According to owner and hip hop DJ Ari Kalimi "Mr. Kream is a hip-hop ice cream shop and it's located in Wynwood and basically, we are combining all the elements of hip-hop into an ice cream shop." All of the ice cream are named for hip hop artists and album titles including their most popular flavor, a 2 Live Crew inspired 2 Live Blue, which is Oreo cookie, cookie dough, blue vanilla ice cream. The floor is decorated with a rap walk of fame and the walls with hip hop graffiti. You can next level your scoops with edible spray paint, candy, pastries, soda, and even alcohol. Besides ice cream they sell pizza and hot dogs. On weekends, Mr. Kream has a live DJ and they're open until 3 a.m. They pride themselves on not just giving you ice cream, but an entire experience. I think the experience was what was lacking when my friend and I ducked in here for a cool treat after walking around a blazing hot Wynwood. I didn't know anything about Mr. Kream before entering the store but I figured out the hip hop theme quickly. Our server wasn't the friendliest and we may have tried out something new if she had been more welcoming. I ended up with a small scoop of watermelon sorbet that while refreshing was over priced at over $7. It was while I was eating that I noticed they had limoncello with lemon sorbet for a reasonable sounding $13.50. Maybe I should of had my watermelon sorbet splashed with vodka, The more I started reading the menu, the more interesting it seemed, especially the alcohol side of the menu. Stopped here while in the area and having dinner a couple blocks over. Definitely a busy part of town with different clubs and restaurants on this stretch. We stumbled in here after a large ramen meal and ordered dessert. There are several options but upon trying to order, they were out of some of the cookies that were part of menu items. Happened to stumble on this spot by chance. It is so hip and soulful! The decor is retro but also pays homage to hip hop. The names of their flavors are witty - not too mention delicious! My son had the Blue Ivy cotton Candy Marshmallows with gummy bears and loved it!! Love the theme of this place! It's an ice cream shop crossed with musical artists. First off, so many ice cream flavors!! Secondly, all of the flavors are named after 90s hip hop artists. The ice cream was delicious, but a bit too rich/heavy for my taste - especially after dinner. This place is pretty epic. You walk in and the music is playing and all of your favorite hip hop legends greet you both on the "walk of fame" and photos on the wall! The shop definitely payed homage to hip hop and its artist. There was a walk of fame with a number of hip hop artist even some of the most legendary Miami hip hop artist. Each of the ice creams had hip hop influenced names. I am giving three stars because how is this a hip hop inspired ice cream parlor but there is no hip hop being played? Hands down, the best ice cream shop in town! Ice cream is one of my weaknesses, I've been following Mr.kream on instagram for a while and kept hearing it was all the rage. Finally was able to visit on Sunday with friends and what a great experience it was! The music and live DJ were the cherry on top of the delicious flavors and the creativity behind the small shop. 2 Live blue is one of their most popular flavors and it's definitely worth all the rage. Be warned, it will leave your mouth and tongue bright blue. I wanted to try their strawberry cheesecake flavor, but I was told the flavors rotate so it was not available that day. Instead I tried Shabba Ranks, which was a coconut fudge flavor, and truly delicious as well! Most of our party went with the 2 live blue as well as 24k, and Cardi Banana flavor. The 24k was kind of like carrot cake with a cinnamon flavor. Cardi Banana is self explanatory. The two guys behind the counter were extremely helpful and patient as everyone decided on their flavors (it was a hard choice). You're able to try out the flavors before placing your order. The decor inside is simple, yet bold. Bright colors with framed pictures of hip hop icons, which make for very cute photo ops. This place is awesome. Hands down! On my last day in Miami a friend mentioned this place she saw on Love & Hip Hop and it just happened to be in the neighborhood we were already exploring. Walking in and I was already smiling because they were playing good (Hip Hop and R&B) music. There were TV's that showed videos and all on the walls were famous musicians. There is little seating but it seems to get real live in there since there was DJ equipment set up. There are jumbo Uno cards & jumbo Jenga to enjoy while sitting around. Today is my girlfriend's birthday and since we're visiting her hometown of Miami, she decided she wanted to visit the Wynwood Walls. After checking out all the cool art, I suggested ice cream and we found this place nearby on Yelp with really great reviews. I had no idea what to expect, but this place is really cool! It's definitely unique to Wynwood with a hip hop/street art flair to the music and decor, and all the ice cream flavor names are references to musical artists and songs, which I thought was really cool. I got the 2 Live Blue, a blue ice cream that's a mash-up of cookies and cream and cookie dough (think Cookie Monster, like the statue that greets you as you come in). It was delicious, though it did turn my lips, teeth, and tongue completely blue! My girlfriend ordered the birthday cake flavor (naturally) but there wasn't quite enough for a scoop, so the wonderful young man behind the counter had her pick another flavor and gave her extra ice cream, as well as some special toppings for her birthday! I was so excited to finally be able to check them out a few weeks ago. I had been invited to an empanada making class there with some fellow foodies, as Mr. Kream now has a kitchen that services munchies far beyond ice cream. The empanadas we made were very tasty, but the ice cream was definitely where it was at! They have a ton of fun flavors, all named after hip-hop type music artists. I had two very large scoops in a cup. One was a coffee with, I think, peanut butter cups. I don't actually recall what all was in it, I just know that it was amazing! I also got a scoop of the toasted coconut which was super delicious! My son had a cotton candy and mini M&M ice cream in a cone that he very much enjoyed. The place itself is covered with hip-hop memorabilia and art. They even have a few games to play and a DJ booth, as they occasionally have a DJ. All the staff was very friendly and helpful. Recently I have taken a keen liking to their banana flavored ice cream which I believe is named after Cardi B.
