Unfortunately, I can't give this restaurant 0 stars because that's what it truly deserves. We were a party of 10, and our experience was terrible from beginning to end. Our server was Cristina C., and the manager was Evelyn. Three of the meals were unacceptable. One of the steaks was ordered medium well, but it came out literally raw. On top of that, there was water dripping from the ceiling due to condensation. The water was falling into our drinking glasses and onto our food, which is completely unacceptable. We reported both the food and the leaking ceiling to the manager. By that point, we had already paid--we weren't asking for a refund or free food. We simply wanted to make management aware of the serious issues we experienced. Instead of listening, Evelyn was rude, dismissive, and acted as if she already knew about the leak. She didn't apologize once. If they were aware of the problem, why would they seat customers at that table in the first place? She also ignored our concerns about the food. At the end of the conversation, she simply said that the steaks had been cooked the way we ordered them and that "overall the food was very good." I responded, "What part didn't you understand? The food was not good." She turned around, walked away mumbling, and completely dismissed us while we were still trying to speak with her. The lack of professionalism, customer service, and basic courtesy was shocking. We left feeling ignored and disrespected. This was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

To start off this place has such cute decor, they recently remodeled it. Restaurant feels like you are in the jungle or Tulum MX. It's clean and the staff is so friendly especially Charlene, she a doll so sweet and attentive. I had the carne en su jugo which is so tasty, it's as if a family member made it. The breakfast burrito is so hearty and packed with meat, a must try item on the menu. Then there's the pozole which is full of flavor, add all extra condiments and don't forget the oregano. As for their coffee & drink bar, their Michelada does not disappoint. The matcha with banana syrup and cold foam is delicious. Their coffee is strong and taste like it made with grade A beans. For dessert you've got to try their Riccota French toast its different bc its crispy, sweet and savory. P.s. PLENTY OF PARKING. (I would love bigger spoons for the soups but that's just a personal preference) If you are in the downey area this place is it!

    Breakfast sizzle with chorizo

Came back here to have brunch with a friend and I know I should have gotten something new that I haven't tried from the menu but I still wanted their breakfast sizzle with the chorizo. At the same time, I wanted to see if they still had the same crunch like how it was the first time we were here and I gotta say, it still did. I got their cookie butter latte as well which actually tasted like cookie butter, unlike when you go to other places where you can't taste the flavor. We were seated outside since we had 2 strollers but were covered by the umbrella so wasn't too hot around 10:30-ish when we went. Our server also checked on us a couple of times to make sure we were okay and that everything tasted good!

The service is great as we were seated ready right away without having to make a reservation even though it was Saturday afternoon. Our server kept refilling our water which was good because it was a hot day, and for that reason we asked to be seated indoors. The inside is quite nice, charming giving the vacation vibe because they were showing sceneries of waterfalls, ancient pyramid ruins from Mexico, and beach resorts on the TV monitors. As for the food, I ordered chilaquiles with green sauce with the regular toppings including scrambled eggs- it was delicious and what I expected. However, my husband tried the chilaquiles swisas with chicken and it tasted a little dry. But both needed more cheese in my opinion. Later on a different server brought two side dishes with beans but I didn't enjoy them because it seemed it made with some sauce so I mostly saw sauce rather than beans. Maybe it's a different style of beans not sure. The only minor thing that was uncomfortable is that indoors the tables are really close together so you can hear conversations from table next to you or look over to see what people are eating. I would come here again for brunch but probably sit outside.

Very disappointing experience. Our group of 10 was seated under an A/C vent that continuously dripped condensation onto our table and into our food. No one warned us about the issue or offered to move us. One of our steaks was served nearly raw. When we asked to speak with the manager, Evelin, she was rude, dismissive, and offered nothing but excuses. She blamed the A/C units for the leaking and then told us there was nothing she could do because we had already paid our bill and that it was our fault for not mentioning the steak sooner. Not once did she apologize for the leaking over our food or the undercooked meal. Our server, Cristina K., also had a poor attitude and made it clear through her facial expressions and demeanor that our group was an inconvenience. Between the food safety concerns, poor service, and lack of accountability from management, this was one of the worst dining experiences I've had.

    Mexican Burrito and Chilaquiles

Came here today with a friend, I got the Mexican burrito and she got the chilaquiles. My burrito was absolutely delicious, and she thought the chilaquiles were pretty good too. Food came out super fast, but the server was just okay. She never checked back on us and didn't clear our plates when we were done.

Came on a Sunday and there was a wait, but it wasn't too bad, about 30 minutes. They do take reservations, which I definitely should've made. I checked Yelp photos ahead of time to decide what to order and went with the French toast where you can choose your flavor. I picked the "Nut Gone Tella" (warm Nutella, fresh strawberries, banana slices, caramel drizzle, powdered sugar). I don't actually like Nutella, so I ordered it without that. When it came out, it looked so good. But once I started cutting into it, super disappointing. The toast was really soggy, like overly soaked to the point where only the edges had any firmness. That's just not my kind of French toast. I let our server know, and she was great about it. She offered to switch it out for pancakes, which I did, and those were much better. One thing I really appreciated: the menu notes that they use avocado oil. As someone who tries to avoid seed oils (and deals with gut issues), that's a big plus, especially being a foodie. This place can be a little tricky to find. It's across from the movie theater, so keep an eye out.

Great service. I recommend reserving a table ahead of time because the wait times can get pretty long.

First visit here. Great food! Nice environment and very good service thank you so much Nancy. Everything came out on time and all request on order were met Will be back. Ask for Nancy !

Came early on a Monday morning to celebrate our college grad. Customer service was overall great. For a Monday it wasn't too busy but some of our food was late to come out. The food overall was good, I also had the vanilla iced coffee which was delicious. I would be open to trying this place again in the future.

The environment super cute , staff amazing and on top of it! Unfortunately, my brother and I were disappointed in the food. Considering the prices of it as well. We were expecting something flavorful delicious, amazing. I would have rather ate at a little mom and pop. My brother got the enchiladas suizas , the sauce tasted straight of a can, the beans had no flavor , and the rice was hard. I got the the carne en su jugo and again no flavor I added salt and the only thing that made it yummy was their spicy red sauce. We got truffle fries as an appetizer again no salt no flavor and the fries were still kind of crudos.

    wait on fork

I came in today with my girlfriend and i ordered the big breakfast plate bacon was over cooked like biting wood plank the sausage was over cooked you can tell it was over cooked with all the wrinkles because it was deep fried not grilled the potatoes were alright the eggs i asked for were over medium i got over easy i asked for a pancake and they did not bring me utensils been waiting for like 10mins for them to bring some i do not recommend you to spend your money here sorry but horrible food p.s 8 only do reviews of the places that over exceed taste of food or if they are horrible this place was horrible still waiting for a fork all just eat it with a spoon i have

They don't cheap out on drinks or food, and the quality is consistently great. Portions are generous, and you get far more sides and extras here than at most Mexican restaurants in the area. The staff of ladies who work here are phenomenal--warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. There is only one older gentleman I've seen be rude to customers, but aside from that single exception, the service is excellent across the board. I judge Mexican restaurants heavily based on how they make a Cadillac margarita, and this place absolutely delivers. Everything that comes out of the kitchen is perfectly cooked, plentiful, and clearly made with care. For me, this restaurant is a solid five out of five. It's one of those spots that deserves far more credit than it gets. If you're looking for quality, authenticity, and great value, it's worth a visit.

Service is attentive, the food has its charm with in-house made tortillas. It really was a hard review to write because all the elements of a great restaurant is embodied in this hidden gem. I chalk it up to ordering the wrong items. The flavors did not pop for me. Hubby opted for the chorizo and he said it was decent and he described it as "diet chorizo"--that he'd probably needed to go back to Sinaloa to capture the true essence of "real" chorizo, the way it's meant to be. The star of his meal was the in-house made flour tortillas-now that's authentic! This is/was the reason that it leaned towards a 4 star. These looked and tasted phenomenal. The aroma took me back to the times when we visited Rosarito's Puerto Nuevo, as the lady made the tortillas by hand & pressed them in the comal, ahh, good times. I ordered the vegetarian omelette with beans & potatoes. The omelette was decent with fresh bell peppers & onions but the seasoning was so mild that I requested for salt & pepper. The potatoes appeared well seasoned in color but lacked that oomph that salt & pepper couldn't fix. My apple pancakes were average. While I appreciated the strawberry compote, there was no apple or apple taste in them. To wash everything down, I had cafe de olla, that was good. The aroma of the brown sugar & cinnamon was ever present. Estrella, our server was very welcoming, attentive and friendly, she gets 5 stars for her service with a smile & hospitality. Their lunch & dinner menu looked very appealing but we wanted breakfast items. We wish we were both molé enthusiasts then perhaps we would've better appreciated & enjoyed those offerings. Both indoor & outdoor seating (front & rear), parking is free & shared with their liquor store at this corner small plaza. Beware, no restrooms available. I'm glad we gave this little shop a try.
