Pistachio soft serve with biscoff cookie bits
    Lauren S.

This place was a childhood staple for me. My pops would take us here after special events and occasions. Even though it is a chain, this location never feels like it. There are so many awesome treats here and they are famous for their crunchies in the ice cream cakes. These are my absolute favorite cakes! We used to visit here so much and when I was younger, one of the employees was a friend. He unfortunately passed away in a car accident but ever time I visit here, I think of him. My recent visit was the first time I visited in years since I no longer live in the area. I need to get Carvel more often when I visit home! I love the way this store smells-like a typical ice cream store. They carry cakes, novelty treats, hard ice cream, soft serve, and milkshakes. My favorite hard ice creams are the chocolate chip, mint chip, and pistachio. They have pistachio on soft serve, which I ordered this recent visit. On Wednesdays, there are BOGO sundaes and you receive toppings (1 or 2, I cannot remember) as well. I put biscoff cookie crumbles on and it was surprisingly very tasty together. The pricing on everything is reasonable. The store has always been clean and the staff were always pleasant. There is a bench outside that you can sit on to enjoy your treats as well.

Best ice cream place. very clean place. They have every flavors. Costumer service is good. Nice place to bring my nephews.

    Worst carvel owner ever

Just went in before for my pregnant at home wife's cravings and the old lady behind the counter took 5-7 minutes to come out from the back as she was in the middle of a delivery. I quickly said I know you got a delivery but can I get a medium soft serve and large twist Sundae. Before I could tell her toppings she closed the lids and I said I would like toppings. She angrily said you should of told me before I filled the cups!!!! I responded hey it's not fault you got a delivery and if you want I can leave. She then proceeded to get the toppings and when paying reiterated I should tell her I want toppings before hand. How many people order soft serve with no toppings it's common sense to ask the "customer" right or wrong?

Came here tonight to take my client out for some ice cream. He was very excited to go for the cookie dough icecream and I was even more happy just because he was happy. Before I state the negatives, the positives were the fact that they have a lot of flavors, the store is clean and they have seating. Also on Wednesday its buy one get one free! The cons: UNFORTUNATELY the experience wasn't that great. We walked in and a young man was taking orders. He seemed pleasant but it started to get busy so a lady from the back popped around to help move the line. I honestly just wish she stayed in the back. She was soooooo RUDE. A fellow Yelper stated that they encountered a rude lady and I believe this was the same one. Everyone gets excited about getting icecream and she ruined the experience. I won't return. I'd rather take my clients to cold stone or just travel somewhere else for a more pleasant experience!

It's relaxed and easy-going, ideal for grabbing a coffee while you're out and about. Food: Their baked goods are the real star here--freshly baked onsite with a professional touch. The flavors are unique, making it a fun stop for something different. While the selection is on the smaller side, each item seems thoughtfully crafted. A few more savory options would be a welcome addition, though! Service: The service is quick and efficient. There's usually just one person behind the counter, but they handle things smoothly and get your order ready in no time. No long waits, which is great for a quick bite. Suggestions: A couple of high chairs would be a nice touch for families with little ones! Also, a few more savory items on the menu would be fantastic to round out the offerings. Overall: Overall, Somedays is a solid go-to for a quick coffee and pastry. It's a pleasant, no-fuss spot with delicious treats, and I'm excited to see what they add next. I was surprised at the weight of the pastry. it was FILLED with the tahini paste. It was a little too sweet for me, but i enjoyed the croissant (super flaky). the pricing is on the higher end of pastries, but the assortment is done well and as described. for reference, a plain croissant there is $5 (same $ as radio bakery) whereas one from Costco is $1. for me, this was a one time try, but it was good to try the excitement for me post hype.

Over the years, as many of those bakers retired, the number of quality bakeries slowly dwindled. One by one, many of the old favorites disappeared. So when Aphrodite's opened, I was eager--and a bit skeptical--to see if it would be worth the trip. Then I tried their mini cheese empanadas, and that settled it. These little sweet treats are unbelievably addictive. I've brought them to gatherings and shared them with friends and family, and without fail they disappear almost instantly. I honestly can't think of another baked item I've purchased that has been so universally loved. Since then, I've started exploring more of their pastries and baked goods, and each visit has been a pleasant surprise. One item seems better than the next. No, the prices are not cheap--but the quality absolutely justifies it. In this case, you really do get what you pay for. If you stop in, do yourself a favor and try the mini cheese empanadas--you'll understand why they've become my go-to order.

I am a fan of the pandan flavor desserts and bought two that I wanted to try. One being a roll cake and the other layer cake. The pandan roll cake with taro I was told is a specialty that they only have on weekends. It was really flavorful, moist and spongy, just perfectly touched with a dash of sweetness in both the cake and the cream - I personally don't like overly sweet foods, and this is just perfect for me and my mom. I'm equally pleased with the layer cake as well it was very fresh and have that "QQ" texture - deliciously chewy and bouncy. This too, just hit right for me on the gentle sweetness, the pandan flavor keeping the spotlight in this dessert. My mom and I are big fans of these desserts. We just came back trying out others pandan layer cakes in Downtown Flushing and this shop beats them by a large margin. I hope to come back more when we could even though this shop is quite a distance for us.

The lady who I assume is the boss said she had held a pop-up shop about two years prior which blew up, hence what we see here. The selection here was deceptively small compared to chain bakeries, but it didn't take us long recognise how much power the smaller selection packs and, actually, how the selection really is not small at all. The matcha red bean loaf grabbed my attention straight away and didn't disappoint, but their red bean bun was just as impressive, as it's a more bread-y counterpart to the fluffy versions other bakeries typically have. The onioissant is definitely experimental and worked better on the chive bacon cream cheese one than on the pollack roe, which was a bit too much on the salty and fishy side for my liking. Their chocolate horn is at least twice as big as a typical one you'll find at other bakeries and has a rich dark chocolate filling which was a pleasant surprise. Their coffee brioche pastry was another hit, thanks to the strong coffee filling and delicate layers of pastry. There's ample tables and chairs, beverage menu, and I'm sure we'd come hang if we lived closer. I can't wait to go back.
