Customer service at this location was extremely disappointing. When I arrived, both employees were occupied near the freezers, so I waited patiently until they were available to take my order. Once they were ready, I politely asked for a strawberry shortcake ice cream. Instead of responding professionally, one of the employees turned to me and, in a noticeably rude and condescending tone, asked if I spoke Spanish. When I said yes, he instructed me--again in a dismissive manner--to repeat my order in Spanish to the other worker. I calmly explained that "strawberry shortcake sundae" is essentially the same in both languages, but I still repeated the order in Spanish to accommodate them. After this unnecessary interaction, I was then informed that they did not have vanilla ice cream available, which made the entire exchange even more frustrating and pointless. I ultimately decided to leave without ordering. The employee's attitude was unprofessional and unnecessarily disrespectful. Overall, the experience left a very negative impression. read more

This location closes at 10:30pm yet we walked in around 9:45pm and they refused to serve soft serve ice cream. They said they turn the machine off at 10pm since they close at 10:30pm. That is truly unacceptable as the main reason people go to carvel is for the soft serve. I will not be returning. read more

There was nothing more amazing than a Carvel ice cream cake on your birthday. My most recent visit just validated my childhood. Same great taste, same friendly service, same familiar smell! lol I havent walked into a Carvel in years so be kind. They even sell the crunchies (best part of the cake) separately. I dont know how long they've been offering this, but Im excited. Ordered a classic cookie dough icecream scoop on a sugar cone...done deal. Creamy, yummy, satisifed. Bleh. I didn't like this Carvel AT ALL. At first look, they've got a pretty good deal going on on wednesdays, it's buy one Sunday and get a free soft serve. When I first walked in, I took a look at all the ice creams. The ice creams looked way too artificial, too much food coloring. They just didn't look appetizing at all... I'm a sucker for mint chocolate chip and cookies and cream so I decided to sample their new "mint Oreo". It was similar to the mint Oreo cookie itself, I'll give Carvel that. But still... There's a completely artificial flavoring in it. As if the ice cream wasn't ice cream. I decided to stay safe and ordered a junior soft serve. Now I know that the size of the cone you want is measured by the number of ice cream swirls in the cone. I've worked in food business multiple times and there's also photos beside each size they had to show you. The guy who made my ice cream DIDNT EVEN MAKE IT LOOK LIKE AN ICE CREAM CONE. it was just a big ball of sloppiness. It wasn't even as big as what the photo looked like. He literally just swirled a glob onto my come and it was spilling out the sides. I had to quickly lick up the sides before it melted onto my hand. Also, as I drew nearer to the end of my cone, I began to see particles. Like tiny dots of ice in the ice cream. Bleh. I'll stick with Dairy Queen and Baskin robins. read more

I'm a frequent customer at this Carvel. The people who work here are very nice. There is one problem I have that I feel needs to be addressed immediately. There are a couple of workers who have a lot of arm hair. I don't expect them to shave or anything, but they should at least be told to we're long sleeves. I cringe every time I see one of them go elbow deep into a tub of ice cream. I decided to write a review today when I found a hair in my order. I grew up eating the Carvel parfait. It was the ultimate treat when my parents would buy them and I dug my way down to the delicious little pool of syrup waiting at the bottom of the skinny plastic glass. After they discontinued them I graduated on to the Carvalanche, which is great, even if they stole the idea from McDonald's McFlurry. Fortunately for Carvel, their successful covert campaign of disinformation and degradation has led to a south Florida McDonald's culture without the ability or self-confidence to make a proper McFlurry. They just put the ice cream and cookies, or whatever topping you choose, into a cup and think you're paying extra money for that weird trapezoidal spoon. If you kindly remind them to please whip it, they tell you they don't know how to ram a spoon into a machine specifically made to have that spoon easily and quickly rammed into it...but I digress. Points for Carvel, though not really. So Carvel's sunk in quality since it's parfait heydey when I would have given it 5 stars, probably one more star than my age at the time. To add insult to nostalgic inner-child injury, if you ever show up within one hour of Carvel's closing time, they have begun to "clean" their machines and you cannot order any soft-serve or mixed ice cream treats (read: signature items) If you need a breakdown, I provide it below 5 Stars - Carvel invents, masters and provides me with parfaits. Monopoly of crunchies on ice cream. Yeah so for ice cream I am really not impressed. From the very beginning you can tell the don't train or teach their employees anything about how to handle customers, ice cream, or a retail storefront. Let's start with the multiple visits I have made (only because I live around the corner). Every visit the soft serve machine is not properly calibrated. I have told the staff every time that the soft serve machine needs to be set about 5 degrees colder (though 7-10 would make it perfect) but it still remains a milky mess. So badly that they had to serve my ice cream cone upside down in a cup. Fortunately I had a cup to drink my milk from. Now let's talk about the language barrier, I get it. I live in Miami. And yes Doral is even worse but come on when I talk and the person behind the counter can only smile and nod there is a problem. My family has worked for Carvel and we have always loved it. But this one should be closed. I won't be back again and would suggest you all go to Sub Zero just down the road. read more

I went here for the first time to buy my husband a birthday cake a few days ago. They had a huge variety of cakes. They also have somewhat of an ice cream bakery there with chocolate covered bananas, chocolate dipped soft serve, and different cookie sandwiches. My brother got a chocolate cookie sandwich and he loved it. The service was awesome. They will be seeing me again soon! read more
