Had the best time at Casa Fiesta today! We travelled from NW Michigan to view the eclipse and happened upon this gem. We stopped by for some lunch before but decided to stay there and watch from their big nice patio. Although they did not have service on the patio while we were there the staff took extraordinary care of us and were wonderfully accommodating. They have a lunch buffet with a great variety of items. We got a variety of menu items as well as the buffet and we all enjoyed our food. The huge draft beers were a bonus and made our eclipse viewing into our own little party. This place has always been fun to visit, especially with a group. But the food isn't really that great. Although I am aware that most locals adore it, I assure you that there are far better places to find Mexican food. We have been visiting Casa Fiesta recently as take out, and their outdoor seating area as COVID restrictions have been put in place and lifted. The story has mostly been the same. Food is solid. It's not the most amazing food in the world, but it's decent Mexican food at solid prices. My wife and I can have a good meal and leave a 25% tip under $30. Great! That being said, your service is a roll of the dice. Before we had our particular waitress, half the time I ordered my food would come out wrong. Not as in I asked for salsa on my food and it came on the side, but asking for no chicken, and no sour cream, and getting chicken and sour cream made in the food. So why do we go back? Well, we aren't smart people and like how close it is. The place has their own lot, and it's easy to get to. One day we had Jessica. This young lady actually listens, pays attention, and makes sure our order is right. Last time we went she wasn't working the patio, and service was back to normal. We won't be dining in unless she is available, and we have given up on take out. Regardless if you go in and clearly explain, definitely check your food before you leave. The first time it was wrong take out, I had driven home and found out. The second time it was wrong, I knew to check before I left. There hasn't been and won't be a third try at take out. *And watch out for the patio. They haven't been clearing out the bee hives building up on the pergola. read more

My son wanted Mexican and this was the option so we went here. This place seems huge and walking in they definitely have embraced the whole "create an ambiance" assignment. Lots to look at, lots of colors. The staff seemed quite busy despite us going kind of late in the dining hours. What a fun and unexpected place to eat authentic Mexican food off the middle of the highway in the middle of nowhere Ohio. Amongst the road with motels, Dunkin' Donuts and random truck stops, Casa Fiesta is a gem not hidden in disguise. The restaurant has a fun exterior and even more colorful interior. With decorations and furniture that reminded me of my spring break in Cancun, the giant 32oz $10 strawberry daiquiri topped off this experience. In the center of the restaurant was a bar and "football" being projected as my boyfriend so enthusiastically pointed out. Everyday there is a special in which clients can get $2 off some dish. We got the combination plates. The tostada was a little disappointing because the tortilla was so thin it just melted apart. I highly recommend the enchiladas. The mole sauce was so rich. The rice and beans were super yummy. One of the best Mexican rices I've ever had! Disappointing for me. Stopped in here with family to get something to eat after a long day driving and enjoying the museum. I have a high expectation for all mexican restaurants, but I do not expect all of them to be good. I ordered something that I considered easy and quick, tortilla soup. Mind you the bowl was extremely large but what was in it did not look like tortilla soup. I even asked the waitress if this was tortilla soup and was told yes. What I saw was chicken soup with very little chicken and some tortillas (very little), they even gave me crackers. At the time I could not figure out what was missing. Well as I couldn't eat it all I decide to take it with to maybe eat later. Well here I am at home and as I removed the soup from the bag I noticed they gave me an added ingredient that appeared to be salsa and more crackers. So, I checked my recipe and then I was clear... there was no color to the soup. There in the soup there was no avocados, which means there was no seasoning that would normally get placed in the soup. Excellent little spot! We stopped in here after a thrilling day at cedar point and needed a good bite to eat! This Mexican Feista is not like a typical EL Nopal! Tortillas tasted fresh and soft, could cut them with a fork! Refried beans tasted original and full of flavor, not bland and generic like most places. Salsa was chunky and bursting with freshness! Terrible food and worse customer service. For 30.00 you would think you would get enough salsa for two dinners. When I paid, I was told each meal came with chips and salsa. When she handed me the bag, only one anemic portion. I told her that I was delivering one to a neighbor and needed two. I was told I only get two if I pay separately. Not what I was told when I paid. I was told take out and eating in are two different things. I told her I paid the same price for take out and expected at least enough salsa for two. She did not care at the least. Casa Fiesta has been a favorite of ours since we moved to the area. We moved from Northwest Arkansas where we were spoiled with excellent Mexican food, and Casa Fiesta in Norwalk is always great! It is now our go-to Mexican restaurant whenever we are craving margaritas and fajitas. The food is always delicious and portions are huge. The margaritas are awesome and they do not skimp on the alcohol. We take family here all the time whenever they come to visit us. The chips where not that great and the salsa was even less impressive. The bar was stocked like it was going out of business. I think they had like 8 bottles of alcohol displayed on the bar. Odd. Not sure why this place hasn't received great reviews because we had a fantastic experience. We went on a Saturday night around 8 o'clock. When we pulled up the the building there were colored lights and big palm trees. We walked in and were seated promptly. The inside is very bright and it has a great atmosphere. We quickly received chips and drinks. The wait staff seemed alike they were in a rush but they weren't rude. We ordered and the food came quickly. It was hot and seemed fresh. I got the fajita quesadilla which was great. Lots of veggies and even more chicken! There was a small portion of rice and beans, but the burrito was so big I wasn't wishing for more. The margaritas are good but the food is not The chips and salsa are terrible. I also got charged extra for my nachos because I got grilled chicken. The other option was shredded but it did not say that it was more on the menu nor did the waitress tell me that when she asked which way I wanted it. It just said chicken $5.99 but I got charged $9.99. I also got charged $1.75 for a little cup of sour cream and I thought it came with it. So, overpriced not very good food. A disappointing dinner experience. I love Mexican restaurants and was excited to go here after a hot day at Cedar Point. Unfortunately, our waiter was inattentive and we had to wait a long time to place our order. The guacamole was inedible. I've never had such flavorless, bland, and water downed guacamole before! The margaritas tasted good but were mostly just mix with little to no alcohol. The best thing I ordered was the fajitas. They were served with a pineapple slice which I really liked. However, the rice and beans that came on the side were cold and also bland. When our food was brought to us the server dropped sour cream and lettuce on the table and the floor and didn't even bother to clean it up. I would not go back to this place. OK, so this place used to be halfway decent. However, the quality has gone down while the prices have gone WAY up. Group of 5 (2 kids) with 3 drinks and are bill was $72. I am sorry, but I would have spent less at better restaurants. Costa Azul in Huron is better, but El Rancho in Fremont is still the best. read more

visiting for a race over the weekend and this place was right across the street from our hotel. it looks ridiculous from the street due to its neon palm trees, but the food is a different story. I have lived in southern california my entire life, and there are plenty of mexican places, but the food here was EXCEPTIONAL. probably one of the best mexican dishes of my life and also very authentic.
