Went to Freddo on Giralda Ave. in Coral Gables on Christmas Day, 12/25/24, wanting to try their Gelato ice cream. The place was packed with people. Only one attendant managing the store, customers, and trying to accommodate all customers at the same time. No order at all. People would come in and go to the front of the line, ask for drinks, etc., and the attendant would accommodate them immediately, while the other people that were already in line, had to wait. A gentleman in front of me got fed up and left. I left as well after waiting 25 minutes of waiting for my turn to get served. The attendant was not aware who was next, and had to ask which group was next to service. The people in the line did not care who was next, as long as they were serviced first. Most of the people in line were foreigners, so I guess that's the way they behave in those foreign countries. All chaos and disorder. Even though I wanted to try the Gelato, I just got very frustrated and left in a huff. I will never go back there again. Horrible customer service and overall bad experience. Not recommended. I first went to Freddo with my Buenos Aires obsessed BFF and her Argentinian husband while they were visiting Miami. She got SO excited to see it here because it hasn't yet arrived in NYC. It definitely gives off a chain ice cream shop kind of vibe, but turns out, the helado is pretty tasty after all. Since then, I've returned a couple of times because there are not too many ice cream shops around Brickell to satisfy nightly cravings. I always opt for a small cup which comes with two flavors. Being Argentinian, Freddo specializes in dulce de leche and has over five different flavors with dulce de leche that are delicious. I would also recommend the Italian mascarpone with raspberry swirl and passion fruit. No matter what though, just make sure to ask for samples or you may never know! Besides ice cream, they have some baked goods and helado-based creations to enjoy. It's not super cheap, with a small cup costing around $5, but you get a lot of ice cream for that amount and it's quality. There's seating both inside and out. I prefer outside because you're right on S Miami Ave and can people watch and even bring your pup. I was at the office two blocks over and had the graving for ice cream. Knowing there was this spot next to the cigar bar that I've frequented before, I waltzed over. I discovered they had molten chocolate lava cake that made me bounce with delight. I enjoyed this with some gelato that they kept cold using a stick of liquid nitrogen I believe. Very effective. There are so many delicious gelato places in brickell specifically but nothing beats freddo. The taste of this gelato is literally divine and flavors are truly authentic. In addition the customer service is incredible, with very cheerful staff. When you order to go they pack your gelato with dry ice to keep it from melting. read more

I had such a great experience at Freddo that I went back for round two. It was just as amazing the second time around- if not better! I got two scoops of White Chocolate gelato in a cup. It may look like a cup of plain white ice cream, but don't judge a book by its cover. This gelato is far from plain or ordinary. The flavor is so intense and rich. It's absolutely incredible. I also love that it actually tastes like white chocolate! I feel like many white chocolate ice creams taste like vanilla with some added flavor. Customer service is bad . I know this FREDDO Chain from Argentina. They charge here 10 times more for the same ice cream and some of the flavors are very melted and they charge almost $10 dollars for two flavors, witch is not cheap and they serve only a little bit is not worth it the price . I went yesterday and I told the lady that the portion she served was very little for the price and she told me that this is the way they do , just a little . Cheaters !!! So I came in again and the experience was completely different. The manager I liked is no longer working. And one of the employees I recognize is now manager, the way he worked as an employee was questionable at best and now as a manager I feel as though freddo is losing its touch. I've noticed the place being less clean and the environment is much more hostile. The workers seem to be uncomfortable and the manager is extremely disrespectful. I asked him to try a flavor I hadn't tried before, and he was clearly annoyed that I asked for a sample. And when he handed me the spoon the icecream was falling off and I almost dropped it on myself. I ended up not getting anything because his attitude was too much and I wanted to leave. My wife however is more 'understanding' and ordered a cone with dulce de Leche and when the manager handed her the cone there was no napkin, the icecream was falling off, and his hand was dirty with the Ice cream. It was clear that he knew this was not appropriate because he automatically handed us a cup on the side and said 'this is for the icecream when it falls'. This trip to freddo was very disappointing, the staff were friendly but seemed disappointed in their manager, as I would be. And this particular manager gave me the worst experience I ever had at freddo, now before I go to get icecream I will be checking to see who is working. read more

I came on 2017 and loved this place. Went back and order the same panini on 2019 and it was NASTY. I made a comparing picture for you to see. The new version is with Burger bund and its not toasted. We couldn't even eat. The lava cake was burned, the inside didn't melt and it was taught in some parts. They probably changed managers or made recipes cheaper and you can tell.
