My wife and I have been regulars at Caruso's since 1998 for but one reason: Jack offers really good food. Period. Over the past couple of decades we have tried every variety of pizza with our favorite being the thin crust. We had a family size cheese, sausage, pepperoni & bacon last night in celebration of my son's 22nd birthday and it was exceptional. I saw someone mention the crust being too thin these days and I kind of disagree. It's always a lunch time favorite of my boy's to have what he calls a "Kahuna Slice", a single massive $3.50 lunch bargain and that has a more robust crust. It has to due to the size. I prefer the thinner night time crust. You can't go wrong here. If not in the mood for pizza there are plenty of excellent choices. Burgers are solid, the Cheesy Beef is as good as it gets, fish is really good, chicken, lasagna, pizza puffs, cheese sticks, the list goes on and on. On top of that the delivery has always been prompt, courteous and accurate. While we don't order out as often as we did in our younger years we still love this local independent restaurant and will continue to do so. I love to support our local businesses! read more

What a gem! :) This place is 3 mins away from our home and so after attending an exhausting wedding, we decided to order in a cheese pizza with some mozarella sticks. The pictures on Yelp are helpful... but we really wanted NY Style pizza.. so when i called and asked, we were assured that's what they had. The menu is typical Italian pizzeria - pizzas, pastas, sandwiches. We ordered the thin crust cheese pizza and were given a wait time of about 45 mins. Since our order came out to be more than $12 we also got a free 1 liter of soda. The delivery came within 25 mins, it was super-fast! The pizza itself was delicious but i wouldn't call it NY-style... nonetheless it was very cheesy and very yummy. The mozarella sticks were standard.. nothing special, but the sauce was delicious. We will defo be ordering from here again soon, i want to try their veggie pan pizza and even their deep dish. I'm glad they're so fast on delivery, but i do hope they make authentic NY style pizza. read more

The pizza is very good. It was delivered 45 minutes earlier than the Eat24 app said it would be. I got a call from the driver saying he was outside - "wow," I said "you're super early!" "Tip me better, then," he said and then repeated it twice more "tip me better - tip me better." Now, he hadn't delivered the pizza yet and I always feel weird tipping for a service I haven't yet been rendered. Plus, I like to put it up to the discretion of the delivery guy himself what to do with the tip, and not pre-pay it to the restaurant's general coffers along with my order. Therefore, I tip in cash. I tipped him 30%. Have to lower my rating for 1 simple reason. The girl answering the phones sounds like receiving a call is the same as stubbing her toe on a dresser. Major attitude, not friendly, and just overall sounding as if you calling to give them business is a chore for her. If you don't enjoy your job.....quit. The service is great and they don't charge extra for marinara sauce. The price difference between a medium and XL is $4. I felt like they could have been more generous with the toppings. Overall, excellent pizza. This isn't your family dine in pizza restaurant. The dining area seems suffocating and somewhat uninviting due to multiple gentlemen sitting around socializing. I'm going to borrow Yelp's phrase of "Whoohoo! As good as it gets!" Indeed, Caruso's is just that. Great pizza, great food, great service. I've been going to Caruso's for nearly 20 years (or maybe more). I found out that they opened only a few months before I first tried it and I have been hooked every since. Jack (the owner) is a great guy and always has the best ingredients on hand to make excellent pizza. My favorite? Garlic, pepperoni, onion and sausage. An explosion of flavor goodness. I also love their cheesy garlic bread. I also order a salad with extra garlic sauce. Sensing a theme? Yes, I love garlic. And Caruso's does it right across the board. Their Italian beef is also excellent. I had it again tonight (with extra sweet peppers) and I'm happily stuffed. You can eat there (it's a small place, but there are tables), you can order online or you can call. They're always busy (a good sign) and still manage to get pizzas to your house in a reasonable amount of time. They are also open early on Sundays during Bears games. The dine in area is small can fit up to 10 people. Along with pizza they have many different options. Their fries are good really crispy, you can get with cheese as well. read more
