Came here in a Saturday night and couldn't be more thrilled. Food was great as always as in my second time here. Service was great as well. Hopefully you get Maria as your waitress she's great!! Next door there a bar with a dj and it was packed so this is a must try. Definitely will be visiting soon!

This place had fantastic service, the manager was so friendly and checked in on us frequently that's so nice to see. The food was great i'd say the highlights were the mussels in red sauce and my entree the chicken fontina was really good, the vodka sauce is very rich so make sure you're ready for a big meal. The holiday decorations were warm and cozy! Would definitely come back and it's byob so bonus!

Casa G is our favorite neighborhood restaurant ! It's nestled in the little town of Lyndhurst. It's our go-to for delicious Italian food. Everything on the menu is scrumptious. Chef Joey's food is always spot-on. That's why we keep coming back. The generous portions are perfect for sharing or taking home.(trust me, reheating it the next day is still just as delish!) If you're ever in the area, you have to check them out ! Bring your family &/or friends or come for a date night! Thank me later !

My friend Doug Eppel and I were in Lyndhurst so we decided to visit a place that I have heard great things about. Casa Giuseppe on Valley Brook Avenue. Cool little Italian Restaurant. An old-school Italian vibe and ambiance provided a very comfortable, relaxing dining atmosphere. Pristine and nicely decorated, it appeared to be a neighborhood favorite. The food and friendly and attentive service was exceptional. Thank you to our server, Nelson. After an ample, mouth water Burrata appetizer, served over arugula and fresh tomatoes, I ordered the Zuppa Di Pesce, a fantastic dish loaded with clams, mussels, calamari, scallops, shrimp, all served over linguine. Delicious! Dessert was a Pistachio Tartufo and a cappuccino, of course. Home run meal all around! I should mention that Casa Giuseppe is a BYOB. An unusual feature here is that despite it being a BYOB the restaurant is attached to Bar 503, from where you can order a drink to go with your meal if that is your preference. Bar 503 is a recommended destination in itself. A gorgeous, friendly little bar with a live DJ and karaoke (at least on our visit), and a place we had to stop in and have a Manhattan following our meal. Bartender, Frank, was also a wealth of knowledge and a great guy to talk to. BTW, Doug had the Chef's special, Shrimp & Scallops over Ink squid pasta in a vodka sauce. Magnificent fish! Thank you to Casa Giuseppe and Bar 503 for the gracious hospitality. Certainly a place I would recommend. 01/31/2024

This is the first time eating there and the interior was festive with holiday decorations and they have rooms for private parties. The staff is professional and aims to please as they do have daily specials. Both myself and my father had the Shrimp Ravioli special and the Mozzarella and Prosciutto with cherry tomatoes and the Carrot Cake. We both had coffee and bottled water and Iced Tea. This is a well supported local establishment as the place was fairly full for a Monday evening, but there were many large parties during this holiday season. The food is fine, and because I have never dined here before I probably should have gotten something different. The service was excellent, but the food was a bit underwhelming. I would return, but probably order something from the main menu v being lazy. My understanding is that the place has been open a decade, so they have a strong following. I wish I had ordered something different.

You could tell that this is THE spot for all the OG residents and you can tell that they are loyal to this place. I can see why as I was pleasantly surprised as to the quality of the food. The restaurant is very simple. It doesn't overwhelm you with too many decorations and really helps show how long it has been around. Not saying it dingy but saying that it shows its tenure in Lyndhurst (in a good way) Caesar salad: one order is big enough for two people. Salad is crisp, croutons are perfectly sized and dressing is light. You do not feel extremely thirsty or overwhelmed from the cheese here. 5/5 Calamari: although not crispy like other places (which is the way I like it) it was still very good. The calamari was fresh and not overly battered and it was a very generous portion. If you like your calamari extremely crispy, you will not like this place. If you like your calamari with a little batter, you will love this place: 4/5 Penne vodka: not to toot my own horn but I don't think their vodka sauce is as good as mine.... BUT still one of the better sauces I've had out at a restaurant. Once again, generous portions and fresh. 4/5 Filet mignon and shrimp (ordered medium rare): the filet mignon was extremely soft and tender. It came in an amazing gravy with a side of vegetables doused with a generous portion of garlic. I devoured everything, even the gravy and wished I had more. 5/5 Tiramisu: their tiramisu is on the sweeter side and you don't taste much coffee. If that's the way you like it, you will love it. I liked it regardless because it was on the house.

(But time can be slippery and it took a bit longer than expected for a follow-up visit.) I'm happy to report that first time was not a fluke and this place IS worthy of putting into steady rotation*. (* - if money's not an issue) I'm boring - both visits I went with the (homemade) pasta specials and they were incredible. The Mrs. is equally boring and got the branzino each time. (And loved it both times.) One kid tried the (gulp, $60) steak special and kept raving about it. (Well, he wasn't keen on the zucchini but what teen really digs that veg, right?) The other kid loves bolognese and was happy with their version. A lovely small and warm restaurant. Limited menu with a handful of specials. It's not cheap. (A wee bit over $50 a person and we didn't get appetizers or dessert and only had sparkling water.) BYOB. (Limited) street parking. The host/owner - you won't find a more inviting and personable figure who is clearly proud of what he's created. Is a part of me tempted to dock a few stars because the owner was happy to see one of my kids wearing an AC Milan jersey the day before they were set to clash with my team, AS Roma? Of course! (But that match ended in a 1-1 draw so I'll be nice... this time!)
