I have been coming here for years since I live close by but the issue I have always had is their service. It looks like the people that work there are always so miserable. This Carvel location is an absolute disgrace and is clearly taking advantage of the community. I ordered my usual sundae dasher, which is supposed to be "layers of soft or scooped ice cream" as stated right on the menu. I tried to get a picture but my Phone malfunctioned, however you can see it on any carvel menu including here. I always choose scooped ice cream, but this time they tried to charge me extra for it! When I pointed this out, the woman behind the counter tried to insult my intelligence by saying I just never noticed how much I paid before. Terrible customer service and a bad attitude coming from a 40 something year old woman working in an ice cream shop, hate to say it ! Fed up, I changed my order to a regular sundae, which includes one topping, whipped cream, and a cherry. What did I get? Only one topping, and I had to ask them to add the whipped cream and cherry AFTER I paid, because they weren't going to include it, even though it's part of the order! This I was able to get a photo of. For $8, this is absolutely ridiculous. I could easily get three gallons of ice cream at Stop & Shop for that price. There are so many awesome treats here and they are famous for their crunchies in the ice cream cakes. These are my absolute favorite cakes! We used to visit here so much and when I was younger, one of the employees was a friend. He unfortunately passed away in a car accident but ever time I visit here, I think of him. I love the way this store smells-like a typical ice cream store. They carry cakes, novelty treats, hard ice cream, soft serve, and milkshakes. My favorite hard ice creams are the chocolate chip, mint chip, and pistachio. They have pistachio on soft serve, which I ordered this recent visit. On Wednesdays, there are BOGO sundaes and you receive toppings (1 or 2, I cannot remember) as well. I put biscoff cookie crumbles on and it was surprisingly very tasty together. Just ordered 2 chocolate milk shakes for $12 that weren't make correctly. The clerk simply mixed milk and ice cream and served them sloppily with milk and ice cream splatted all over the outside of the cup. When I asked why she didn't add chocolate syrup she told me that it's a milk shake and you don't use syrup and that I was wrong. Ultimately they refused to fix their mistake and got rude. What they should have done was make two new shakes instead of arguing with me. Suggestion to store owner; 1) train your employees on how to PROPERLY prepare and serve the items you sell (saw this same clerk botch up a cone), 2) keep the standard recipes and instructions posted where they can be seen (take a trip to any McDonald's and look behind the counter) 3) train your employees how to deal with customer discrepancies and 4) have your employees clean the store often throughout the day.
