Really great ice cream: Had a scoop of nutella cookie (I think) and pecan praline ice cream that has literal big chunks of pralines. The ice cream was sweet but not overly rich and it comes with free toppings (as many as you like) ! The lady serving us was very nice too in letting us try the ice cream beforehand and giving a generous amount of toppings. Highly recommend. read more

Banana pudding ice cream! Yes, honey yes!! We had gone out to dinner and the restaurant sadly fumbled the banana cream pie. Defeated...we walked to the nearest creamy and to my sheer delight I spotted banana cream ice cream! Literally the best I have ever had! Nilla Wafers, bananas, creamy banana ice cream, it gave all the things it needed to give. I had a contrasting school of mint chocolate that was also delicious. I wish we had more time I'd visit again. Absolutely amazing...Midtown Creamery clearly doesn't skimp on the milk fat! read more

Wow I almost don't have the words to describe this spot. With South Beach's reputation to prioritize image (glitz and glam) whilst providing the most subpar food Miami has to offer, I tend to stay farrrrrrr away. My family and I just so happened to stumble into this spot with an ice cream craving on a whim. Buttttt it now feels that it had to be intuition that brought us there. And no it wasn't the smell of fresh ,made to order waffle cones wafting through South Beach air that drew us in (wink, wink); it was purely instincts! Service was great. Both ladies working the spot were super friendly and attentive. We had a solid 5 people with us and every single cone/cup was made intentionally with love. I got the banana pudding ice cream and I mean this when I say it was probably the best ice cream I've ever had if not easily top 5. The quality is unmatched, you can literally taste that it's home made and the flavors they offer are to DIE for. If you're an ice cream enthusiast in Miami you MUST include this place on your bucket list (or Bookmarks if you're a Yelpie). Would 1000% recommend! read more

Old timey soda fountain feel. Ask your grandma what a soda fountain is. I had the Mexican hot chocolate ice cream sugar cone. Very chocolatey and super creamy with a spicy kick at the end. They made a special cup for my brother (big kid at 66) that involved peanut butter. All 4 of us really enjoyed the treat. Service was excellent. We went the weekend spring break ended. This town is so nice and the workers even nicer. Good customer service goes a long way with me. One young lady training the other on all things ice cream while we were there. The recruit chatted us up while her coworker was building us a tower of deliciousness. This was my 2nd trip to this great place, I hope to have a 3rd. read more

A hidden gem on Miami Beach! This spot is just a quick walk from the beach. Although the exterior is unassuming inside you'll find incredible ice cream! The flavors are more unique - no simple chocolate here - and since we were on vacation we decided to try a couple of different flavors. The multiple cookie flavor and the s'mores ice creams were my pick and both were fantastic. My only nitpick is the bowls were too small for two scoops of ice cream and in the Miami Beach heat the ice cream melts quickly and will make a mess. read more

Good ice cream in South Beach. I ordered the banana pudding scoop with whipped cream on top. The banana pudding was delicious, with bits of chewy crust scattered throughout and a nice banana flavor that wasn't too artificial tasting. The price was around $6 for one scoop, and toppings come free. The place has a nice vibe, and the staff is very friendly. The person behind the counter offered her advice on different flavors and gave out free samples. This is definitely the best ice cream shop we stumbled upon in South Beach, not being too touristy. There is limited eating space inside but it's a short walk to the beach. read more

Midtown Creamery is social media famous but I had no clue when I decided to stop in for a scoop. I had simply found it on Yelp while browsing for ice cream near my hotel. After dinner one night I came by to satisfy the craving I had been having. The shop is easy to notice right off Collins Ave and has a neon sign on their front window along with a few outdoor seats. The customer service wasn't the best. No hello when I first walked in. The lady at the register made it known that didn't "work there" but was running the cash register at the time. And honestly, you could tell. Their creative ice cream flavors and their funky rice cereal treat cones and cups are what they are known for. They also have a good bit of toppings to choose from (unlimited) and samples were offered. I can't remember what flavor I got but it was pink and green swirled and I opted for the lucky charm cereal on top in a basic cup (their recommendation). I didn't have the appetite for anything larger and this turned out to be just enough. It was sweet with some crunch from my lucky charms. Of course, I didn't forget to take some pictures and tag them on IG. I mean, did you really go if you didn't take a pic? I'm sure the kids will love to visit and the ice cream will hit the spot. read more

Friendly workers and you can try samples here! I believe there's just one size here, so that's what my friends and I ended up buying. ONE ICE CREAM SCOOP - 6 I got the BANANA PUDDING flavor which was fantastic. There are a good amount of banana chunks in here that was a good mix of sweetness and added texture to the very creamy ice cream. It's not too sweet, so I'd highly recommend it. They are also generous with the amount the scoop out. My friends got the AVE MARIA (guava & cheesecake - pretty fruity and not too sweet), MINT OREO (quite good and would recommend if you don't like chocolate chips), and BISCOFF (yes, like the airplane cookies - graham cracker & honey?). Would recommend these flavors, as well! read more

Low key ice cream joint, except for the neon signs. A decent amount of ice cream choices. And lots of fun toppings. Bubble Waffle Cone w/ Rum Raisin & Salted Caramel Biscoff: Had to get the bubble waffle cone since it looked so amazing from the Yelp photos. Mine took a while to make, like 5 minutes, but when it was ready it looked so indulgent. The caramel Biscoff ice cream had a good amount of caramel and nice cookie chunks. The rum raisin ice cream packed a nice kick, as the raisins had a good bit of rum infused. The cereal and candy toppings I chose were fun too, adding a nice texture. The bubble waffle portion not touching the ice was both crispy and fluffy, so great. The bubble waffle touching the ice cream soaked up some melted ice cream and got soggy, so wasn't a fan of the texture. read more

If you want a quick sweet treat while visiting Miami Beach, this is your spot! Our group had so much fun choosing between the different flavor and toppings combinations. However, nothing that was ordered or on the menu looked like the example photos - still good, but not the same. I got a small scoop of strawberry with gummy bears and a friend of mine tried the vegan option and reported back that it was delicious. Midtown creamery was a good find for us while spending the week on south beach. It's really close to the beach, the ice cream here is pretty over the top in terms of flavors and creativity. The ice cream itself was good, not amazing. I had cookies and cream which they said was a crowd favorite. I ordered this crazy concoction where I think you get 3 different kinds of ice cream with all sorts of stuff on it and it was ok maybe less is more for me but the idea was nice! The parking was a major issue for me, we rented a mini car from our hotel and drove down and there wasn't one place to put that thing. Had to bring it back and then walk all the way down but it helped us burn off some of that stuff lol. The absolute best thing about this place is the service, they go above and beyond let you try things aren't pushy or trying to get you out of there just patient and helpful. read more

Had a fantastic experience here for dessert. The owner was super nice and she absolutely loaded us up with ice cream (2 scoops is equal to 3-4 at any other ice cream shop I've been to). They also have unlimited toppings. It's reasonably priced for the surrounding area as my wife and I were out the door for less than $15 compared to $25 at any gelato shop where they skimp on the gelato. We are definitely coming back here in the next few days! read more

So good! We were looking for a sweet treat and this one was luckily located within walking distance from our hotel. There were not too many flavors to choose from but you can sample any of the flavors. I got the passion fruit and it was super creamy! They have different cones and toppings so you can easily customize your order. My girl friend got the biscoff flavor and topped it with caramel and cereal. Scoops are very large. I thought I wouldn't be able to finish it but it was just too tasty! Prices are also very fair for the amount you get. Service wasn't the friendliest but also not rude. For the ice cream, it's worth it. read more

The coconut was the best coconut ice cream you could imagine: complete with fragments of real coconut! It went extremely well with the passion fruit. Ask to try some samples, this place lived up to the neon sign in its front window. We were able to sit outside on the porch which was really great. read more

If you're looking for ice cream in South Beach, look no further. The flavors here are delicious. I enjoyed Biscoff cookie, Nutella Oreo and Cookie Palooza the most. My husband loved the Ave Maria (guava) and said the banana pudding was good but tasted like fake banana. Please beware that in-line with the rest of the area they are expensive but portions are big! $25 in ice cream later we left with humongous cones of ice cream. We ordered the waffle cone which is 2 scoops (each) and an extra scoop for our kiddo - if we had known has big the cones are this wouldn't have been necessary but basically $10 each for waffle cone w/ 2 scoops plus $5 for single scoop. The flavors were rich and satisfying and we do recommend Midtown Creamery but just an FYI that it's pricey (as is all of SoBe). read more

My wife is pregnant and had been craving ice cream. I first came across their location in Miami and thought it would be perfect but since we were in South Beach it wasn't feasible. Then I found they had a location 3 blocks from our hotel. Perfect. Flavors are all unique and need explaining. It seems like they must rotate regularly so there is no permanent signage and you'll need the employee to point them all out. They were very generous with free samples. My wife got the salted caramel biscoff and I got Oreo Nutella and Dirty S'more. Of the three the Dirty S'more was by far the best. We got them in homemade waffle cones which were dusted in cinnamon which wasn't necessarily bad but with the wrong flavors could have been distracting. The cones were not the most structurally sound and the ice cream wasn't super frozen so on a cool January evening it melted and fell apart quickly. I wouldn't have wanted to see the mess on a July afternoon. read more

Came here on my most recent trip to south beach. Found this place randomly walking down Collins to our hotel. Looked it up on Yelp when we got back to our room and decided to give it a try. Friendly people here where you get unlimited free toppings and even when you decide later you want some after all or more of them, you get them. What's not to like about that? Also, to bury the lead, the ice cream is good! This place is too close to my hotel and my trainer (if I had one) would not approve. But what imaginary he/she doesn't know don't hurt him/her. This was some good stuff, maybe even "Bomb-Ass" as the window neon sign proclaims. They give you unlimited tastings which I couldn't exploit, and I went away with the double-scoop combo in a cup 'cause that's how I roll: coconut and some exotic fruit that isn't anything usual. Yes it cost more than a Breyer's carton but money is no object when talking frozen lactose right? read more

Tasty, fresh ice cream! Small little place not on the main strip. Lots of creative options like a bowl made out of fruity pebbles! We just got the smallest "teeny weenie" size with one scoop for each of us. The ice cream flavors were interesting and not too far out! I got "Dirty S'mores" that had peanut butter ice cream (not too much peanut butter taste but just right), and marshmallow and Oreo-like bits... Give this place a try if you are near Ocean Drive and want some high quality dessert! read more

I love the fact that the texture is creamy, and there is a nice amount of toppings! The service is kind and friendly. Extended hours are always a great bonus! The only reason why it is not a straight 5-star for me is that ice cream tends to be more icy than creamy sometimes, but those are rare days. The prices are reasonable. This place was recommended to us by a local resident and it did not disappoint! The lady working was very helpful and gave us flavor suggestions and samples. The ice cream flavors were delicious and my husband and I had a hard time deciding. He ordered a Nutella filled Oreo cone with one scoop of ice cream and she FILLED the cone with Nutella. No skimping. I ordered ice cream in a cereal bowl and that was also delicious. The employee added some toppings for embellishment. We sat inside to enjoy the AC but there are seats outside as well. Prices seem typical to Miami but I'd say it's well worth a visit! read more

I saw they were about to serve my espresso in a paper cup and I asked for a ceramic cup since the paper changes the flavor. They said they couldn't do that because they were closing. There was still 45 minutes to go at this point but they said they'd rather refund me the $3+ dollars for the ounce of coffee. They ended just giving in. It took less than 5mins for us to eat the 4 small tarts and me to drink the espresso. They proceeded to get an attitude and mock me on the way out. None of the employees like their jobs or people. None of them want to be there. They are rude and disrespectful. I get it, its work. Ive been there. But I will not support or spend my money again in a place where everyone exudes "we hate you and this job". There's plenty of other options.

It's a nod to not only the owners' backgrounds and roots, but also to the old school fine dining environments. It set the stage perfectly for what was to come. The tasting menu is 10 dishes and is served in 4 courses (apps, small plates, entrees, dessert), served in a 3 plate course until dessert which is 1 dish. Each dish is unique in its own right, yet contrasts from the others so you don't get fatigue from a single flavor or style. For example, the app course that I had was a wahoo ceviche, a shrimp and green papaya salad, and an endive and sharp cheese salad (served in wrapped endive leaves). They all worked together, but offered vastly different textures and contrasting flavors while feeling like an orchestra working together in your mouth. This experience continued through the entrees and I cannot opine on the dessert (rum cake) because I took it to go because I was so full... which has never happened to me in a tasting menu before. Paya is not only worth consideration in a saturated market of fine dining in Miami, it is one that should be prioritized and experienced as an indulgence of senses and flavors.
