Delicious pizza. I ordered a medium with mushrooms. The pizza isn't too salty so if you are a salt lover like me you might wanna have some Parmesan cheese available. I got the recommendation from my Mom, who ate pizza from this place during a meeting. I tried it, sausage pizza slices were big, good, hot, and cheap. Then I ordered pick up and delivery - both experiences were good: Pick up: an almost no-wait pick up, got my stuffed pizza, canolis, and free bottle of RC. Delivery: Good timing within the hour or less; delivery guy was friendly and called me when he couldn't figure out the front door ring thing (I live in a condo), but gave me my pizza hot and drinks cold. Tipped him VERY well. All three 'zas were good and tasty; and last two were Caruso's Specials - these had everything except for the kitchen sink. Also had green olives, I think, and I typically hate those - but these tasted excellent! Good pies, ALMOST as good as Lou's and Giordano's. Great pizza, excellent service (people are down to Earth here, cool...), you can dine here, but its a bit small-ish for this - really meant for delivery and pick up. Let me start off by saying this I'm from Chicago and I have tried almost every kind of pizza there is to offer. Caruso's is a thin tavern style slice I would give it a 7.8/10. There are a few things I don't like about it one of them is that the cheese always falls of when I take a bite, and second the bread could have a little more crunch to it. The service is great and it is ran by great management. This sauce is good but not great but definitely would recommend this pie. read more

I decided to give Caruso's one more shot after a bad first experience. This is the second straight bad experience for me.  At 3:30, I ordered a pizza for pick up and they said it would be ready by 4:10.  When I came to pick it up at 4:10, I could tell something was off when I said my name for pick up. She looked a little nervous and told me just a few minutes and to wait in my car. I waited in my running car for a "few minutes", which was 20 minutes (4:30). I didn't receive one update for those 20 minutes.  So when I came up to the door to ask for an update, I was told that it would be another 5 minutes. 5 minutes turned into 15 more minutes. All in all, I waited close to 40 minutes in a running car and the worst part was they did not care and were not apologetic.  I ordered my pizza well done and obviously they must've forgotten my order so it ended up being the opposite of well done. The pizza was rushed and did not taste well.  Just an absolute nightmare of an experience once again. Not to mention wasting a good amount of my day with this. read more

I had to try Caruso's thin crust based on all the positive vibes I see they get on yelp. Finally the past weekend I got a thin crust cheese pizza which I picked up. Ready when I arrived, hot and delicious smelling! It was definitely very good. Tasty cracker like crust. Good sweet sauce and nice cheese blend. Wow, this place is terrible. We ordered pizza and a cannoli dessert. The pizza tasted old, burnt, made with bad quality ingredients, cold, and just flat out gross. Quality is lower than cheap mall pizza. We got stomach aches after eating. To top it off, the cannoli had chocolate chips in it. I can't eat chocolate, and the description didn't say it had it. I have my holy grail of deep dish - Pequod's - but sometimes it's just a lot and you want some thin crust action. I have found it in Caruso's. It's not trying to be super inventive, but it's REALLY yummy. The crust is super thin and crisp (but not crackery). Then they add that luscious, rich, savory sauce, bomb sausage and the sprinkling of Italian seasonings on top of the perfect amount of mozzarella. Is it inventive? No. Is it fancy? No. It's totally classic, Chicago thin-crust cut into squares. If you spend more than $20, you also get a free liter bottle of RC. What's more old-school Chicago than that? read more
