They are reliable, flexible and do a very good job! We started with a few one time cleanings that we were able to schedule online before having holidays guests. Now they come every 3 weeks. Wonderful. I had Monday off work for what we now call Indigenous Peoples Day, and contacted Carlos on the Saturday before, thinking I wouldn't be able to get anybody with such short notice. Carlos explained that Monday was normally their day off, but they'd try to get a team together. CARVAN Cleaning is AMAZING I found this business online and all the wonderful reviews convinced me to call. Thank goodness I did. Carlos and his team cleaned my unit like it has never been cleaned before. This wasn't an easy task, we were moving out and moving furniture. This didn't stop Carlos and his from cleaning. Carlos and he team were excellent in providing a detailed, professional and timely service. They arrived on time, and immediately got to work. He did a throughout inspection of the teams work when he arrived as it was my first time using his company. He coached his team on where there was opportunity and held them accountable to get it done promptly. He did this all in a very professional and polite manner. They came to me as a referral from my usual person who wasn't available, as I needed someone to clean my upholstery asap (didn't want new stain to settle into fabric). He chose them based on the 5-star reviews. Pity I didn't find them myself. Only now do I see that I'm the third person to review; the previous two clearly making it possible for them to rank 5 star status. I don't care how good or inexpensive the service is; one thing I can't justify is attitude - that kind that pops up when one's (obviously concerted) effort to play "nice guy" gets annoyed by trivialities. Carlos was dismissive and took his sweet time when one of my neighbours honked at his van in the alley as he unloaded his machinery. Then, he put down her driving just because she had difficulty squeezing her large SUV between his van and the trash disposal. It was embarrassing, to say the least. My first clue was when his edginess on the phone reared its head as he enquired about parking. I was wanting to be sure he was on North Ashland Ave., so I mentioned the area's name to him. "Is that in Chicago? The GPS doesn't give me neighbourhood names." Lessons learned: 1) Urgent requests for services can potentially land you with less-than-desired results. 2) Notice how many reviews are listed before assuming multiple stars indicate actual service given. (And on that note, I won't be surprised if - or suspicious of who sends - any snarky reply to this review gets sent my way.) Just an FYI. read more

UPDATE: Adding one star, I just received a call from Carlos apologizing for the issue with our oven. He offered to rectify the situation if he could in some manner. As much as I appreciated the offer, I had to decline. I'm sure I would have done the same thing in the future if they didn't do it over the weekend. I'm impressed with his follow up & customer service! We found CARVAN Cleaning Services through Home Advisor & had a quick turnaround for this project. Carlos was very responsive and gave a quote over the phone. He called on his way to our house as he said he would and arrived on time. Unfortunately the job was a little bigger than expected so he called his other crew over after they finished another job to get our house done on time. I appreciate his responsiveness and thoroughness of the work he & his team did. He walked us through every room to make sure we knew the work that was done. My one complaint is that his team ran the self-clean feature on our oven, which apparently is a big no-no in talking with friends in the appliance service business. The oven itself blew a fuse (not the house fuse) and the oven is locked shut and the display is off. We have to hire a repairman to fix our oven. I'm sure I would have done the same thing at some point in the future, so I can't completely fault the cleaning crew. Just a bit of a downer moving into a new house. Overall I would recommend Carlos & CARVAN Cleaning Services for a move-in cleaning. read more
