    Banana split
    Linda L.

I was really scared to try to place as a lot of the reviews mention how terrible the service was. However we were pleasantly surprised with an extremely kind server! He let us sample many different flavors and made us a beautiful banana split! $13 for 3 scoops of ice cream in Miami. I think this is a great deal! We're going on a cruise and staying in Miami until embarkation day . But already planning on hitting this place up again when we get back from our cruise! We got rum raisin, blackberry, and Ferrero rocher(this was my favorite flavor!!) in a banana split. Absolutely the best gelato I have ever had!

I got the Ferrero rocher and brownie gelato. Literally the best gelato I've ever had!! Ate quite a bit of it before I remembered to take a picture lol. It wasn't too busy when I got there so very fast service. The inside was cute, not a lot of space to sit down tho.

A coppola piccola - with flavors I picked - chocolate, bosco di fruitti, and mango - best gelato I've had in Miami!

During my second visit here, I decided to try a coppa - their defining point of difference between 4D and the other gelaterias. What's a coppa? A cup, pretty much. But it's a sundae style tall glass cup that comes in varying sizes, sliced fruits - and with whipped cream that you've always loved. It's the same as a tall glass cup you'd get in a diner laden with scoops of ice cream (except it's creamy and tasty gelato here - which is a bigger and healthier plus). You could pick from their preferred choices or make your own and they'll put it together. The coppas are more expensive than the regular cup and cone deal - ranging from $10 to $20, depending on size - but with a cool factor, service (they brought it to me in a small silver tray - ooh la la), and a perfect sharing amount for a date or a group of friends (the more people, the bigger the cup, the more you should pay :) ). But I think the smallest one COULD be good enough for one person - if that one person likes to be "oh-this-is-a-lot-of-gelato" full at the end since it comes in 3 scoops (which I personally think is a lot for just one person but I'm sure there's others that may disagree). But if this is too "rich" for you since buying a regular paper cup of gelato runs $4 or $5, standard for gelaterias in Miami, then you can always go with the latter. :) I had the chocolate flavor which is by far the best chocolate gelato I've had in Miami, and I mixed it with the creamy yet vibrant flavors of mango and fruitti di bosco - and with the whipped cream, fresh strawberries, blueberries in a coppa piccola (the smallest cup) - I knew I was in heaven on earth!

This place is freaking amazing. The gelato is so creamy and smooth. I've come here about 6 times over the past 5 years. I will be a repeat customer if I'm even an hour away. Thank goodness for Uber. Be sure to try the cookies and cream along with the chocolate/chocolate chip!!!

    Nice comfy seating area.

Let me start with the most important thing here, the Gelato. The product is good. No doubt about that. Too many great flavors to select a favorite but I never go wrong with the Coconut or Dulce Leche, two scoops. If you are not a scooper, I recommend the Gelato smoothies. They're great in any flavor. The mix is never too thick or too soft, just right on point. This location lacks customer service and the reason I dropped one start. I will not go into details but my recent visit was the worst. I don't mind paying the steep price for Gelato as long as the customer service is above average.

The customer service is the worst I have ever seen !! The gelato is good but with this service, I will never come back for sure ! We could not even ask her anything without her complaining or rolling her eyes! Unbelievable ! We just wanted to sample one flavor...one ! Please do something about it !! On the positive side, the hazelnut and Nutella gelato is really good! Regarding the Oreo one, I have tried better.

    Delicious Gelato!

4D - The MOST delicious gelato in all of south florida. Soft, creamy, made fresh daily...I've tried almost every single flavor...we've been going every weekend since it opened. I highly recommend strawberry, mango, frutti di bosco, lemon, plum, nutella, bacio, key lime pie... yes! they have a key lime pie flavor gelato and its spectacular! Great friendly service. Visit and you will be keep coming back for more... enjoy!!!

Delicious gelato place by South Pointe Park! They have the best stracciatella and chocolate gelato. I paid $4 for the small (kinda pricy) but it's a good treat. It's also located right across from the beach. I'm not normally a fan of gelato or ice cream but this place takes the cake! Highly recommend. Enjoy!

We walked into this Gelato Go location hoping to grab some ice cream and enjoy a peaceful, beautiful evening by the water. Instead, our night was completely ruined by the appalling behavior of the staff member working the counter. After patiently waiting in a long line for our turn, we simply asked for a tiny sample to help us decide our order. Rather than accommodating this basic industry-standard request, the employee (pictured below) became immediately hostile. She aggressively argued with us, spoke in a deeply demeaning and disrespectful tone, and dismissively told us to step aside so she could serve the rest of the line--despite the fact that it was our turn. Her combative and entirely unprofessional attitude so thoroughly soured the moment that we walked out without ordering a thing. When I asked for her name to report the incident, she explicitly refused to provide it. Fortunately, I took a clear photo and video of her to ensure management knows exactly who is driving away their local customers. You go out for gelato expecting a pleasant, relaxing time--not to be subjected to unprovoked disrespect. If you value basic decency and customer service, I strongly urge you to take your business elsewhere. Until ownership steps in and seriously addresses how their front-line staff treats people, this establishment is not worth your time or your money.

But as soon as I took a bite of the gelato at Ciao Amore I knew all other places for dessert need not apply. It was SO good! I went here twice and both times I went with the same--a regular cup with two flavors--coconut and passion fruit (dairy free). The coconut had some lovely little cookie bits in it and the passion fruit was made from real fruit as it also had some seeds in it. Both were excellent on their own but really something special together! The space itself is pretty cute. It's a walk up stand though it does have a small indoor space with pastries and a bit of seating out front. It's cheerful and pink and the decor alone will turn your mood around. I'm craving all of it big time while writing this review back in dreary Michigan!

The top, with melted cheese, was quite nice. Strawberry Danish: Love the big globs of real strawberry against the the thick cheese. It's almost like having a cheesecake wrapped in breakfast pastry. Chocolate Chip Cookie: A classic done very well with nice chunks of chocolate. Amarena Gelato: Love the contrast of tart sweet cherries and creamy ice cream. It's subtle, but delicious. Well, unfortunately Mammamia gelato hits both the criteria for the fake stuff, and in my desperate attempt to eat something sweet and cold I still gave them a shot. To no surprise, the flavors are artificial and the lemon had a distinct, unpleasant aftertaste. The chocolate was okay, but the fruity flavors (which are typically the best choices for gelato in my opinion) all left much to be desired. I will say the guy at the counter was nice and let us try a BUNCH of flavors -- at a certain point we'd tried so many we felt like we needed to buy a scoop simply out of politeness, but were also faced with the conundrum that none of them really seemed all that great. I will say it's also nice that this place is open until 1am, and I bet after a night of drinking they would all probably taste better. To be honest, there is a MUCH better gelato place literally just around the corner from this one, and frankly I would recommend you take the 30 steps and get "real" gelato from that place instead. Sorry Mammamia, I love your name but that's about where it ends.
