I wasn't too impressed with the Matcha drinks at Dasher & Crank. They advertise that they serve Yoko matcha on the building and have a list of Matcha beverages on their menu. I came in over the weekend and ordered a Matcha con Leche with almond milk and it was okay. I came in 3 years ago and had a Matcha with pistachio milk, so I was disappointed that wasn't an option. I also didn't specifically ask for an iced matcha (I assumed it would be hot), but the cashier brought it out for me cold. She was a sweet girl, so I didn't find it necessary to correct it. Maybe they don't serve hot drinks anymore, I'm not sure. I can't comment on the icecream, but the quality of Matcha teas has went down significantly so I can't recommend this shop. I ordered Rafaello ice cream in a small cup. The flavor was pretty good, but rather expensive for such a small serving. At around $8 I could get a much bigger portion at other stores. Both ice cream flavors are on the sweet end. The pistachio is probably the one I would get over ube. The pistachio ice cream was creamy and had bits of pistachio throughout each bite. The ube, however, was not as creamy and just too sweet. The texture was also different from the pistachio and the ube melted very quickly. If you love ube, this might be for you! The ube is their most popular and best flavor there (I thought). The black sesame was okay and strawberry was my husband's favorite. It's too tart for me. Each scoop was much larger than I expected. The consistency is also a little too runny for my liking. The inside of the place is cute and is shared with a drink place. It's pretty photo friendly. The staff was also really nice and allowed us to sample flavors before deciding. We also read on Yelp that they had a 6 scoop for $10 sampler thing but that is no more. Besides just ice cream they had sundaes, shakes, cookies, and brownies. You can even build an ice cream sandwich. However, we probably wouldn't be back. This ice cream shop was opened in April of 2019 by owner Daniel Levine. Levine's mission statement is "Happiness to our community through ice cream". This pink shop is adorable. It is set up with the Instagram photo in mind, from the framed witty sayings to the angel wings painted on the wall. There are so many places to pose your ice cream for that perfect social media picture. My favorite thing about this place is the flavors. I love it when an ice cream place has something that makes me want to bust out of my standard order of chocolate chip mint. On the night we visited Dasher & Crank offered best seller ube, early gray, and lemon speculoos. Those are flavors I can get excited about. All of the artisan flavors are made in house in small batches. So far they have created 425 flavors and they change the flavors up each week. Dasher & Crank keeps things fresh with collaborations with restaurants, breweries, and purveyors throughout Miami. Some of their past creations have included raspberry wasabi, salmon, sour cream and onion, everything bagel, and chicken and waffles. After tasting a few flavors, I picked a scoop of pretty and delicious lavender in a cone (6.25). I have tasted lavender in other places where it is overpowering with the floral but this one didn't have that problem. The cone was so fresh and delicious too. The ice cream was more of a gelato consistency in that it melted quickly. Prepare to photograph fast and eat quickly. I loved mine but I don't think my friend was as enamored as she left half behind in her cup. Ice cream can be purchased in cups, cones, and in pints. In addition to ice cream they also sell cookies, brownies, craft beer, soda, floats with beer and soda, matcha, wellness lattes, and coffee.
