Our waiter at dinner was from Colombia and as we were visiting Colombia in a few days it was so nice to hear from a local what foods we should try in Colombia. He was super gracious making sure we never had empty glasses or an empty bread basket. We started with a burrata salad that was fantastic. My pappardelle, I was shocked I was not expecting it to be in the shape of a rose. It practically melted in your mouth. The pasta was so tender. The next morning was Saturday so it was the brunch menu. I had spaghetti carbonara which was rich and out of this world. I asked a girl wiping down a table if there was a place to check in and turned out she was the hostess. We asked to sit outside since the weather was cool and she just said ok that we can go choose a table. My response of, I guess we have to seat ourselves, got her to walk us to a table. There were multiple fire warmer tower's throughout the patio but the one next to us was off so I asked the so called hostess if she can get someone to turn it on and her answer was, she will look into it. After waiting 20 min for a server to greet us, clearly the hostess forgot my request so I asked the server for help. He immediately told us the person that holds the key to the room that has the gas tanks was off duty so he couldn't change the empty tank. I fired back with a problem solver by telling him to change it out with one of the working heaters at the other end of the patio not near anyone. Solved. He followed my suggestion. Table bread came out after the appetizer, and he spilled a bit of the $250 wine onto the menu and my girlfriend's iPhone. When you walk inside, it's filled with warm lighting, booths & tables, tall ceilings, open kitchen concept and a nice open area. We were sat in a beautiful half round booth with plenty of space to seat 4-6 guests easy. Our server was Jason who was very chill, composed, attentive and professional. The Polipo grilled octopus was so dang good with a nice citrus vinaigrette, loved the shaved fennel texture. The Fagotelli short rib filled pasta was rich and smooth, one was enough for me. The shaved truffle was a nice touch. Truffle anything is always a good idea. Branzino could have been better. Did not love the confit pomodoro sauce, didn't compliment the branzino. Wish it had a light citrus sauce instead, the citrus vinaigrette from the grilled octopus dish would have been perfect for the branzino. Fish was also a bit dry, wish it was juicier and not as overcooked. For dessert, we opted for the Panna Cotta and considered the Lemon Pistachio too. Jason brought out the Panna Cotta with a candle and happy birthday chocolate sign. He also brought us the Lemon Pistachio as a complimentary extra dessert since we were eyeing this anyway. Very nice gesture. Funny enough, I really loved the flavors and textures of the Lemon Pistachio more so than the Panna Cotta. The Panna Cotta was too firm and just meh in comparison. All in all, we had a lovely dinner experience and it was a wonderful way to celebrate my birthday. Hubby did good. Loved the ambiance, service was wonderful and food & drinks were fabulous! The food here is reasonably priced, ample indoor and outdoor seating are available (be warned the nearby street is busy), and the service is friendly and quick. We never got a drink refill and had to ask someone else for our check. Friday since we were running late for an event we went back. We've stopped here twice, both times for a nightcap, and the staff (at least the bartenders) have always been welcoming, outgoing and friendly. That's refreshing in Miami where service can often be less than stellar. Casa Gianna features a modern design, has a large dining area with open kitchen, and both booth and table seating, with a large bar where the stools on 3 sides of it are located inside the restaurant, while one full side of the bar is open to the outdoor patio where there are more stools and also tables with umbrellas to shield diners from the elements. Though we've not tried the food here, drinks have been well made by proper mixologists. That said, cocktails cost $18 each on average, so on the pricier end, even for Miami. read more

I came to Casa Gianna for a birthday dinner and we were a large party (20 ppl) so I really kept my expectations fairly low because I know large parties tend to always get the short end of the stick when it comes to service and food quality. And though I am pleased to say that the service was great, kudos to Mary because she did a phenomenal job handling such a large group; the food left a lot to be desired. Just about everyone in my party was disappointed with their food. We all agreed that the food lacked flavor, complexity, and seasoning. I felt like I was eating pasta at Olive Garden and not an upscale restaurant. Additionally, we did not find out until we arrived at the restaurant that there was a $5 per person cake cutting fee, so my friend did not even get to cut her cake because it would have been $100 to do so, which is outrageous, considering how much money we spent on the lackluster food. The restaurant is located inside the hotel. If you are staying at the hotel and you get breakfast included, you only have one item to choose for for free. The only item to choose from them is the platter. Otherwise, you have to pay. When I had the young lady for service as a waitress, she was phenomenal. But I noticed that when I had her, I always got two pieces of pork sausage. When I had one gentleman, a tall male, it only came with one sausage. When I asked him, he got an attitude. He left my water empty for more than 10 minutes. He kept walking past me. The next day when I went to be seated for my breakfast that included with my room. I told the ladies upfront that I did not want that gentleman. The ladies who walk you to your table are very kind. I did speak to the manager in regards to the gentleman who was very rude as a waiter. They must have different chefs on different days because I like my eggs over easy and two out of the four days that I had the platter there was never enough potatoes for my eggs over easy. I have been excited to try this place since its new to the downtown neighborhood. It has a charming patio with a lot of seating, an outdoor bar, and inside seating. We chose outside because of the cool weather. We started off with the meatballs, which were dry. I wish we would've done a salad instead. We also didn't get any bread until we asked for it (I feel like you should just bring it out). Our waiter/bartender was super nice and created a mocktail for me despite none on the menu. I'm always happy to see and eager to try new restaurants, coffeeshops and bars opening in the neighborhood. A few days ago while wandering around the neighborhood, I noticed Casa Gianna had open a take out cafe next door to their restaurant, called Cafe Gianna, and I couldn't resist to try their coffee. It was a warm afternoon so I went for an iced americano. When I got the receipt, I saw an automatic 15% service charge. While I was not ok with it, just paid and moved on. It's now the time to taste the coffee. It tasted like when you have iced coffee and all the ice melts down, that taste of water-down coffee. At this point, I had to say something, frustration was building up. The server didn't offer resistance when I approached her, which I appreciated, and she quickly added another shot of coffee. After rectifying it, it tasted good. Once I fast-forward reviewed what it happened, I noticed they didn't add ice but cold water, so it is technically like all the ice melted down, that's the reason it tasted like water down, or when you have iced coffee and all the ice has melted down. If you are serving an americano with cold water instead of water and ice cubes, you need to use a smaller cup so you add smaller amount of water, or simply do a 3 shots of coffee instead of 2. I'm not sure how they don't know this. I would like to return, but with the couple of things that went wrong with a simple Americano, I'm not so sure, I would. read more

So I went to Casa Gianna this past Friday, July 18, and honestly? I didn't expect to walk out raving about it--but here we are. First of all, shoutout to the waiter, who was an absolute gem. From the moment we sat down, he made us feel welcome, gave great recommendations, and had that rare combo of being attentive without hovering. Major bonus points for that. I ordered a Hugo Spritz for the first time ever, and I was a little unsure if I'd like it (I mean, elderflower? Come on). But he told me, "If you don't like it, I'll switch it for something else--no problem." Like--what?? Service like that is almost extinct these days. Now let's talk about the food: legit delicious. Everything we ordered hit the mark. But the biggest surprise? The pizza. Usually, when a restaurant tries to do it all, the pizza's the first thing to suffer. Not here. The crust was thin and crispy, the ingredients were fresh, and the flavor? Chef's kiss. It didn't taste like it was trying too hard--it was just good. Decided to finally check out Casa Gianna since I always pass by it, and it just looks so cute. Located in the heart of Miami's newest downtown hotspot, the Miami World Center, it offers a modern take on Italian-American cuisine. We arrived at 7:30, and it was only lightly filled. The interior is spacious and super cute, but I will say the staff seemed a bit untrained. We asked to sit in a booth, and they had us standing in the middle of the dining area while they cleaned the table. The food was really good, though nothing blew my mind. We ordered the burrata (delicious), the chicken parm (nice portion, very filling), the cacio e pepe gnocchi (good), and the pasta alla vodka (great). Our server was sweet and helpful, but overall, the entire staff seemed like they could use a little more training to elevate the experience to a 5-star level. For dessert, we tried the cheesecake and tiramisu. I wasn't a huge fan of either, but maybe that's just personal preference. We also ordered drinks, and unfortunately, they mixed up our cocktail. Additionally, the Sauvignon Blanc we ordered definitely tasted like it had been open for 3+ days. However, the server was really nice and happy to switch it out. The patio had multiple fire warmer towers but the one next to my table was not on. I asked the "hostess" if she can get it turned on and she responded that she will look into it. Of course she forgot and after 20 min waiting for a server to greet us, I asked him to handle. He said the guy that has the key to get replacement gas tanks was not on duty so it could not be turned on due to empty gas tank . So I problem solved for him and asked him to swap it with one of the not needed fire warmers on the other side next to the bushes. He did, and problem solved. He spilled some of the $250 wine onto the menu and my woman's iPhone during his pouring attempt and the table bread came out after the appetizer, odd. In summary, food was outstanding so Cudos to the kitchen but service and a carefree attitude of the greeter was disappointing and thankfully I had my pepper spray in case some of the clientele started a brawl. Beautifully decorated with an almost mid-century modern vibe -- high ceiling and the kitchen is on view to the guest. Friendly servers who were quick to accommodate the party -- the outside seating is also nice, for when it's not so hot and humid. The menu is small with a varied selection. I opted for the salmon w an aperol spritz. The salmon was delicious -- cooked perfectly medium. It had a nice crust of pistachios and it was sitting on top of a bed of sweet potato/tumeric/ginger puree with roasted orange glaze carrots -- ughmazzzing -- it also has a lovely and delicate side salad consisting shaved fennel and greens. Tried Casa Gianna this week with some girl friends we had been walking by for months and were so excited to try the food here! First impressions are it's stunning with a beautiful ambiance and decor with a beautiful indoor and outdoor space & bar! We were seated inside for our reservation. We started with some wine which was very good but came warm so we had to wait a bit for it to chill, and 2 apps: fritto misto, and the burrata. The flavours in the burrata were amazing and super fresh. The fritto misto was also very fresh (a little on the salty side but still amazing). For dinner we ordered the Margherita pizza which was a pretty standard pizza and very good, the fagotelli which was filled with short rib and had a wonderful sauce, the risotto was amazing and the star of the show, we also ordered the branzino which was unfortunately underwhelming it was very small and garnished with a lot of sprouts and stuff on top to maybe make it look larger- it was about a bite and a half for each of us (4 girls). The branzino is the only dish I wouldn't recommend. We had the praline terrine (100% recommend if you like chocolate and pralines) and the cheesecake for dessert. In terms of service our server was very pleasant, she seemed a little overwhelmed and didn't attend our table as often as I would have liked but she was very kind and had some great honest recommendations on the menu. I would definitely go back, they need a little bit of refinement on the food and service but I'm sure with a few more weeks open it will improve! read more

Our waitress was friendly and very personable, she gave us great drink suggestions and enhanced the overall experience. Food was delicious, we ordered the salmon dish and Pappardelle alla rosa de ricotta. Both were wonderful, would 100% reorder. Prior to that, we started off with the polpette della casa Gianna- basically meatballs in a red sauce. For drinks, we ordered the Florence Sour and the Tequila Amalfitano. Florence sour was a 8.5/10 and the Amalfitano was a 7.5/10 (still good but a bit bitter). The ambiance of the restaurant was beautiful, dimly lit, and an open space. I'm gluten-free so when the waitress came over, I asked if they had a gluten-free menu. They don't. I asked her if the tuna tartar was gluten-free or if she was aware it was gluten-free typically it is at most places. So the chef or somebody came over and spoke with me. I asked if the tuna tartar was gluten-free they indicated yes I was like fantastic. I'll have that and then when they served it, they put two thin crispy white bread baguettes on top of the tuna tart. Hopefully no crumbs came off of that because I did just remove it and ate it anyways it just seemed wasteful and then there was the possibility of cross contamination. The tuna tartare itself was absolutely amazing presented differently than anyway I had ever seen that dish previously had a lot of intricate flavors. A sweet lemony flavor was one of them wasn't very large. You don't get much for the price. Actually, it's probably the smallest in the Tartar I've ever ordered. Casa Gianna is a beautiful Restaurant. For those staying in the attached hotel, it might be the best of both worlds. I noticed the large outdoor seating area and decided this would be my spot for the evening. I had to go into The restaurant to check in with the hostess and was promptly. I arrived after 4-430pm and it was not busy. I ordered a Hugo spritz, the salmon crudo and cesar salad to start. I enjoyed my drink as my food was prepared. The loud sound of the construction did ruin the vibes though. The salmon Crudo was delicious, fresh and tender. The Caesar salad had come of the best croutons After finishing the appetizers, I ordered another Hugo. My waitress was very attentive and full of personality. I ordered the spicy rigatoni and this is where the rating fell. It took a long time for it to come out even though I ordered everything at the same time. I did not really care too much about the wait since I met some ladies there and we were enjoying our drinks and conversations. When the pasta came out it was very undercooked. I know Al dente and this was not it. I let my pasta sit a while hoping it would cook a bit more in the sauce. After another bite I gave up. When the waitress came to check on me, let her j ie my pasta was not cooked. She immediately said she would get another spicy rigatoni made immediately. When the second plate arrived it was a bit more tender but, at that point I realized this must not be authentic Italian food. Overall the drinks were 10/10. The salad a solid 8,5/10. The Crudo 10/10 The spicy rigatoni 4/10 In my opinion the price was good. I would define return for drinks. read more

Delicious food and great service. Got the spicy rigatoni with shrimp on the side. Shrimp had great flavor. Drinks are yummy and strong. Recommend doing Miami spice while still available read more

Service sucks here so bad that I wasn't even able to order. Not sure if they need more waitstaff but if you aren't busy you should b able to accommodate seating read more
