions are good Never had a bad meal here read more

Great place with reasonable prices. Bread is hot and fresh, had the eggplant and calamari appetizers, both were fresh and delicious. The ordered the fettuccine Christina which was very tasty. Will definitely be going back. read more

Came in for mother's day. The service was really fast and pretty good overall. We were a total of 14 people, so I cannot really comment on every dish that was ordered. Mine, was some sort of Chicken Balsamico (all I tasted was a lot of balsamic vinegar). My girlfriend had the Fettuccine Christina and while it tasted good, it was possibly the hottest dish of pasta I had ever seen. We had to wait about 5 minutes before we actually could eat it, makes you wonder about how long it cooked for. Maybe it was just the sheer volume of customers in the restaurant, but pasta that hot is not normal. read more

The best Italian place around our area. So friendly and personable, we love this place for every date night!

So my family dined here tonight after being here in the past. It has always been mediocre. My in laws frequent it so they are friendly with the head waitress. We ordered a calamari dish that was an appetizer. I ordered the appetizer size and my parents ordered dinner size. When they brought the 3 dishes to the table, the sizes were almost difficult to distinguish from one another. When we received the bill we were charged (for the entree size) $33 for a small portion of shrunken calamari and tiny frozen shrimp. The thing is...the portion was not double but the price was! I spoke to the head waitress and she went in kitchen to come back ten seconds later to tell me the chef/owner said he did give you more for the entree portions. Complete lie. At that moment they should have reduced the price. She basically threw the check in my hands and said sorry he's not going to do anything about it. Then walked away. As we were leaving, the waiter said goodnight I hope you enjoyed everything. I told him we would not be back because we were ripped off. The head waitress runs over and asks what the problem was. She was like a nasty, psychotic angry person asking why I was yelling at her waiter!!! I was not at all. I was simply giving him my feedback as we were walking out. So needless to say, we will never go back. Also, my hubbies pork chop was completely raw inside. It then goes back into the kitchen to be reheated. It was like rubber when it came back. Overall, I'd skip this restaurant. There is little professionalism within staff and a crummy atmosphere with brown stains on the ceiling. Plenty of good places in lyndhurst and I'd pass this one up. read more

This one is hard to review because the food is great but the same can not be said about the service. I have been here about 5 or 6 times and the quality of service depends who serving. The place is extremely small for dining and some of the tables were so wobbly my wine glass almost fell off the table a few times. I wish they would of expanded where the bar is now currently. read more

Wow. We travel for a living and were in the area . Stopped by this place for authentic Italian food. What we received was an off the chart meal and service. Our waitress Cheryl was super nice , informative and made every special sound like a must have. If you are in the area this place is a must read more

a freind told me about this place and it has become my favorite restaurant in town. The bolognese sauce in awesome and I like the ravoli in vodka as well. I have been getting take-out every week since i went the first time. Place is small but food is awesome. Top notch!! read more

A surprising find in Lyndhurst which can easily compete with the finest Italian cuisine in Manhattan. At the end of my meal I would have licked the plate clean if I could have gotten away with it. The bill for 3 people came in under $50. Nice people, efficient service. Definitely check it out - you'll need reservations for dinner but lunch is just as good. Live music Thursday nights! read more

Food was amazing, service was friendly, only complaint I have was the restaurant not having a baby seat for my 2 year old, that changed my whole experience. read more

Excellent!!! Don't change, your doing a fabulous job!!! Great food, great service! I never been disappointed dining at your establishment. Your waitresss, red hair was great! Will be dining more often at this establishment. My new favorite restaurant! read more

I came here with my husband for a date night. The staff and ambiance are great, everyone was friendly, funny and attentive. The food is standard Italian American fare with great specials while I was not blown away by the flavors, everything tastes fresh. With its prices being so reasonable and being byob, we will definitely be coming back. read more

Beyond happy that we found this restaurant! The food is outstanding! We went for dinner last night for apps we ordered the steamed clams and a house salad. For dinner, we ordered two entrees from the specials - i ordered the branzino and my fiancee ordered the squid ink pasta with shrimp and scallops. We were both blown away how delicious the food was. The seafood was so fresh and cooked perfectly! Also the service and hospitality was great! We will definitely be back and this may be our new go-to italian byob spot!! read more

Since moving to Lyndhurst 2 years I've passed this restaurant many times, but never had a meal.....boy what I have been missing. The service was impeccable even though for a packed dining room there were only 2 servers who multitasked. Everything right from the warm crusty bread to the cappuccino was superb. Compliments to the chef; you've won me over. read more

From someone who has a very picky italian father...this place is amazing italian food. My dad loves the tripe...he said it reminds him of my grandmother's cooking...which is a big compliment. read more

If I could give additional stars I would. It was a quick spontaneous dinner with my daughter. This place exceeded our expectations!! Greeted by wonderful staff, the service was great and the food was amazing. Looking forward to the next time! read more

This was the worst experience ever. My husband made reservations to celebrate my birthday at this place. When we got to the restaurant no one was able to help us. They just kept saying, "We don't know what to tell you", when we kept saying we had reservations. They could not sit us at a table because large groups of people walked in. We asked to speak to the manager and they told us he is in the kitchen and can't come out. We saw the waiter talking to him and looking at us and he didn't even try to help us with the situation. He completely ignored it and stood in the kitchen. After that, we told them we were leaving and they said " oh ok you will regret it, goodbye. VERY POOR SERVICE. ABSOLUTELY THE WORSE MANAGER AND RESTAURANT EVER. So disappointed. Do not count on your reservations for this place. You will regret it. read more

BEST crab cake I've ever had! Also the blackened shrimp over sautéed spinach is amazing. The chicken Milanese is also a five star in my opinion. You definitely will not be disappointed at Casa Giuseppe!!!! read more

Great neighborhood restaurant in Lyndhurst. Been going here for a few years and always feel welcome. The food is very good and you can't beat the price. We almost always get Cheryl as our waitress and she is just fantastic- I was bummed about a dish they took off the menu and they made it for me anyway. Love this place! read more

Every time we eat here the food has been nothing short of superb. The crab cake appetizer is delicious- all crab no filler. My husband and son love the tripe appetizer- full of garlic flavor! BYOB is a must and enjoy every meal!! read more

Everything we heard about this restaurant was true. Food delicious, especially the crab cake and fried artichokes! Our server, Maria was very friendly and knowledgeable. We went on a Saturday night, made reservations for 9 people. Place was packed! The only negative was that once we were served coffee, before our desserts were brought out, the check was on the table. We felt that they were rushing us out because there were people waiting outside by that time. Didn't leave a great impression, but we understood. We will still go back for the food. read more

Food good, service fair. Beware prices on specials are $$$$. It is expected that specials are slightly higher but this was unreasonable. My fault for not asking before ordering. An order of steak giambotta was priced at $37.95. More than double the price of a regular entrée . Although a tasty dish, it did not justify that price tag. This is a dish prepared with sirloin steak, not a prime cut of meat! Lyndhurst has many fine Italian Restaurants, check out Gelone's on Ridge Road. Specials are not more than double in pricing. They got me once but not again! Will not return for this reason. read more

Great food! Just wish they had a bigger menu and that their specials weren't double the price of the regular menu prices! But really tasty food. read more

On March 28th, I celebrated my birthday at Casa Giuseppe's Restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious and the waitress was a blast. She was affiant, and very entertaining. We had a wonderful time!!!!!!!!!! read more

My Wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our meals. As seasoned veterans of Italian dining it takes a great deal of skill to get our attention and even more for us to return. Of which we plan on doing more often. The staff and chef are eager to please and altering the menu seemed rather easy. Just call ahead for the meatballs and spaghetti. read more

We enjoyed our first visit here and were excited to bring friends; we made reservations. We were seated but had to change tables because others were at that table but had gone to the bar. Then they seated us in front of service area/door. Live music too loud for small space. It made it difficult to enjoy conversation. Food was excellent again; love the Shrimp Tuscany. read more

Wow it doesn't get better at this restaurant for anything classic italian and/or seafood. The chef is an adventurist as well! Just had Hog Wings (?) at Casa Giuseppe! Amazing small pork shanks! Delicious; apparently the Chef traveled to Maryland, sampled these and then recreated his experience for his diners. Love this place!! Go Chef Joe!! read more

My wife and I went to this restaurant last year for Valentines Day and it was excellent. We went again this year and they lost our reservation and did not even give us the opportunity to speak with a manager. Obviously our experience was not good. read more

Having eaten at Casa Giuseppe many times and loving their food. I can't tell you how disappointed we were Saturday not to be given a table when we had reservations. We had 8:00 pm reservations for 2 people. I don't expect to sit at a table that sits 6. However, it is unacceptable that people who came in at 8:30 pm were given a table before we were. 8:40 still no table and although the hostess offered us a drink on her, we left for another restaurant. Not acceptable at all; maybe she knew the other people but poor customer service. Having been to the restaurant before, we know the tables along the back wall have been broken up to sit for 2 people and smaller groups. The later reservations should have waited for the bigger table that had been there for sometime to vacate. We had already been waiting 30 minutes but yet they were sitted before us. So disappointed. Not sure if I would recommend to anyone after this. read more

Small, intimate, charming restaurant. Attentive & knowledgeable staff. Offered Italian bread & butter and water immediately. Prix fixe menu on Tues & Wens. Outstanding pasta fagioli soup, salad of mixed greens & iceburg with house dressing. Excellent eggplant parm, and pasta cooked just past al dente. Chicken piccata/potato/asparagus wonderful. Delicious ricotta cheesecake for dessert. A real find. We will be back. read more

Kathy, Kathy, Kathy !! We keep coming back for great food and your extraordinary service. Tonight, it was the crab cake and the grilled octopus with saffron; followed by our old standby Veal Giueeppe and the pasta special with crab and shiitake mushrooms - amazing. With our own wine, of course !! The only thing -- or should say person -- we really missed tonight was Cheryl. Please bring her back ASAP!! It's not the same with out the dynamic serving duo - Kathy and Cheryl. Joe, you are a fantastic chef but its not a dining experience without that two-some. read more

The best restaurant in the area. Great service. The Squid Ink Pasta and the Hog Wings are amazing. I've tried almost everything on the menu and it is all great. The crab meat pasta. Fettuccine Christina. The pork chops. Etc, etc, etc. It's BYOB and there is a wine bar connected that will bring over wine\beer\cocktails right to your table. We always stop there for an after dinner drink. Reservations are usually needed on the weekends. read more
