The service was terrible. We weren't given any napkins or utensils. No water was offered. Our drinks took 2 or 3 times longer than anywhere else. Fruit flies were chasing around my margarita. We got stranded without anyone giving us a check. They came back twice and told us they were out of what we ordered. Empty drinks were the norm. Service was friendly & prompt! I had them do a cucumber marg as a mocktail and it was so tasty! Be sure to specify the rim you want as I didn't care for the smoky paprika rim concoction they tried. Last day in Sandusky decided get some tacos for last hurrah. OH Taco was spot passed by literally everyday cause right in pier area of the race and next to bnb. It small restaurant but there cool artwork when walk in and overall definitely Mexican interior vibe. Also have patio area that see all action or people watch walking along the pier. I got the pastor rice bowl and cup of the chicken tortilla soup. Both were good. The chicken tortilla soup was no doubt hearty. Not lot of broth once got pass couple spoons. I like hearty filling soup. The rice bowl was nice portion and pastor was cooked on point. It had lot of other stuff on top and overall the dish was good. Five stars comes to service! This is not the best taco joint in which I've ever eaten. In fact, it may not even be the best taco joint in downtown Sandusky. BUT... This place is cool, fun, has a great drink selection, has great atmosphere and has great views of Sandusky bay. AND... The food and service are pretty good too. I, personally, would skip the carne asada taco, but EVERY other taco was, yeah, you guessed it, pretty good. If I gave OH Taco less than 5 stars, my kids would disown me. read more

I came across this place while browsing yelp for some food. My boyfriend and I were looking for a place to grab something to eat after a long day at Cedar Point and the options were scarce to say the least. This place was SUCH A GEM. Plenty of places to sit and rest my legs after a long day. Overall the place just had a nice ambiance all around. I'm from California and I'm spoiled with the Mexican food there but OH Taco exceeded my expectations and exceeds many other "authentic Mexican" spots. It's been months since I visited and I still think about this place. The staff were so kind and the food portions were huge! Cheap margaritas! Amazing. Only downside was that they charged for salsas and they were not very good salsas. I still had a great experience and I will be coming back for more nachos :) read more

Thank you so much for being open on Thanksgiving. We decided to spend the holiday at a local water park and needed to get away for some food. We came into town and saw this cute , fun place was open. They had beer specials and we were able to get a great meal for a decent price. The service was amazing and the food was delicious. It is somewhat confusing, is it a hotel, is it a bar, so they have food - the answers are yes! We loved the way the place was laid out and they had a ton of liquor to choose from. After eating I was just disappointed that it seemed like the food took forever to arrive and had no salt in it whatsoever. I had chicken gringo tacos and they had a strange off putting taste so I didn't finish them. Considering it's a taco restaurant I was shocked by how expensive it was, but the real trouble came at 2 am when the food poisoning had me glued to the porcelain bowl the rest of the night. We were on a bar crawl in Sandusky this was one of the bars on the route. The bartenders were super friendly and with it being crazy busy on a Saturday night we got our drinks and food pretty quick. I ordered some nachos with pico the pico was really good. Another person at our table ordered the queso chips the queso was really good as well. After while we decided to grab some tacos. I tried the carnitas, would recommend. So, so good and they come with coleslaw on top. The price point isn't bad and they have tons of tables as well as bar seating. The staff is great! The food was mid and not too impressive which is why it's 3/5 stars. The women's bathroom had an odd smell but was decently clean. The steak in the quesadilla was good but the quesadilla itself lacked any flavor besides cheese and the steak. They have some great drinks to go with these fresh tacos. I was out taking a stroll and just came in. It's located in the one building. You go through the lobby to get there. It has a few daily specials. Of course there's Taco Tuesday. I'm required to have a drink with Mexican food. They have a range of cheaper to more expensive stuff. I had a tequila and mango. The taco menu is simple. I got the Poblano Y Portobello. It's $4, which is kind of much for a small one like this. There wasn't that much toppings. It's $8 for a tostada, which is bigger. This is on a full tortilla. I would like to try more of the other items. Maybe they're even better than the signature tacos. They certainly may get you more of a value. read more

Tacos are something that's near and dear to my heart as I've grown up with many taqueria's that I would frequent on a weekly basis because Mexican food is life when your from Orange County. Coming here I was like they have a Taco Tuesday that's what's up as it's like not a thing in Ohio mostly because it seems people don't know about it or something but that's not the case here as they are turning out $1 tacos on Tuesday with the choice of either chicken or ground beef to make it all good! Of the taco Tuesday tacos I went with ground beef and the chicken ones just to see what was better the ground beef one not so much as I didn't really dig the flavor of it the chicken one however was much better and more like a taco I would be into and it's also the reason we came back for another week of tacos because it just kinda reminds me of home in a way. The margaritas here are decent they are a bit pricey for what you can find for taco Tuesday but if you wanna have a drink then I'm sure it won't stop you! The other tacos we ordered was the 3 taco combo that came with a carne asada, pollo, & carnitas of these i again enjoyed the chicken one as it was just the better of all of them the carnitas was kinda blah and just boring the asada one was like a slab of meat which I haven't seen done before so I was like okay but hey it's Ohio and they aren't doing that bad of a job for it. The chips and salsa were decent the pico salsa was not spicy at all being it was mostly tomatoes the chips were good when they came together with the salsa either way it was kinda whack we had to order this as I really don't think I've ever been to a Mexican restaurant where they just don't give it to you! They have a check-in offer so don't forget to check-in so you can get a free goodie! Overall decent tacos for Ohio would this place last in Cali I'm definitely going to say no it wouldn't as them being here in the upper part of middle America is basically why I'm saying what I have said! Yesterday I went to OH Taco and I have a few issues about it. I had asked for the smoothest salsa with our chips and it was the chunkiest Salsa I have ever seen.My taco meat was good but the shell was bad and it was very below what I expected. One thing that was very good was the guacamole it tasted so good. I got churros for dessert and they were not coated with enough cinnamon sugar so all I could taste was the dough. Visiting Ohio from Miami, we had low expectations for a good Mexican brunch. We were surprisingly very wrong. $2 mimosas on Sunday with a huge variety of flavors. The grapefruit was my favorite and the glasses were super cute. I got the avocado toast with chipotle sauce which was very good but SUPER spicy. I love spicy and thought it was pretty hot. In a half-full restaurant, with four servers/bartenders, it should never have taken that long. Didn't bring waters for the table when asked multiple times, refills never, food came in shifts and the kitchen ran out of rice. My boyfriend and I stopped in to OH Taco on Sunday, during the Festival of Sail right across the street. The Festival caused it to be pretty busy and difficult to find tables, but there is a decent amount of space to accommodate guests on an average day. In addition to the busyness, our server, Veronica, informed us that she was the only server for the entire restaurant, as the other servers called off. That being said, I was wildly impressed with Veronica and her quick and kind service, given the circumstances. She had a very good attitude and still ensured that guests had the best experience. I ordered a paloma, which was a large portion and justified the price. The drink was delicious and perfect for a warm day. For my meal, I ordered the pollo mezcal tostada and loved it. The apricot mole tasted sweet and had notes of cinnamon and was the highlight of the dish. The rest of the meal complimented the sauce. The side salad was a generous helping and the buttermilk dressing was zesty and delicious. My partner got two tacos and wasn't as impressed. That being said, I loved OH Taco and thought my tostada was one of my favorite mexican dishes I've had. While our server made the best of the situation, it did impact our service level a little bit. If they were appropriately staffed, I would give them a 5 star. read more

From start to finish, we probably invested over 1.5 hour there. Server was very friendly, but she needed help. The food is not very good. Definitely stay away from the carne asada and mahi-mahi. Taco shells need prepped better as they crumbled apart with the first bite. Half price margaritas on Monday must only have half the tequila. It is too bad as the location is great. read more

We came in here for lunch before going to cedar point for the night. The server was a really sweet girl but about 20 minutes into us being there they had a man come in to test the buildings fire alarms. At this point we had already ordered our food and were waiting on it. We were the only people in the entire place but there was five of us and instead of waiting to do the inspection they had us sit through a total of 40 fire alarms (which i know is an insane number but that's how many the bartender told us there would be). On top of the blaring fire alarm the very underwhelming food took far too long and was not worth the money. This is the most americanized mexican food you can get and completely bland. Not a single one of us even finished our food and quickly cashed out so we wouldn't have to hear the fire alarms and we all assumed that they would at least comp one of our drinks or take a percentage off of the bill for forcing us to sit through that. I have been a server for 8 years and i would have never allowed my customers to have that same experience. I advise people to not go here it's not worth the time or the money.
